Well speaking as an TXSU Ocean Alum. 88-90 I have to school you yungins on what determines a winner of a battle.

It's all about the HOUSE you get from any crowd that is not your home crowd.

If you get a standing ovation and you are a visiting band that's what we Old Heads call House !!!

From what I saw Txsu took the House and never gave it back.

I was there, and Texas Southern was the best by far, They energy and they sound was off the damn chain, now im not taking anything away from the rest of the bands, because you obviously got chosen out of the rest of the NBCU bands for a reason, but TXSU did they thing, from the jump, and that batman superman trampoline trick was funny as hell,

You all did get alot of house that night, maybe because of the high kicks in the begining and most def because of that fan fare. I was behind y'all, and felt bad for the people who sitting on the visitors side. All in all, y'all did a great job, but for the people who expected more out of Norfolk, y'all set yourself up for the upset because you expected to much. They are not a show band, just simply a band who sounds great and put on a great show.

It's funny how some bands clam they drill but just make pictures on the field. That's making formations, not drilling, IMO. Now I've seen TXSU in 2000 when NSU played them in Cali so it was great to see them again.

I could only assume, in reference to this competition you are referring to BCU about not drilling. Trust and believe, if we want to drill, it will be done to perfection, if we want to format pictures, it will be done to perfection. And for the record BCU and FAMU will put all the others to rest, if it has to come down to it.

ok well thats not our stylle we are sorry that we don't have a 1000 people in our band to for pics on out feild we would love to but its ok. I used to love BCC its not the same 14k is nothing like it used to be and band is starting to turn into famu. Bcc was clean and loud now there is no edge

NSU always drill, so what are you talking about? The only time they do stand in place is during the slow tunes and the dance girls tunes and I never really seen a band march during those two selections.

oh damn, just admit that TXSU did they thang. They represented the conference well and leave it at that. NSU didn't half the respect that TXSU got on that field. TXSU left that mutha with their head up high. They have nothing to defend. The footage says it all. Put 1000 clips from 1000 cameras and the majority will still say TXSU! Oh well.

NSU didnt even drill forreal...they basicly stood in the same spot the whole damn time...yea they were a nice clean sounding band...but when u look at the overall picture we (d ocean) were the better band (no offfense to nsu)...we had more versatility in our show, we drilled more than nsu, our music was on point from a musical view and we cranked dat hoe d entire time.

Look, I am not a hater, but you have to look at the bands overall. This reminds me of drumline. People like entertainment, but they do not look deeper into what's going on. TSU entertained, but they did it the easy way. NSU marched, sounded much better and had a clean solid show. I was in Section 114 Row 24 Seat 18. I was there. LOL. I am not a hater. I think everyone did a great job, but I strongly feel, without profanity, that NSU was over the best.

Sorry buddy take it from someone who marched in FAMU in 1989-1992 TSU was by far the best. I'm sure the majority of the people in the dome that night could tell you what NSU did and pretty much all the other bands for that matter. Most of the peeps where still talking about TSU when the battle was over outside when walking to my car. I think over all this was a weak battle of the bands.

the reason it sounds a mess is because of the quality of the video not the band...if we were so high schoolish then there are 9 other hbcu bands that were posin as middle school bands cuz we got more house than n e 1 else there...dont hate just congradulate...Good Job Ocean...I and alot of other people are very proud of the way the SWAC and Texas Southern itself was represented!!!!
