To those who are insulted by the swearing: the brilliant Stephen Fry once said 'the sort of twee person who thinks swearing is in any way a sign of a lack of education or a lack of verbal interest - is just a fucking lunatic'
I freaking love the noises they used for the swear words in this blooper reel. My favourites are "What the (quack) happened?" and the fart noise directly thereafter...
It's disheartening to hear four-letter expletives get such big laughs. Maybe people think that it reflects the maturity of today's society, but it just sounds to me like a bunch of junior high school kids trying to impress their friends.
@karlakor They weren't laughing at the cusswords, they were laughing at the fact that they screwed up and forgot their lines. Get that stick out of your ass, tightwad.
@jonnythong22 Well, you can certainly be proud of yourself. It's amazing to me how bold some people can be when they can hide behind the anonymity and distance of the Internet. I realize why the audience was laughing, but the fact that the actors flubbed their lines is only part of the reason. If the actors had used a more benign way of expressing themselves, the laughs would not have been as great.
@karlakor Sometimes an expletive used in certain context has more impact than a muted response, thus the audience reaction was greater than if a benign expression was used. In this case, the expletive was a release from the frustration of flubbing their lines. The heightened reaction to an expletive is not always childish. If they laughed out of mere shock to the expletive, that would be more childish....which seems to be your reaction. More plainly put: lighten up.
@hutch1197 I did not laugh at these expletives, as you seem to suppose. I find them course and vulgar, not amusing. The use of expletives often betrays a lack of control, but as they are used in this excerpt they are just used as a coarse way of getting laughs and to shock. To "lighten up", as you put it, would be to surrender to the tolerance of vulgarisms that seems characteristic of a society which seems to have abandoned all standards of behavior.
@jonnythong22 I am aware of the reason that the audience was laughing. My point was that the use of expletives by the actors in this excerpt betrays a lack of control that is characteristic of the continuing decline in standards of public behavior. Name-calling is another symptom.

I always found the actors who played Will and Grace to be annoying, but Karen and Jack were hilarious!

@AICaba You do realise Will & Grace was made before Gimme Gimme Gimme. All they have in common is the two central characters are gay and straight.

@karlakor Thanks for your words of wisdom and your insight on such a troubling matter. It's definitely a reason to get your balloon knot twisted.
