and yes thats true. Sadly still it is an option. But when you look at that option. The holden from memory was some 700 bux more expensive then the ford. If you give the ford that option the ford becomes some 500 bux more expensive then the holden. IMO its a fair change to give the ford the 6 speed option. But yes its abit rude of ford to not have made the ZF standard on all models and if they do have it standard on the ford models by FG MKII its really going to look stupid on their part.

well its one of those expenses they are going to need to suck it up and do otherwise yes....the ford isn't going to ever look like catching the commodore for sales. Or being able to fairly match it bang for buck. its a 1200 dollar option if I am not mistaken. If they have to make the next model falcon 1200 dollars more expensive to put it in I certainly (if I was buying) wouldn't mind.

yup it all started back when the EF falcon and VR were around. The EF was deleyed by about 6 months thus spawning the creation of the ED which was really just the EB made perfect and expected it to compete with VR. But sinse then Ford has been about half a model behind till BA then VY 1 was so shit Holden raced out series 2. Which in turn made ford 1 model behind and made holden resale value stink on commodore.

yeah the big thing I've always loved about the inine six tho is its torque. I loved having my ED XR6 being able to do some pretty good performence in it and then being able to wack a boat on the back of it one weekend and tow it with a car load of mates and have the car use bugger all fuel and do the job with very little effort. these V6s Holdens included have never and I doubt ever will pack the torque the 4.0 Inline six has. Look at the old chysler Inline six charger. that thing was fast.

without lifted compression they wont have high torque so thye rely on higher revs to make power and torque work in differnt ways but to much compression kills low down torque its just a thing with v6 motors they cant make high torque without high power that 3.6 should be 230kw 370nm but if you offer that 230kw you need something pretty impressive to replace it with and dont them chyslers still sound the part

I agree wit you except I feel the NA six has its place. For P- platers learning to drive I think an NA six is as powerful as they should need till they on their opens. NA sixes give you the option to still have a butt ton of fun without having something thats a complete monster.

yup they just dont get it. an XR6 is just as big a weapon as the old SS and XR8 models. Bigger weapon when comparing the EBII-ED model. Those things have very very very bad breaks. They are fairly tuff for a car with no airbag but having crashed two of them in my time. You really do have to watch them. not only that having an LSD in a car when its raining will catch most P - platers out and put em into a slide.

the sad things I find about this ad is that most of the car reviews about holden's direct injection motors seem to contradict holden's claims somewhat. Now dont get me wrong currently the SIDI 3.6L V6 finally has more power then fords XR6. But the 3.0 is slower then a stock EA falcon in performence and its fuel consumption is 0.1L less the its 3.6 partner. I think Holden made a huge mistake bringing back the 3.0 six.

the 0-100 time recorded by drive on its fuel and performence test against the 3.0L showed performence times for the 3.0L to be around the 0-100 in 9 seconds if I am not mistaken. the 3.6 L is a beast dont get me wrong. But Holden made a claime about having the most fuel effient six on the market in one of their TV adds at once stage in the 3.0L six. The drive test showed when you put the 4.0L with a 6 speed auto that claim is not actually the case.

biggest issue with small cars is they dont drop economy like large cars on the highway and fact is they have small arse tanks to start with you can get a holden that runs 12l/100 town down to 7 8l/100 on highways small boxes dont do that

and so far the only test that has been done with the sidi v6 is utter garbage driving that no one would do on a full or half tank get them out and about on the roads like everyday driving and we will see because the 3.6lt version was .2 off its sticker claim
