@HoGraz No not really, government presents hierarchy and that is wrong and unjust. Unless metaphysics are applied and it is a utopian world, all government is bad government.
@GuillotineSmirk "Unless metaphysics are applied and it is a utopian world, all government is bad government. "
That makes absolutely no damn sense. If the world were uptopian, there would be no need for government. Government represents order, which is a force for good when it's used to suppress the less honourable human traits of greed and lust for power, the issue is not of any/no government, it's about effective, efficient governments.
I put an s on the end lol I did not mean to do that but the one we have now will not help any of us anyway and the rather sad and for the most part damned republican party is not strong enough

Not all christian's are rightists who oppose civil rights, but many of the opinions that erode civil rights are touted as religious beliefs. For example most of the conservatives saying God is against Gay marriage or homosexuality at all.
At the moment, the best person in a position to run the country is Obama. He's not perfect, but he's lightyears ahead of the opposition.

Funny how no one has made a move to change it then. People are still crying because they don't understand the point of the Electoral College and/or just don't want to admit that Gore lost. End of story.
They also thought that without the Electoral College, the highly populated areas would be the only ones to get any attention. New York and LA would be heavily campaigned in if we scrapped the EC. The rest of the Country, even cities like St. Louis or Minneapolis would be ignored because they're just too small to waste time in. With the EC, some guy in Delaware actually has a voice in the election. The EC is not perfect, but it beats the hell out of the alternative.
No they'll campain everywhere, and they wouldn't just focus on swing states. If we elected by popular vote only, the candidates would have to go everywhere to colect votes. They'd go to St. Louis and Minneapolis too. They'd go everywhere to get votes, not just swing states. Another problem is that wotes in wyoming count more than votes in California. Wyoming has 3 votes, and 450,000 people. that's 150,000 people per vote. California has 55 and 35 million people. That's 636,363 per vote.
I'm sad to say that I didn't catch onto the metaphor at all in the beginning the first time I heard it. I thought it was poking fun at society's worshipping of the often mindless entertainment recieved through a television. Oops.

Yeah. I was about to post "how does this have anything to do with Bush?" half way through the video. Luckily I did not. I would have looked like a complete moron. LOL.
Probably because Lincoln had a higher opinion of the voters than most American politicians have had, and it seems like he usually let them in on what he was doing and why.
i agree roy zimmerman is a patriot. he protests against what is wrong and that is patriotic. the founding fathers protested what was wrong and because of that our country is here today. God Bless America
So are you trying to say we should overthrow the government and replace it with one that has some sort of accountability catch that is strictly enforced rather than the lax one we have now, but is in overall inferior to every other government available due to bad construction?
This (the music video I've just watched) may be the first time in history (the documentation of significant occurrences over the passing of time) a joke (metaphor, in this case) was funnier after it was explained.
Well, except for all the times Johnny Carson did it. But then, he was a drummer, so...
