how do you clean your 266 brush after using fluidline??

  • What website are you looking at in this video?

  • the mac website.. making sure my descriptions were correct.

  • Oh ok i was just wondering if there is a website that you can buy all the sets off i thought you might have been looking at a website like that. I live in Australia and there are not many places to buy MAC products i wanted to see if i could get them online from USA, any ideas?

  • omg what your saying about the 224 the smaller version of the 217 SE sucks so bad it hurts and the bristles are really ruff.

  • thanks for your review.. I just bought the full size

    150

    190

    168

    275

    239

    275

    266

    192

and 316. HOPE I LIKE EM'

  • Okay... I am a little confused. I can get a full set of all of the brushes you showed in part 1 and 2 (small versions) in a set? What is the set called , so I can buy? and also how many brushes all together? I will go with the lower end for now to try. Thanks!

  • they are from the Harlium collection.. they are seasonal only.. so im sure another set will come out for Christmas. anywho you can find them at any CCO in your area!! Which is an overstock supply store

    hope this helps

  • I have the full size 224 and it pokes my eyes a lot. I dont really like it. I like how it blends, but it hurts!!! So now I just use the 217. But my friend has two 224's and one of them is soft and the other one pokes. I don't get why they are not consistent with their brushes.

  • can i have the brushes you don't like hehe :) lol j/k

  • Hey Stephie! Thx so much for all your tutorials! You are not only a makeup fanatic but the most cutest and smartest little girl on youtube. Keep up the good work! Your recommendations and tutorials are very detailed and I learn a lot... especially on blending. hahaa Thx, Stephie!

  • u know what u show be an inerview for celebrity like broad casting.

  • Hey Stephie!

I just became a subscriber to you, and have been going through all your videos, which are all great and helpful! I had a kind of silly question concerning brushes. Have you ever tried the Costco brush set? If so, how would you compare the MAC brushes to the Costco brush set on a scale...? FYI: Pursebuzz's video about the Costco brush set influenced me to ask you. :) Thanks for your time and please keep doing what you're doing!

  • hey steph! dont throw your brushes! just give it to me! Or we can swap if you want. Ive got Mua account as well.

  • i have the mac 190 foundation brush already and have the heirloom 4 set with the mini 190. do you think its a good idea to use the mini 190 for cream blushes?

  • thaanks for the review! cuz i was thinkin of buyin this.. thanks again :)

  • actually the 217 brush from the heirloom set is very similar to the regular brush. very soft! I love both sets, they're both soft and work very well. thanks for the vid though :)

  • omg, i have both novel twist brush sets too!!! but i usually prefer the 217

  • DONT THROW THE BRUSH AWAY!. you can just give it to me :] lol

  • lol ;) i'm going to put it on swap at makeupalley hehehe

  • great tutorial. Could you tell me what colors you are wearing on your eyes in this vid? They look great!

  • thank you! :)

  • I hated the 224SE in my novel twist set too! I was so disappointed.

  • i know right! the 224se does absolutley NO justice to the actual brush. i love the full-size brush though!

  • thanks soooo much! going to go and get those brushes right now from their website!

  • forgot to ask can you recommend a mac brush thats good for applying bronzer to the face? soz ;-)

  • i think the 168 or 136 brush would be good. they are the ones i use for bronzer... i don't really have a preference :) i also think the 129 brush would be good!

  • hiya, just wanted to say your videos are the best! Thanks for sharing them. Im going to buy new eye brushes.. I wondered could you tell me which ones are best to get? ;-)

  • thank you so much :) i would recommend (all MAC hehehe) the 239 brush for shadow placement and pigments. this brush is so versatile, you can use wet or dry shadows. the 217 is my fave blending brush. i find it more soft than the 224, and slightly smaller so it's easier to blend just the smallest amount. the 266 for gel liner like fluidline... and 227 for highlighting. those are my hgs!

  • hiya , you were great help ,

can you please tell me were you get all yr brushes from plz and can you also tell the price , im a poor student with no good brushes lol :(

  • a majority of my brushes (besides one or two) are all MAC brushes. they vary in price, if you go to maccosmetics dot com (sorry i had to write it like that, the comment won't go through with a url in it, but you get the idea :D) you can find all the brushes there :)

  • quality not quantity.... I'd rather have the full size brushes

  • me too. i skipped on the brush sets. i may get the ones coming out with the stylistics (sp?) this december i think... they look amazing!

  • they're*** (not their) heh. i talk to much. sorry i just had to correct myself :p

face brush set all the way! even though i already have a 168...

  • lol i'm glad i could help! i hope you like the brushes. when i felt the 129se at the mac store, it did feel softer than the 129se that came with my novel twist brushes... hopefully they work great for you!

  • i guess i didn't really like that combo either so the face brushes were the best because i did need some face brushes. i still wasn't sure if they were any good because their not the original brushes but after watching your vids, i was completely reassured that the face brushes would be the way to go! the antiquitease is simply gawgeousss. i love it!

  • this video is extremely helpful! or both videos? lol. but anyway, i couldn't decide at first and i didn't really want to get all the sets because i'm picky and after comparing them on the mac site i thought that it'd be best for me to get the face brushes because i didn't really like the combination for the eye set and the basic brush set was well...

  • I bought the new Holiday E/S set in the Golden Tubie thing! I really like the tube...nice place to store the brushes and it beautifies my vanity. PLEASE do a review once you get yours...loveya,Monique.

  • hey monique! i actually passed on the brush sets, i figure i already have two brush sets, i don't really need more :) i want more full-size ones... i just wanted the tube :D

  • I have both the long handled and the short handled 252 brushes and I love the long handled one but the short one sucks! It hurts and doesn't work the same! I got all three of the sets and the only really good one is the face set. The others have maybe one good brush in them.

  • hey Stephie I love you vids, keep it up!! =]

  • Loved this review! Do you think you could go over which brushes you think are a must have staple? It would be nice to get input as to which probrushes I really should invest in.

  • yes i'll do them in a video soon :)

  • Are you a pro member? I heard you mention pro set in part 1. I got the eye brush set on Thursday, and I like it. I don't think it's anything special though, next time I get brushes I'll probably just go back to the Sonia K ones.

  • yes :) i've heard SK brushes are good, and they are cheaper so if they work well for you, i'd keep them :D

  • it's other worldly paint pot with haunting e/s on top :D both are from the mcqueen collection...

  • are you wearing other worldly? i'm considering getting it so pls let me know....

  • i'm wearing other worldly paint pot with haunting e/s on top :)

  • can you do a video on drugstore eyeshadows? :) like Loreal or Maybelline? =)

btw, when are you going to do the video with your sister? can't wait for that one

  • i'm so disappointed... my sister can't make it (she lives in LA)... so i'll prolly end up asking one of my friends to be my model :D i'm not sure when i can do it though.. it's going to be more work i think and i've got two major exams this wed and thurs! eeekkk

  • it's okay :) you don't have to do it since you're busy

i know how school work is piling up! mine too :(

  • Great video sooo helpful!!!! I wondered if you or anybody knows if the 217se is any good?

  • i use the 212 brush with the mac fluidline.. you should try it with the blacktrack fluidline for kicks, i think you may like it. i do agree it doesn't work with the eyeshadow, though.

  • i have tried it before with fluidline... i prefer my 266 or 209 over it :) i guess it's just all based on preferences.

  • Did you get your shirt from asos? I think i saw it there. So do you think its better to use a brush instead of a sponge to apply foundation?

  • i bought it on sale at forever 21 :) i've never heard of asos b4... but it sounds like a good store if that shirt looks familiar :D hehehe... i like brushes for foundation better bc you can vary the thickness of the foundation by brushing it out. with the sponge, i find it cakes too much onto one spot... but that's just my preference.

  • ha trash?! maybe use makeupalley to get swapped out:)

  • lol yeah i'll probably just do that :D

  • lol. ah i so want the 252 now. argh! lol. i def agree with u on the 212. once u have the 208 or 266 you never go back! lol.

  • One more thing....are their royal set eyeshadow sets same in quality as their regular eyeshadows? As far as pigmentation, and blendability? I bought the metallic and warm eyes. I wanted to get all of them...but you know ...trying to keep within my budget. LOL

  • definitely! the only difference in quality during these sets (to my knowledge so don't quote me hehehe) is in the brushes. eye shadows, pigments, lipstick, and eye liners are all the same. that's why i loves these palettes! you get great quality for a great price!

  • Stephie, I bought the basic brush set with the 129, 239, 219, 316 and 266. I got the one in the clutch bag which is $48. You said you are going to get the one in the cannister, that one is $45. I wanted to get that one too, but I wasn't sure. Do you have any clue why there is a $3 difference for the same set? Is it because of packaging? If that is not only reason I would have gotten the cannister one better.

  • i just looked online.... i do think it's just the packaging! :D

  • Are the makeovers you get at MAC free? BEcause I know they charge about 50, but i dont know if those are the ones you're talking about.

  • to my knowledge (dont quote me on this because i may be wrong) all the makeovers are required to make a $50 purchase... it may vary at locations. for example, at my last one, the lady said i only had to buy 3 items. but i know they aren't for free. but if they do a demo (like shadows) its free, but usually not full face makeovers.

  • i hate you..another good review.. :( ..lol..now i'm battling which one of the 5 sets i am going to get..i'll probably get the one in that cylinder thing too..yay.

  • Thanks sooo much for these two brush comparison videos, I've been wanting to know the differences between full sized brushes and the holiday sets. Your videos are all wonderful, thanks for everything and looking forward to more! :-D

    xoxo

    Sarah

  • "this ones ouchie" haha how cute

  • Thank you sooooo much!! This review really helped me out :-)
