i was reading this thing in the paper saying if your caught in public smoking it, you will get a 300$ fine and mabey a mis-demeanor charge

On Friday it will be a $100 fine and a civil charge statewide. However that could be changed by the state legislature. That's not likely. But you never know. Another tactic the opposition is taking is to ask the individual cities and towns to pass their own laws. Some might do that. Most cities/towns aren't going to want to make it criminal because they will lose out on the civil fine money. More likely is some will change it to a higher civil fine. Some might be harsh, some not. We will see.

that's not entirely true. like any substance, it effects different people differently.

i actually tend to function BETTER when I'm high. I pay more attention to what I'm doing and I feel less stressed while I'm doing it, so I tend to do a better job. It's more of a motivator to me.

The decriminalized situation in The Netherlands is stupid, and generated more criminal activites by people that do not care for Cannabis at all. The mayors of several cities here in Holland suggested, on a Cannabis 'top' , that they want to have a experiment with government controlled Cannabis growing, for recreational use. The fundamental christian orientated administration refused.

60 to 65% of the Dutch population is for legalization. Strike on coffeeshops will make people hungry here.

What if in protest to the potential for the proceeds from imported marijuana being used for financing human rights violations in their originating countries that all users just stopped buying for a month or two? The estimates are that weed accounts for TRILLIONS of dollars that go towards organized crime like Chinese triads, Colombian Cartels and even Mexico's current civil war. If users just stopped suddenly and without warning for a while, what then?
