  • speak easy opened my mind to a whole new world of artists.it was a superb show.Chip Monck is a rock legend.woodstock emcee, worked for the Stones...wow.

  • One thing I remember from watching this when it aired was that Mike and Al jammed at one point with Al on guitar and Mike on piano.

  • I join in with other voices hoping that Speakeasy gets posted.

I caught many of the shows in the day, including this one.

I regret that I joined the episode late with a "glammed out Eno."

    Fond memories of this show.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Great stuff from when the hair was long and the balls where big!!!

  • for live bloomfield try wine, the electric flag

  • Wish I'd been old enough to see this

when it followed SNL on Ch. 4 at 1am

    back in the day.

  • Yes, it was a good show. I watched it and recorded the audio. No video for the non professional at the time. It was something to watch Bloomfield take over the show and actually eat fire at the end. Great stuff. The other shows were great also, I am hoping the video will appear someday.

  • If if was only about a dozen shows, that DVD set has to surface one of these days....! There's a DVD I woudn't mind

    firing up at 1AM!

  • Buzzy's solo on Where did my Baby Go is something every guitar player should hear and learn from, and I saw him do it live many times and it just got better and better...Butter loved it when Buzzy went out like that...

  • I knew Buzzy when he was like 18 years old and played with Butterfield already, he had a black ES and he took it out to the heavens, played incredibly even then, with Rod Hicks on Bass who played for Aretha on Respect and Ray Charles, Dave Sanborn, that band was incredible..Steve Mideao (sp?) who later played for Stevie Wonder Very Superstitious just the best..

  • The Butter Band with Buzz is great stuff. So far there are 3 tunes around on video of that band at Woodstock, Buzz plays some great solos.

  • I saw this showed when it first aired live still remember it, at the end Mike and Alvin jammed and Michal gave Alvin a guitar lesson and Alvin Lee was no chump but Michael was always in his own league...

  • Yep, Michael was something special. When I saw this show, I realized it's in your fingers, not equipment. MB took Alvin's guitar and it sounded great, not that dark tone that Alvin had. SpeakEasy was a great show with a lot of interseting guest, Grace Slick for one.

  • I have just listened carefully to this-sorry-it is without any merit whatsoever-Catskills Summer Camp?-bet their Moms loved it!

Buzz doesn't rate himself as a guitar player-so we aren't guided by him!!-Keep it Polite-and Keep the Faith(Buzz)

  • This is appalling,Feiten fan-do you know what Buzz'z opinion of MB was?

    It's from a Bar Mitzvar?-all participants approx 8 years old?-no matter-it is ghastly-

  • Oy Vey !! You are confused. I don't care what Buzz's opinion about another musician is. I can arrive at my own opinion, which is Bloomfield was one of the best blues players ever. Over the years people I have traded Bloomfield things with always appreciated it. This YouTube thing seems like a good way for others to hear it. Wish I had the video, I am hoping this video post would flush one out. Arrive at your own opinion of musicians and don't rely on others, Buzz included, to influence you.

  • i love this song

  • When is THIS show going to surface in a DVD set? It would be the perfect supplement to the season 1 SNL kit, since in 1975, it aired

on WNBC-4 in NYC at 1AM, immediately following...!

  • I wish it would, the whole series. I seem to remember one episode with Grace Slick. I thing there were about 12 shows or so of "SpeakEasy".

  • O.K, so who do we track down & contact about this....? Someone must have those shows...

    According to author/historian Hal Erickson,

this syndicated show was distributed by

    the J. Walter Thomson Co.

  • SWEET !!!!!

  • amazing.Great trio

  • very nice! Thanks.
