That isnt anything, My school got to goto purdues band day. me and about 1399 other band kids, plus the marching 100 got to play infront of 70000 ppl!
@HarleyMikeJrSWA737 that sounds like an amazing event, but you have to remember Purdue is a university, and this is only 9th-12th graders in one high school, so to speak, so of course it's not going to be as big as a university band with "guest" musicians. Hence why I put "high school band in Texas" in the description, not "university with 24 high school bands from Indiana playing with it." While the Band Day at Purdue is amazing, please remember these two events are not the same.
dude if pesh, williams, and clark combined to form 9-12 school, we would need a college sized campus, and the football fields would need to be 200 yds for our band, lol

For our band we're play at 2 jv games and then a varsity game. Do you do competition parades? We have one coming up Oct. 17. We won last year! By default. Central was too wimpy to play in the rain! lol
ummm.... I don't think we do competition *parades*, but we *do* do marching competitions. :] ours is coming up sometime next month. I think the 18th, cuz that's our last day of marching. :/ Marching's so much fun! :D haha.
we play at all of the sophomore home games, but this was a thing we did with the senior high school and the other high school that feeds into it with us. :)
that sucks. I almost ran into people while running off the field, though. XD And another guy had his plume blow off as he ran, so he ran back onto the field to get it as everyone else stampeded over in his direction. XD lol.
okay so i'm not from either of these schools but i would just like to say, clarinets kick major ass. (: woot woot. i'm a sophomore clarinet player and first chair in my band/marching section leader.
hah oh well, talking about band is my forte. (HAH, no pun intended.. i'm a dork, fyi).. and thank you. (: our band is uberly small but i love being higher up than some of the upperclassmen lol. i'm trying out for drum major (we only have one) next year and i have a good chance at it. and yes, clarinets kick ass.. even though i'm quite saxy for jazz band. ;)
top band? i have no idea what that is.. we have a conference honor band festival every year and i went last year as a freshman. but yeah i guess you could say i'm pretty good.. it's the one thing i'm really good at that i absolutely love. (:

(i only play alto because our director won't let clarinets in jazz, stupid director. hah.)
OMG. You would've thought that since I've seen this so many times, I would've realized by now that the announcer said we were/are the largest marching high school band in the state of Texas. And I'm a part of it...o__O.
holy crap hah.. we're one of the smallest competing ones in illinois. we're larger than normal, having about 50 including guard.. crazy right?! hah.. we only have one drum major now too.
you guys are awesome! ...not to mention massive compared to us. (: gimme some lovin' is our parade song and field show opener this year! where's your school at?
haha. A few years back, just WHS got largest band in Texas alone. Doesn't surprise me...lol. XD And considering we only practiced this ONCE all together as a whole... o_O!
