@QueenKnightofHearts The Academy would laugh at Katherine "Kate" Hepburn laughing at Streep as they thought Streep was so good they even put her in the same category of Actresses one year.

Meryl Streep always has seemed me a as insipid actress as indigestible. I do not understand the world-wide success of it's tearful eyes, their pucheritos and their liking to imitate accents, of its face of boiled cabbage Everything in her remembers the spirit of a vegetable broth. When I knew in a called series holocausto, one is asked, if the Nazis tried to take it to the gas chambers, or at heart, to put it in a pot express to do boiled of potatoes.
This scene is SO realistic! My parents met each other for the first time like that (neither of them was married) and I met my boyfriend the same way too...the awkwardness, looking down, long pauses, tongue slipping,it's all there and it's all real.
This is one of my favorite from Meryl Streep and Robert DeNiro they have so much chemistry!! My favorite part is when she trying clothes for their date and she looks and says "what are you doing?" Its priceless.. because everyone at one point feel guilty over their actions and still we do it!!
Oh so love this clip I have commented on your other post. As I said this brings back both happy and sad memories for me, because this actually happened to me. I adore this film so very much. So much. Thanks for posting it, the copy of the film I have has had it now, so finding this today was for me just brilliant. Thank you
This is an adorable scene, both hide behind the sentence: "I married", to avoid the embarrassment. They are shy, embarrassed, natural. But the best scene is at bookstore.
Streep De Niro the best American actors since 70'.
They dont make them like this anymore.
Beautiful film.
They were so god together.

Meryl Streep reminds me so much of her daughter Mamie in this scene (or the other way around)
D9l3tt 3 years ago 2
Meryl Streep was the picture of her daughter when she was younger. It's uncanny.
