I didn't get what this song was about until 3:05. Not trynna be a hater, as i've been an Olu Maintain fan form Day 1, BUT the song is just a disaster and the message could have been carried out in a better way! I'm actually baffled as to why it got so many views!
@ademariam How can you open your mouth to say this classic is a disaster. Abeg park well please, see correct tune, you dey yarn opata.. Five star song, five star women, five star video!!! What else do you want? You are a hater abeg!
Come on man!! How can you tell whether those 'white' chicks have no black grandparents and such? That's just like saying no albinos in African videos!!. There's no need to counter hate...revenge is not an African way
BEFORE ANY OTHER MUTHERFUCKING RACIST OR TRIBALIST POST A COMMENT, JUST KNOW THAT U R GOING TO HELL, THIS FUCKING VIDEO HAS ALL KINDS OF GIRLS IN IT WHAT THE FUCK DO U HATERS WANT? GAD DAMN IT!!!
what's the name of the song at the end?? This song is tooooo Live and all the race talk is rubbish on here. Olu maintain made a seriously good song had beautiful women of different creeds, you could close your eyes and still enjoy the song if it's that much of a problem this song is great!
I see no problems having these girls on a video jor! If Naija girls were used, how many of them would be comfortable to shake their booty like the girl in pink with "NAWTI" inscribed..... skip to .41s to .47s #Girl is hawt! Hian!
@ azigiola please stop sounding like ignorant republicans. reverse racist means not being racist. You mean stop being racist which on tht note i agree with you.I admire all women they all inspire.P.S. 90% of the women r nigerian and part of it was filmed in lagos(just little info). abeg u guys should stop all the arguments and rather think of how the "NWATI" will "te'le eh" to ur house..... the song is muah! nice one olu, wonder were tolu is?
@ndu1gaza And "what I call white' I've already said a many times to ppl including azigola that Its not about race/color....Its about the mis-representaion of the video of who we are as true Africans and that were showcasing to the world. The video about the term NAWTI and made it look like NAUGHTY instead. They didnt show anything "African" which is quite unfair to the idea theyre trying to market.
@babegurl821 ....sense, that't what u'r cooking. just like skuki's 'BANGA'! or 'STAMINA', 'NAWTI' in this context means 'NAUGHTY'! unless the 'totally inspiring' means 'super sexy hot n irresistible'!
@azigiola This is a mis-representation of what the African Woman Virtue stands for. this kinda song and video does not justify the content of the NAWTI (Natural African Women Totally Inspiring) theme itself . Maybe it does justify the word NAUGHTY but not NAWTI. It loses focus when we trying to tell the world about WHO WE ARE as true AFRICANS . My mother and your mother are the true African women , we are the DILUTED version mixed with western mentality . the video didnt show anything African
I think that is where you are wrong. This video reps what Africans are about. We are extremely homely, friendly, accommodating to everybody regardless of where they are from... White, black blue, green or yellow. An African virtue i will never forget is that the "typical African" will offer his bed to a visiting stranger. Where did all this brotherhood go? That is why we are disunited!!!
@azigiola Not exactly. I'm not against the fact that he used woman other than black. I'm not saying there's a "typical african" (I had a conversation about that with someone) Lots of Naija musicians use woman of other color and still deliver their message of the meaning of the song they're selling. Its the fact that There's a mis-representation of what Nawti is. Its like the video is justified as NAUGHTY but not NAWTI. I like the song, But the video showing what Nawti stands for messes it up.
@azigiola The song is good with cool tempo but would've been better if such wasnt presented to the world to showcase how inspiring the african woman can be. However, there is nothing inspiring as an african seeing my mothers shaking their butts to kpalongo in clubs . This is def. a good song for the young westernized chics but doesnt represent ''An african woman standing tall for herself against all odds and pressures from her environment'' as per the NAWTI ideology/concept...
@azigiola the video didnt show anything African is quite unfair to the idea they're trying to market. Its a great song for hoes/hoodrats that love shakin their ass. Thats why theres a lot of beef towards this video.
Its not really about race or color. Its about the misinterpretation of the video of who we really are as true Africans and that were showcasing to the world.
In that case, i understand what you mean. People should say what they mean and not criticize the fact that the video has non- Africans in it. Which was what i initially spoke against.
@azigiola I'm not talking about what Africans are about. I'm talking about Olu maintain's representaion of NAWTI. Olu can make a fun video with all women of all colors and races of the world dancing at a party/club together and show how friendly, fun-loving, inviting, and homely Africans are. He also could still use those same women and show what a TRUE African woman is. I'm not saying they gotta be a certain race. Its just the way they represented NAWTI. and made it look like NAUGHTY
@legendstunt You must've been sleeping when you watched the video. There were actually more than one. about 8-10. 2 Asians and White girls at 0:38, 0:56 and 1:06, 1:10, 1:25 walking with Natalie. 2:20, 3:22,
@babegurl821 You actually need to look deeper and notice that what you call whites are Africanized ladies of other races. There is no pure Asian here. Every one of them has a mix of black except 1 lady in my opinion and for all I care she could be white South African/Zimbabwean whom are still Africans and represented in the NAWTi concept. I think Olu's, just like Tufaces' use of "African" not "Black" eliminates the race thing which is broad and smart.
@ndu1gaza Bawoni. Actually I'm not from anyone of those countries. I'm Nigerian as you can see, And taking notice on how Naija videos showcase us Africans.
And you have no significant proof to back up your comment. You cant just watch a video and say, "oh those whites are "africanized" How do you know? Did you scan their identity just by watching? And mixed race or not they still Asian. cuz they have Asian in them. ...
@ndu1gaza I didnt make any negative comment that they used white women. Many ppl on this page have made comments about using white women anyway. For all I care they can use the same white women and still show us what the TRU AFRICAN WOMAN is. After all white women are also in Africa. abi?... I already made a comment about the fact that other Naija artists use women of other races which is nothing new. Yeah 2face made his African Queen hit used all black girls...
@ndu1gaza And Olu maintain- Nawti (Natural African Woman Totally Inspiring) Its similar to African Queen. 2face coulda still used women of other races & deliver what he meant about African Queen. If Olu's motive was to have booty shakin around and girls half dressed, than he coulda just used a club/party theme. Which woulda been much better to rep. how diverse Africa is and welcoming to other races like ppl stated. And wouldnt mis-represent African woman. NAWTI and Naughty Smh. Odabo.
Cheiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !!!! Olu maintain don cause me addiction O...... 4:00am and still listening to this song since 9pm and I am not getting tired. Who be the babe in pink panties from 0:37 to 0:49...Kaiiiiiiiiiii !!..This song made me fall all over in love with NAW (Natural African Women).....5 stars Olu...Very good job here.... This is music........Just Maintain, toast to NAWTi and listen to Olu.
@SuperQueenofAfrica LOL.....Africa has whites in certain places, like in South Africa. This video shows the warm warmheartedness of the average African. Tender and welcoming to other races.... and other races can be in denial all they want. The end message is NAWTi ...The Natural African Woman , is Totally inspiring. And when Africans get married to people of other races, we make them Africans also...so NAWTi NAWTi is driving the message.
@SuperQueenofAfrica LOL!, i see you can't recognize a Caucasian person when you see one, the girls in this video are BLACK, i only saw one white chic in the whole video...and yea badass song!
@MrSwitzy I dont know what video you watched, but I counted 4. But that is not what matters. This video has a lot of different girls in it. Now stop complaining.
guess he meant totally inspiring in beauty and body shape. we dont need a video to enforce that pleeeeeeease. just enjoy the video and lyrics......lolololololol
riding like kawasaki.olu did it yet again.this song is the hottest in 2012 no doubt or is it the video, maybe it is the yoruba lyrics(personality,e tun wo bobi),nice humour jare.
Thats why this Nawti song is being confused with Naughty esp. with Natalie N. as lead from Bad Girls Club. So why should this video not be confused with "naughty." The song is great. but the video isnt quite clear. They didnt deliver the message about the word "Nawti". Natalie isnt an African woman and she isnt inspiring. Some ppl may like her bcuz of her looks, but she's not inspiring and doesnt fit the "nawti" description. But she fits the "naughty" description though.
@saraliciousize "A video that ppl won't fancy" "How would they make money" 2face made his African queen hit song. That made LOTS of money and was even feat. in the Phat Girlz movie. It even got him an interview and an AWARD. The African Queen hit song is similar to what is descrimed as NAWTI: " Natural African Woman Totally Inspiring. You don't need bitchy sluts to "make money" for they're Not "inspiring women" in a positive aspect. Maybe to you and some other ppl...
Never been US or SA but this is defo us, for once olu maintain has made a tune i actually enjoy, being a video director I can only luv this video, only fualt here is the African women totally inspiring part, like WTF?
Ok.... let me get this straight. The song is called NAWTI: Natural African Woman Totally Inspiring. What purpose does a biracial, hispanic or white lady play in a video about "Nawti" Natural African Woman Totally Inspiring. There should be a pure African Woman playing the lead role, not a lady like Natalie Nunn; An actual Naughty bitch from Bad Girls Club. Whats so inspiring about that? So what impression was Olu tryna make. NAWTI? or NAUGHTY? Of course they just wanna make money as usual. : /
@kamari2hot Shut the fuck up asshole. I made my own point about whether he was making an expression about NAWTI or NAUGHTY. and you come here with your stank mouth. fuck off.
@babegurl821 yes they wanna make money! if they make a video that people wont fancy how will they feed and pay their bills. whether you like it or not will not put food on their table, so stop being childish!
@saraliciousize No one's being childis. You say it as if I'm the only one who made a comment about him using Natalie Nunn in his video. "Making money" Lots of Naija musicians like 2face & D'banj can make a better video than this and still make money. And even if he wanted to use oyinbo in his video there are lots of other ladies besides Nataie that he coulda uses. I have no prob about him not using an African girl. But Natalie N. kinda made the meaning of the video poinltess.....
@saraliciousize Now its like Nawti, or Naughty. And you know I've got a point in my last comment I made. I'm not the first person who made that comment anyway. Besides he said it meant Natural African Totally inspiring, so what which makes it even more pointless using Natalie Nunn. If you wanna send a message in a video make it make sense.
God punish those who dislike this beautiful, extra ordinary, fantastic video production, they will never appreciate good things... This is the best video ever!! Olu baba, I gat your back all the way from Washington DC!!. I see some stupid racist comment complaining bout why not Nigerian.. Olu baba make me understand that people in that video are 90% Africa.. I love Nawti to death.. Wo n to fi se ibadi, personality e tun wo bobby.. I don see this video more 100 time. .Peace baba
I can't stop watching the video the ladies are killing me with those thing they are shaking.. Ieave lie this video is one of the best 9ja video ever and am proud to show my friends to watch the video... Quality video with good full African ladies am so proud to be Nigerian
Owo buruku lo wo owo Olu i swear............i have raped this video, outta d over 100thousand views i think i have like 25thousand views lool....nice one olu.............
Olu... uhmmnn lovely music but open your eye.. the girl on the left hand side isn't black, na wetin you want make we believe for all this Nawti Nawti now ?
I expected Olu maintain to be smart enough to know that a song like NAWTI, it should have inspiring women in the video not girls shaking their butts. There's no group of men that degrade their women like black men do. It's a shame. Is there a time, when a black woman will be praised for her brain, not her big butt or what's between her leg. Just foolishness.
@Therealtruth101ful he is praising a beautiful woman from the lyrics not really her brains.......so putting a female dressed in suit would really be out of place considering the lyrics!!!
Just listened to the Factory 78 interview with Olu Maintain (find it on youtube), and he mentioned that 4 of the girls were actually Nigerian, and what do we mean, that can't our Naija ladies be as beautiful, and even more than those in the video? That, why are we so quick to put down anything crisp and fresh, ah ah, can't it be Nigerian? Nna mehn, the guy just makes sense. "Why show your naivety in public"? -Mr. Maintain. Our women are beautiful, stop the hatiiiiing! <3 - NAWTi lady. ;)
Woooow I am VERY VERY VERY impressed, Nigeria is making movements!! And natalie nunn is in this video? I almost choked on my food when I saw her, well done guys! I am now a fan!
Nice

Ok.... let me get this straight. : /

@babegurl821 get the entire fuck outta here b
kamari2hot 1 week ago
@kamari2hot Shut the fuck up asshole. I made my own point about whether he was making an expression about NAWTI or NAUGHTY. and you come here with your stank mouth. fuck off.

@kamari2hot Speak for yourself asshole! You dont know what everyone does. Go fuck a Pig.
babegurl821 1 week ago
@babegurl821 yes they wanna make money! if they make a video that people wont fancy how will they feed and pay their bills. whether you like it or not will not put food on their table, so stop being childish!
saraliciousize 1 week ago
@saraliciousize No one's being childis. You say it as if I'm the only one who made a comment about him using Natalie Nunn in his video. "Making money" Lots of Naija musicians like 2face & D'banj can make a better video than this and still make money. And even if he wanted to use oyinbo in his video there are lots of other ladies besides Nataie that he coulda uses. I have no prob about him not using an African girl. But Natalie N. kinda made the meaning of the video poinltess.....
babegurl821 1 week ago
@saraliciousize Now its like Nawti, or Naughty. And you know I've got a point in my last comment I made. I'm not the first person who made that comment anyway. Besides he said it meant Natural African Totally inspiring, so what which makes it even more pointless using Natalie Nunn. If you wanna send a message in a video make it make sense.

Olu... uhmmnn lovely music but open your eye.. the girl on the left hand side isn't black, na wetin you want make we believe for all this Nawti Nawti now ?
wolianbrain 2 weeks ago
I expected Olu maintain to be smart enough to know that a song like NAWTI, it should have inspiring women in the video not girls shaking their butts. There's no group of men that degrade their women like black men do. It's a shame. Is there a time, when a black woman will be praised for her brain, not her big butt or what's between her leg. Just foolishness.
Therealtruth101ful 2 weeks ago
@Therealtruth101ful he is praising a beautiful woman from the lyrics not really her brains.......so putting a female dressed in suit would really be out of place considering the lyrics!!!

The girl In pink Panties is half Nigerian and
A scene in that Video was short in oriental Hotel In Lagos so please STFU
I can't believe cos something is so High Class we Nigerians instantaneously think this cannot be Nigerian, some of you Disgrace
Gods1mbad 2 weeks ago 2
Just listened to the Factory 78 interview with Olu Maintain (find it on youtube), and he mentioned that 4 of the girls were actually Nigerian, and what do we mean, that can't our Naija ladies be as beautiful, and even more than those in the video? That, why are we so quick to put down anything crisp and fresh, ah ah, can't it be Nigerian? Nna mehn, the guy just makes sense. "Why show your naivety in public"? -Mr. Maintain. Our women are beautiful, stop the hatiiiiing! <3 - NAWTi lady. ;)
