@passion4drums There's nothing wrong with double strokes. It's actually better because you have more options as to how you use them in fills, and you can combine them with singles. It's not shitty, it takes quite a bit more control with doubles.

Dude, these are basic drum fills. The speed isn't even a factor that makes a drummer good. Its the technique. Use your wrists when playing. Wrists and fingers. NOT your arms! I had a bad habit of the for years before I realized what I was doing wrong, and made the change. I play way faster since then. And its so much easier on the arms. When I get my kit setup again, I'll post a demonstration of some more technical death metal drum fills and blasts.

very sloppy blasts!!! Like people say you grip to tight. Not bad but your speed is below average these days. Your timing is ok but nothing impressive. Keep working on it man though! You'll get there! Really best advice is to work on your grip. Losen up and play with fingers to control instead of hitting with wrists and arms. You can still play really hard with right finger technique. I made the switch long ago and trust me it helps!

Then i switched up my grip, to a one a lot like GK's, the pains gone away and its a hell of a lot easier to go fast and i get the same if now more power.

other than solar, they're the cheapest in the sabian line. With cymbals you get what you pay for always. B8s are probably good for the drummer buying their 1st set of cymbals but they are miserable in sound quality compared to Sabian HH or Zildjian As or Ks. It's better to buy 1 or 2 good cymbals instead of 5 crappy ones. But as we know he got these as a gift so its always good to have extra cymbals for free.

I once had a B8 pro 16 inch crash and i loved it. It eventually cracked and fell apart or id still have it. b8 pros are 1 step above b8s in quality but they sound a lot better. they're extremely bright though. depends on your preference.

it really depends on what ur looking at, or what brand you're looking at, i should say. i would really reccommend you going to a store, and just really search for the sound you want. but for me, sabian makes good chinas. Zildjian A through K series have better rides and crashes. iron cobras are preferable for double bass...for people who aren't aware, buy straight stands for chinas, they sound better...and illuminate a fuller sound.
