The Bible talks of many religious celebrations, like Passover. I am sure that celebrating His birth and raising from the dead is just as important. I think it is the commercialism and greed that accompanies the now secular part of the holidays that are the problem. I don't think that not buying into Jehovah's Witness messages means people aren't smart. But that would be a theological debate I don't want to have on youtube at the moment.

LOL.Very good idea. I just usually burn them in the fireplace. My mother in law sent me a 300 page JW book on how to raise children. This years at Christmas,my tree stand broke and we used it to support the tree. LOL. Seems their crap is handier than I thought.

I know exactly what they are. I was raised in a JW family through the 80s. I never got baptized, fortunately, so I drifted out of it and my family is still able to talk to me. I can talk all the shit I want about them and I won't be labeled an "apostate." The sad thing is I think my mom knows I'm right and is too distraught to change her beliefs. She is mentally damaged and desperately wants to see my deceased father in "the new system." Fucked up cult.

It's pretty horrific, actually. People of other religions have the option to really challenge their own beliefs if they choose. JWs do not have that luxury. They live with the threat of being disfellowshiped. Yet, in my congregation, the elders became so corrupt, 5 of them had to step down when the circuit overseer came by. There was child abuse going on and all sorts of stuff my mom never told me about until I was well into my 20s. I was shocked.

a fresh layer. However, if you read them first, and meditate on them,

you will find a level of spirituality not found anywhere else except

speak of....can help you to become a better man and a friend of God.

I don't know if I'd do that. Those pamplets may have subliminal messages in the images. The images I've seen are usually of faces hidden in the clothing. The idea is that this might trigger a subconcious emotional reaction, and to identify the emotional reaction to what you're reading, but I don't know if it's true.
