The yogurt didn't turn out too well, so I made it again with fat free mayo. It seriously tasted as decadent as when using real mayo. The green onions are the key, however. Once again, Chef John has the winning formula!
Ah! You nearly stole my expression! I say 'bleurgh' all the time. I say that it uses subliminal messaging, as 'gruel' is spelt backwards in it. So, instead of saying that work was grueling, I say work was bleurghish. One geeky comment from one social deviant to another.
actually, theres a grocery store in arizona that sells this mayonaise alternative. its all natural, tastes real, and feels real. oh, and it has no cholesterol (i think thats how you spell it)
What do you think about replacing half of the yogurt with low fat sour cream? It probably wouldn't be quite as yogurty and it might make the dressing a little looser.
great post chef john i will give that a shot! i just made a couple of days ago the german potatoe salad it is very good made it with 3 stage onion rings and bbq spare ribs.
@SAPPHO Lol definitely don't want to cut back on potato salad.

I like a sweeter potato salad. This sounds wonderful, but I'd add a little sweet relish and some dill. >.>

I'm not really a fan of Big Yellow mustard. Would spicy brown or honey mustard work as well in this?

Leafy greens are ideal sources of beta carotene and vitamins A and are rich in fiber.

I wish they'd come up with a low-fat mayonaisse that didn't taste or feel like industrial paste.

Total props for anyone who will experiment with food.
For instance, I've often wondered who was the blessed maverick who first put bananas and peanut butter together. :D
I enjoy your vids a lot. Thanks.
