both laptops are awsome. the reason i bought a qosmio q887 is because of the screen size and the look of it. the keyboard is awsome but the only complaint i have about the qosmio is the left side panel buttons, if your playing something like crysis 2 or dragon age 2 u might accidentally touch the sensitive touch button while using the w a d keys, and the other thing is its a bit heavy to haul around if u plan to go somewhere with it. on the whole its very powerful and can play any game on high.
I honestly lover the fact you can get a more powerful(and affordable) laptop from toshiba. I've taken a look at some of the video cards you get at minimum specs for a Alienware laptop and half of them can't even run Crysis at Max even though they advertise it(All your really paying for is the brand name and the useless lighted up keyboard.) The Toshiba Qosmio however is already able to run most games on higest with just it's lowest prebuilt specs. Keep up the good work toshiba.

I vote the Toshiba Qosimo, it can run FFXIV at 2000+ without being overclocked, and it can hit the 4000+ mark overclocked.. The Alienware can only hit up to 1500+ without being overclocked.. but hits 3000 overclocked..

@Xguardian18 I own an old Qosmio, I can tell it's a piece of shit wich died every 3 months, the video card overheated to death, basically it was a design problem, don't buy toshitba, alienware isn't expensive for nothing.
@FallenPaladin85 what you talking about i had my Qosmio X505 Q888 for about 4-5 months now, still got no issues except for some Drivers i needed to update, and found them on the toshiba website, and i called customer service and by the way, there customer service is awesome quick respond and fix my problems!!
the title of this video really sparked my interest. the alienware m17x is what i originally wanted and the toshiba qosmio x505-q880 is what im now getting. but your video doesnt really compare them at all. you dont even list specs. they're just pictures of the laptops and i already knew what they looked like...
@GCTubaTim actually the asus is wayy better and much cheaper so u can use the extra cash 2 upgrade it in any way the asus will b out on the 21st so not long and i hope this has helped 2 a bit more.
I have ordered an M17x-R2 with ati 5870 I7-720QM... You could probably play ETW at medium-high settings... the gpu on the toshiba is pretty out dated now... get the asus.. its much cheaper and has top of the line GPU currently...
@rayinz101 wow thanks for your response. i looked into it and the asus model seems much better, with 8gb of ram instead of 6, 1TB hard drive instead of 500GB, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 instead of Nvidia Geforce GTS 360m. Plus its like $200 cheaper. Hopefully Toshiba can cancel my order (which is supposed to ship Monday) in time, because I want to order the Asus!
@dail23 i actually took the advice above, cancelled the toshiba order, and ordered the asus g73jh. i'll post a review on that around early to mid june when it gets here

@GCTubaTim, be careful here. Asus does not have Firewire (1394) port, and for some people who do video editing, it is critical function.
If you don't do that kind of things, you will be fine with Asus.
