  • @ruudski Agree completely the sooner Rupert Murdoch dies, the better (He owns The Sun, Sky, Fox, The Times and the news of the world)

  • @DaleisTankRid His son will inherit the empire, and his son is just as right wing as Murdoch is. So, no difference really.

  • since the end of the second world war, only five of the prime ministers have been public school educated, and only three of them have been to the same one (eton). All others have been grammar/state educated. true all but three of them have been oxford-educated, but that is because oxford is very influential in politics.

I was public-school educated myself and I'm doing english at cambridge now. don't knock it, my kind of education is worth it.

  • @ dezboss: Interesting -you have enlightened me as I thought most were public school- Oxford. 'Friends in High Places' says something akin to the Oxford thing, but it was rash of me 2 conclude they were all public school.

Still, I do wish Cameron would find some guts & stop so shamelessly copying Blair.

For the record, I too am Public School educated & a (frustrated) Tory supporter.

I also agree that Public school- Oxbridge is the best way, but I wish it was more egalitarian...

  • Actually I totally agree with you, Cameron is a moderate Blair. I haven't read friends in high places, but I do believe what you're saying.

In fact I do agree with you on the public school thing, while it's great in more respects than it isn't...it does shelter you more than you might think. The real world can be a shock when you first get thrown into it.

If it came down to it, I too am certainly more conversative than I ever could be labour. I'm also frustrated with them at the moment.

  • @tdp1909 I think you'le find that more than 1% of English speaking people are called Brown. Thats not to mention Green and Blue. We can all see how well Oxford has served you

  • @DaleisTankRid I'm not Oxford dude, I'm Leicester. You're right though - it was a silly comment to pick on his surname & completely unnecessary when Brown is a poor PM in so many other ways...

  • Cameron, with his nice little 30 million personal fortune is ready to look after the interests of people with million pound houses and children in private education.

The Tories wheel out their Tony Blair blueprint, but we've seen it all before. Listen to Lord Tebbit, he says don't waste your vote on the mainstreamers

  • @SHOCKELECTRIK Do those people not also deserve representation? While I acknowledge the fact that your comment was posted before the recent election, at this point, it is relevant that Conservatives received the most votes; we shall see after whom this coalition government really does look...
