it is kind of dominating at the 6 th round mark....but anyhow....it was a fair win for lewis, having said that...in the ring after the fight...if you watch the hbo tape..you can see vitali ask lewis for a rematch, lewis nods yes..then vitali asks him to say it into the camra, while gestering to the camra with his gloves hand...lewis..didnt say anything..turned his back nad walked away..thats when vitali started storming....but that tell you...Lewis knew something you dont.

that could be true....allthough its not like Lewis was really showing any "slippage" up until that fight..he looked good aganst tyson in the fight before (of course tyson was shot..but still..he looked damn good doing what he had to do) and he looked great in the rematch aganst rahman...and really, in his younger days.he was kind of sloopy...i would say that the vitali fight wasnt quite prime, it wasnt all that far of prime lewis either.

Ive never been able to tell what a prime lewis actually is, he always looked kind of sloppy (but still a legend none the less) because he fought a good level of opposition throughout his carrer (Morrison, Bruno, Ruddock, Mercer, Tua etc.) and never really got better or worse, its hard to tell but his 3 brutal TKO's of Briggs, Golota and Grant (with his decisions against Holyfield and Mavrovic inbetween, they have iron chins) highlight were i think he was prime.

true....but grant was super overhyped....gotota looked good aganst bowe..but whatever he could due to lewis...well, he didnt do it...much of that was lewis's doing...but some of it seemed to have been that Golota almost froze. The briggs lewis beat was maybe the best briggs....and it was a good win..still lewis had some shakey moments in round 1...(of course the same thing could of been said about Joe Louis in some of his fights) anyhow. Lewis was great, but hard to judge how great.

I felt the Vitali fight wasn't far from prime at all, i agree. If not, right on. Physically, IMO, He was still a mint condition fighter, but possibly his discipline was a bit different at that stage.. hence people say he was a fat version of himself. The tools were still there though, definitely.
