Reaallyyy awesomeee playing and guitar!!! Great job ..... just bought a custom shop brown leather thermometer case cant wait to have my 52 tele .52 teles were in a thermometer case not a strat box case . Rock on !
i love this tele ripping. just caught onto it really. im gonna try and learn it. im assuming there are many tele players with this style of playing so can someone point me in the right direction online where i can read and learn how to play it. just MSG me. i'd really appreciate it. thanks.
That guitar sounds so AWESOME!!! I would love to play it. Everytime I watch this video and Arlen's video, Im instantly inspired to pick up my guitar and jam. Thanks for the great videos guys.
Matt's not related to Brad, but they have met. Matt played the one part into a looper pedal, and then played along to it. He's playing thru the Dr. Z Z-28 behind him. Thanks for the comment.
You're very welcome. I'm a but of a guitar hack myself, have a mexican strat and a fender amp, I just love guitars and amps and even straps and the smell of it all. I can smell someone who's been in my favorite music store from 10 feet away! ;)
I just bought my first Tele this week an artic white mim...someday im going to get the 52 reissue and maybe if im lucky an relic like this if my business is successful. Always good to dream =)
sounds awesome man! love some of those bends you do around the twelvth fret on the b and g strings! your tone is great. i wish i had a original 1952 tele. your playin is awesome!
Nice playing, but it's not my cup o' tea. I think that you are playing exactly what that guitar was intended for. Would like to hear your chops on an ASAT Classic, though. The Fender RI is a one-trick mule . . .
Thanks for the comment. One correction, the guitar is not a reissue, it's an actual 1952 Fender Telecaster. I'm sure he would sound great on an ASAT Classic as well though. Thanks again for commenting.
Thanks for the comment. My guitar has been refinished, and although it was done by a former Fender Custom Shop Master Luthier, it still decreases the resale value a considerable amount. My hope is that it will stay in my family long after I am gone, so the resale value isn't really important to me at this point. Thanks again.
Wow...I've been listening to Matt for years, and I've never heard Road Rage played so up-tempo! Just watching makes my hands hurt. Sounds marvelous - keep it up, buddy! Tom C.
That's Matt playing thru my guitar and amp. The guitar is an original 1952 Tele that has been refinished. The bridge pickup was rewound by Owen Duffy from OC Duff pickups. Matt's playing thru a Dr. Z amp (Z-28 into a Z-Best 2x12 cab). If I recall there's a little delay (Boss DM-3) and a little compression (Maxon CP 101).
YES, the best ever

@Richeray so then get a tripod or set it on a table or shelf and point it at yourself.

@GuillermoSmyser I was joking really - Search for Hullett amps and you'll find a clip of me playing. Thanks.
I'll see about doing a clip with Matt next time he's over. Thanks.

The more I watch this the more I realise how briliantly conceived it is.
It's actually fairly straightforward but this guy use of space in his playing is so clever the whole thing "fills up" so well.
Not just very competent playing, but a brilliantly conceived piece.

Nicely done, bro - any relation to Paisley? And are you playing through the Dr. Z amp? or the Fender? Or both?

As per Matt:
" As far as strings go I use guage 10's and I use D'Addario's and Ernie Ball regular Slinkys."

It's an aftermarket 1x12 cabinet, that happens to be covered in orange tolex. It's not an Orange brand cabinet though.
