Tough luck for Real. It looks like they had more than thier share of chances and controlled New York outside of the lone goal. Just goes to show that you have to capitalize on any chance you can get in footy.

Man, As an RSL fan, this game is still giving me nightmares. Reliving it here has the same effect. It'd be nice to see this intensity (with better finishing) into next season. Great year, guys.

Look!!!! The better team won. NyRB did not hvae much of the ball but at least they put it in the back of the net when they had it.Did you see how they could not finish it in the back of the net!!!! They had like 90% ball possesion so stop making excuses.

that's not really true. NY had a couple breakaways too, so it's not like they did everything right. RSL got extremely unlucky, but that's the way the ball bounces, and you can't do anything but congratulate NY.

i watchted this last night and i was screaming, im a huge red bulls fan and to see them go this far, rsl did a great job, but nyrb deserved it, i was sitting on the end of my chair last night and i got so nervous i had to keep turning it off. AWESOME game, this is why i love soccer.

its an odd system, wild card is out of the whole league, not wester and eastern, so there were two eastern teams that got spots, and NY was the lowest of the two, so they had to move over.
