  • YES, the best ever

  • gulp....well gaw damn....that is some tight picken and benden

  • wow great playin'!!

  • You obviously have a nice guitar and are into this kind of music. Why not post videos of you playing?

  • @GuillermoSmyser I don't trust anyone with my camera. :^)

  • @Richeray so then get a tripod or set it on a table or shelf and point it at yourself.

  • @GuillermoSmyser I was joking really - Search for Hullett amps and you'll find a clip of me playing. Thanks.

I'll see about doing a clip with Matt next time he's over. Thanks.

  • You've turned your living room into a 21st Century Cyber Opry!

  • Well-put, sullydog

  • very nice playing indeed; is this guitar tuned down one step ?

  • No, regular tuning. Thanks.

  • so how do you know all of these kool people???

  • just lucky I guess!

  • The more I watch this the more I realise how briliantly conceived it is.

It's actually fairly straightforward but this guy use of space in his playing is so clever the whole thing "fills up" so well.

Not just very competent playing, but a brilliantly conceived piece.

  • NICE! Great country tone too. Killer sound and chops and beautiful Tele!

  • Thanks!

  • This guy is amazing ive played with him at open mics and he is great

  • Holy tamoley great stuff !!!!!

  • Sheehite!!!

Nice playing, killer tone, there! Parsons bender at work, too?

    Cowboy

  • No bender in the guitar, Matt's doing those bends with his fingers only.

  • Fantastic!

  • Reaallyyy awesomeee playing and guitar!!! Great job ..... just bought a custom shop brown leather thermometer case cant wait to have my 52 tele .52 teles were in a thermometer case not a strat box case . Rock on !

  • i love this tele ripping. just caught onto it really. im gonna try and learn it. im assuming there are many tele players with this style of playing so can someone point me in the right direction online where i can read and learn how to play it. just MSG me. i'd really appreciate it. thanks.

  • Nice! You've got a gift. I love the music. Do you play music for a living or is it just a hobby? What got you started?

    Tc,

    Linds

  • That guitar sounds so AWESOME!!! I would love to play it. Everytime I watch this video and Arlen's video, Im instantly inspired to pick up my guitar and jam. Thanks for the great videos guys.

  • Nicely done, bro - any relation to Paisley? And are you playing through the Dr. Z amp? or the Fender? Or both?

  • Hi,

Matt's not related to Brad, but they have met. Matt played the one part into a looper pedal, and then played along to it. He's playing thru the Dr. Z Z-28 behind him. Thanks for the comment.

  • You're very welcome. I'm a but of a guitar hack myself, have a mexican strat and a fender amp, I just love guitars and amps and even straps and the smell of it all. I can smell someone who's been in my favorite music store from 10 feet away! ;)

  • I just bought my first Tele this week an artic white mim...someday im going to get the 52 reissue and maybe if im lucky an relic like this if my business is successful. Always good to dream =)

  • hi m8,

  • GOTAM

  • really nice stuff..use finger picks..i couldn't tell

  • sounds awesome man! love some of those bends you do around the twelvth fret on the b and g strings! your tone is great. i wish i had a original 1952 tele. your playin is awesome!

  • Its all fake camera tricks....i quit!

  • You're so amazing!!!great-incredible sound guitar...congratulations my friend...cheers from México

  • Nice playing, but it's not my cup o' tea. I think that you are playing exactly what that guitar was intended for. Would like to hear your chops on an ASAT Classic, though. The Fender RI is a one-trick mule . . .

  • Thanks for the comment. One correction, the guitar is not a reissue, it's an actual 1952 Fender Telecaster. I'm sure he would sound great on an ASAT Classic as well though. Thanks again for commenting.

  • Ahhhh, the Real Deal. I stand corrected. Pick on!

  • dude that guitar is worth up to 60 grand right about now. I seen one sell a few weeks ago at auction for 57 thousand bucks no joke.

  • Thanks for the comment. My guitar has been refinished, and although it was done by a former Fender Custom Shop Master Luthier, it still decreases the resale value a considerable amount. My hope is that it will stay in my family long after I am gone, so the resale value isn't really important to me at this point. Thanks again.

  • Can i be in your family i want that guitar lol..

  • LOL !!!!!

  • great guitar player, great music!

  • the first riff sounds similar to brent masons hot wired.

  • omgosh!!!!!!!!! amazing. impossible to do that. thats my dream

  • essa tá em boas mãos

  • Outstanding, just great tele tone and picking.

  • this is so good it makes me want to quit.

  • this guy is my teacher i swear to god

  • Excellent example of Fender chicken pickin'! Never heard anyone play it better.

  • Wow...I've been listening to Matt for years, and I've never heard Road Rage played so up-tempo! Just watching makes my hands hurt. Sounds marvelous - keep it up, buddy! Tom C.

  • Can you let me know what string guages matt uses?

  • As per Matt:

" As far as strings go I use guage 10's and I use D'Addario's and Ernie Ball regular Slinkys."

  • Awesome playing, awesome sound... awesome gear... AWESOME :D

  • hey is that an orange amp i see behind the player, if so is it a cab or combo?

  • It's an aftermarket 1x12 cabinet, that happens to be covered in orange tolex. It's not an Orange brand cabinet though.

  • awesome right hand sweet jam

  • Outstanding...is that a stock '52 RI or can you tell me what pu's you're using?

  • Hi,

That's Matt playing thru my guitar and amp. The guitar is an original 1952 Tele that has been refinished. The bridge pickup was rewound by Owen Duffy from OC Duff pickups. Matt's playing thru a Dr. Z amp (Z-28 into a Z-Best 2x12 cab). If I recall there's a little delay (Boss DM-3) and a little compression (Maxon CP 101).

  • Thanks guys, I'll pass you comments on to Matt.

    Rich

  • Hi man !

    keep pickin' good stuff ..

    Frank young

  • You rock! I mean Twang!!! Great stuff man, Forrest
