MB W123 280E 0-100km/h

Are you sure your speedometer is accurate? My 280e reads about 10km/h faster up to about 100km/h then goes up to 20km/h above that (I've only tested to 130 or so...) :P

@3DPeter no, but i love the heavy never ending acceleration from the 2,4 liter diesel 4! might not be fast like this, but you definetly feel it, on 4th gear from 70km/h-110km/h same pressure!

I really love the W123 230E (with automatic same good 0-140km/h acceleration due to lighter weight and a more modern engine) and the 280E. My brother had a slifhtly tuned 280CE with ~200hp.

But sorry, even that really fast one didn´t accelerate that fast, so i think this one shown here in the video must have at least 220-230hp, a leighter wight or something else modified. 7-8 seconds 0-100 is simply TOO fast to believe:)

I've seen them passing by loaded with all kind of things and that thing still went up the hill like a home sick angel!!!

This is so sweet... my father had one in the early 90s and it was the first car I drove.

I remember when I was waiting at a red traffic light with two of my friends in the car. One of them said that an automatic gearbox is shit and can't accelerate fast. I just looked at him, pulled the gear lever to "L" and jammed the pedal to the metal when the lights turned green.

We experienced what you see here and he shut up forever :-)

It does 0-100 in 7,5 seconds..?! That is quite a bit from the official 9,9 seconds.

I have a 280E, the specs of the car brand new said 10 sec to 100kmh, yours is a lot faster since you only have 12 secs of footage....I wonder why :))))))))

My father had one of these back in Indonesia, 1978 280e W123... same car as you have... double carburetors and inline 6 what more can you expect? a shitty fast torquey thrust......
