ok, I won´t argue. I have played almost 40 years. Check the written notation in the Scots Guards standard settings of pipe music. Anybody else out there care to name this 6/8 Jig
I have been in a bluegrass band for 13 years, it ain't the breakdown... it is pleasant and well played, but it is not the banjo breakdown, sorry. This a very much played Scottish tune, one that can be found on CDs by Gordon Duncan and so on.
@apologeticsman It's banjo breakdown for sure, you're thinking of some other tune, maybe foggy mountain breakdown(bluegrass) I don't know, but this is banjo breakdown. Not well played.
I've tried following it as best as I can, but I still don't feel like I'm doing any progress... I can't get any form of rythm into it. I mean, I can do the changes, the embellishments and the triplets, but I cant get it to sound like an actual tune, not even a slow one... It's like the embellishments sound too slow when I take it all down in speed, and that somehow messes with the rythm... Oh well, I'll keep trying and we'll see where it leads :)
Excellent performance, very good indeed! I like the intro, with the triplets speeding up. It's nice with a little bit of creativity.
I'm currently learning this tune myself, and I'm having major difficulties getting it all upp to speed... Wicked hard tune this is! But I'll keep working and then, hopefully, some day I too will have mastered it!
nice cut out. very well played though

High a sharp close youre doublings a little on C, your strikes on F & E as to keep the flow otherwise it sounds a little labored

that is not the banjo breakdown... I don't remember the name of the piece, but it is a traditional pipe piece

Thank you very much bfb88. The trick is to keep your cuttings clean before speeding up when you learn the tune.
