  • My friend, this video is great. You are great. Louisville KY is great (My Hometown). Coal is great. Coal Forever.

  • I have respect for all these hard working men and women. And for them and all their families let's take them out of the mines and into the sunshine of solar power.

  • K now I really gotta know.. how is my hubby that works in a Colorado Coal mine in this video? this is really interesting.... good video

  • Hey great video, and a real awesome pic @3:23.

  • TOTALLY inappropriate song for this video. wtf?

  • Lets go GREEN!

  • @georgiewilliam SURE...WE COULD DO THAT...THEN 52% OF AMERICA WOULD HAVE NO POWER. THINK ABOUT IT...YOU COULD POSSIBLE BE ONE OF THOSE IN THE DARK

  • @georgiewilli Good for you!!

  • Nice video. I worked for Island Creek & Consol coal co. in Va for over 30 years

  • @36962able

  • people need to really think one this one awhile, i have lived around mines all my life as a matter of fact its a way of life... and if u treehuggin' ***&^%$#, don't like it then sit in the dark!!!

  • my hat is off to you wonderfull video,i work for Fox Knob Coal Company

  • great video, but the song?... lol

  • I listen to this song when my man is underground-reminds me how much he loves his family that he would do such dangerous hard work to provide for us in a poverty stricken area where ANY work is hard to come by! My hat's off to all the men (and the few women) who do this daily! Keep lookin out for each other, it's what us wives count on when we kiss our good byes!

  • @queenpunkr reminds me to make the best of his one night off a week!

  • ok im a coal miner and been one fer over 3 years i work in a small coal minein town in Virginia,im a pinner man and this is a nice video and all but god dam why in the hell did you use that song

  • @fordman8934 Thank you! Good lookin' out!

  • @fordman8934 my ancestors started of working in coal mines in west virginia in the 1850's and I'm interested in learning more about coal mining history in the US. Do you have any books to suggest? Man that looks like hard work. regarding the song. lol

  • THIS SONG.

    WHAT. THE. HELL.

  • THIS SONG. WHAT.

  • Coal miners are the hart and soul of our country. (but this song....)

  • ya its the wrong song for a coal mining video i work in Indiana but good video

  • @1982jmw Check out my Tribute to miners, music by the miners brass bands. Watch the opening video, it leads to the miners struggle to keep their coal mines open in the U.K.Fraternal greetings from the Yorkshire ex-coalfields!

  • I see why you put the song on there, because it's called "down". But it doesn't fit the video it will probably offend a lot of people.

  • Thanks for posting. I had no idea that 1000 watts of electricity over an hour costs only 8 cents - No wonder we are burning a hole in the sky!! ,,,And that makes the lyric in the song 'even if the sky is falling down' even more ironic,

  • That's funny. My girl lives in Wise and I live in Bristol (for the moment) but both our hubbies work in Applachia at guest mtn.

  • My best friend and I are both the wives of coal miners in Virginia. I think this song goes great with this video and personally think this you did a fine job!

  • @queenpunkr

What part of Virginia? 50% of the photos I shot in Wise and Appalachia, Virginia. I worked there last summer.

And thanks for the positive comment! I also have the username of leroymoorejr on here as well.

    LeRoy

  • I have ALOT of respect for coal miners. I used to live in harlan ky and I have a bunch of friends taht work underground and I respect them a great deal!!!

  • Awesome video LeRoy. I was definitely moved by it. I personally "GET" your choice for the music. I suppose some people can only listen with their ears only and not with their hearts as well. Pity for them. Thank you for sharing.

  • why the hell would you put that song on a coal mining video?

  • I suppose it was a horrific mistake. I thought I might check out your videos and see how it's done (maybe pick up some pointers) however you have no videos for me to watch!

The song is "Down" by Jay Shawn. Like down deep mining underground? And maybe even the women that love them? Still don't get it?

I actually did not think I would ever have to interpret that one. But apparently I did. Oh well....

  • @TheMusichawg Nice to hear someone actually listen to the lyric....just shows the ignorance of everyone else who makes a big deal of it...:)

  • @aoclimber1 That's what I was thinking.

  • @aoclimber1 Dont you know DisCoal music when you hear it? Coal mining keeps the lights on in the night clubs all over USA.

  • Great video!
