It's all a matter of the perspective one looks at kit-cars. In the past, kit cars were just an inexpensive way to have fun. Nowadays we lost that idea and we want a perfect replica. I totally that the above example is hopeless, but there are better examples by other manufacturers, and when you think that at a little more than the price of a good replica you can get an original, one must als bear in mind the running costs of the original. is on Auto Trader site, there are 5 of them right now

and the least expensive is $69k

while the most expensive is $125k....

@3636jae I don't know the exact facts but Ferrari built the Testarossa's from the mid 80's. The name Testarossa died in 1990, but later Ferrari came back with the 512TR. On Autotrader you can find mid to late 80s Testarossa's for 30-50k, the 512TR's being more powerful and "newer" makes them more expensive than an actual Testarossa.
