I'm singing this song tonight with the only real Aussie Blues brothers tribute. Briefcase full of blues its an awsome number and cant wait for the lads to rip it out.
sorry interrupted, Belushi was a drummer with a band for a couple of years, dan a super harmonica player. The band in OZ of course had Steve Potts these days, and Lester Snell took the keys. Wonder if theyd put this song on the next album?
yeah mwolf49, crop was saying earlier this year, both guys were musicians in their own right, drums and harp. And they refused to make the movie unless THEIR musicians (Crop n Duck) were in it.
according to the info by the guy who submitted it, this was the only time they did this song, and this was their last concert before john died, so i guess this is a one-off recording. especially as this is a bootleg
Matt Guitar Murphy, Steve Cropper and Donald Duck Dunn could flat out rock. I never thought of the Blues Brothers as a contrived band just to make films. This was incredibly tight music . .something sorely lacking from today's stuff. Blue eyed soul mixed with the roots of the Delta blues. So kids, if ya wanna learn how to make an impact with your music, study the masters. This. .is what it SHOULD sound like.
Sorry man, hope you saw them. They were with Guy Sebastian (see above). Packed houses, top reviews. U remember when Ray Charles shot at the kid in Rays shop when the kid was about to grab the guitar? Steve Cropper sd in interview in OZ that it was 1 of HIS guitars! & that it took weeks to wash the sugar glass (from the bottles) out of his hair. Remember them smashing the chicken wire? If u missed the shows, u missed out bigtime.1 Reviewer said it was 'the perfect concert' (& he was a metal head).
An authentic American homegrown and homedelivered original cultural burst from what was quite a special time: 1980 - just before Ronald Reagan came along the line to pull up the cultural shutters and to turn the soul and the groove into fear and agression against communism. Remember it with your vote.

aaaahhhhh, 2 be young. amd not know about all the shit things that have happened. john belushi died, yes, but worse dan aykroyd thought that john goodman was a suitable replacement just 2 make sum cash. should have used john's bro, jim, he was good in the stuff i saw him do with the blues bros.
Sounds like it's in a small club, not an amphitheater...

It's a damn shame this wasn't caught on film... but great quality sound nonetheless

They should've sang this in the movie. The Rascals rock! Belushi and Aykroyd did the song justice, and gave their own personal spin on it.

It's a good boot that's RUINED by that guy with the nervous laugh. Someone needs to track him down and throttle the prick.
