I watched the DVD at home and followed the list when I bought the hardware. As pointed out in previous comments, the angle braces need to be 66" long not 48". In addition, you need twice as many bolts, washers and nuts. Directions to get the table and train layout started, too bad there are these two small errors.
@bennyg11111 Ah! I wish I saw this forst. I'm just about finished following this video and came across the same problem. I moved my legs inside to another corossbeam of the table and the 48" work, but I need to got to the hardware store for 4 more bolts, wing nuts, etc to finish it. Hopefully the positions of the legs won't make it too narrow of a base - but at least I can readjust it of I need to.
I think it's alot simpler tp put cross braces across instead of at an angle, because I agree with the other poster they got to be longer than 48 inches. And if you need to access the table from under you can just remove the top cross brace instead both braces from 1 side.
fok HELP ME with the part of the hole in the 2X2 for legS!
T-nuts....what size should use and what u call the leveler i can find the word..sorry im french ! haha no joke !
T-nuts size = ?
Bolt or levelers size= ?
where can i get t-nut! (not beter use hex-fix t-nuts?)
thanks in advance ! im new with this and try figure it out the best way to build my own piece with the space i got but that leveling leg....AMAZING IDEA!!! 5-stars video
I just put my layout on milk crates, then if it has to be moved or sold it can be turned on its side and carried out. See Train Set 2 and Hortmanville Train Set 3.
It says they're supposed to be 48 inches long. But the distance between the two sets of legs is longer than 48 inches, isn't it? By my math it's 64 inches. So the cross braces, if they are at an angle, would have to be even longer.
There is a left over of plywood strips. I believe it is possible to use them. I think I will. Just to really beef this table up. I used 3/4 inch plywood. So i got some weight here.
This was an excellent video, thank you! I agree however, the only issue I had building my table from this video was the 48 inch molding, it is much longer than that. But again, thanks again for the video!

This was a very good video and I was able to follow easily. The braces do need to be much longer than 48". That was my only issue.

this video has parts on it that do things very hard work, the legs for example... wooden beams is what i use on my layout for the legs

@sigzor85 My mistake. You must place the cross braces at an angle just like video shows for strong stability.

I have a question about the cross braces.
It says they're supposed to be 48 inches long. But the distance between the two sets of legs is longer than 48 inches, isn't it? By my math it's 64 inches. So the cross braces, if they are at an angle, would have to be even longer.
