  • Also, I came listening to the guitar solo.

  • The (first?) boss for this music was so ugly, I though it was such a waste. :( But the fight was epic.

  • I DISLIKED BECAUSE THE SONG NEEDS TO BE LONGER ! hehe no JK JK , I really love this song. :3))

  • i just played ar tonelico, and this song is played when the protagonists are retrieving luca's mind

  • Do any of you guys know why there are so many "bird" words in hymnnos songs?

  • @ludosfaverus

Well, it just might be that you happened to be listening to singing of a certain Reyvatail... who is fond of using the word "bird" in her songs. ;)

  • @haiiroyui oh I thought it was based on a legend like Rhaphlanca or Harvestasya :D

  • Three people...

...don't like made up languages? I don't know why else you'd click 'dislike'.

  • Love the part at the start of 1:38, so gentle.

  • dafuq....

why this beautiful song has a discuss about mule being compared with hitler?

  • .... Okay, I just noticed the weirdest thing.

Listen to that part from 0:20 to 0:23.... and compare it with Survival Examination from Naruto OST II.

Do I hear a trifle of similarity or what? : O

  • @Holcifio it's actually from the score of hymnos language..

that language contain a music melody too..

    :)

  • @Holcifio

Not just a trifle. It seems to be exactly that... I would hazard to guess they sampled that bit from Survival Examination.

  • Mir proves to everyone that Flatter is Hotter

  • Well, first off Luca is supposed to be Gaea, not Cloche. As far as the manga is concerned anyway. But I'm pretty sure they both understand normal hymmnos. From what I understand you undertsand basic hymmnos when you awaken as a revatail.

  • @MagiNosferatu The manga came after the games, so it really has no relevance in terms of plot here.

  • Anyone else wonder how Cloche could be affected by this song? Jacqli is singing this song in the general Hymmnos Dialect...Yet Cloche can't understand normal Hymmnos, and only In/Outputs in New Pastalia Dialect.

  • @Darknightleo18 IPDs can understand the normal Hymmnos dialect without a problem, Infel Phira acts as an emulator and instantly translates any Hymmnos dialect into New Pastalia for IPDs, making it understandable. It's weird, but that's why they can use any word from any dialect in their hymns, but the ones added to the Third Tower after the Grathnode Inferia.

  • @BetaTypeJakuri Ah, alright. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Don't know where I heard the whole can't-understand-regular-hymmnos thing from, then. :x

  • @Darknightleo18 maybe it comes from the fact that normal Reyvateils, like Luca, can't understand New Pastalia? It would've made just as much sense for IPDs to be in the same situation with normal Hymmnos if not for the instant-translator thingy.

  • Das Lied ist voll schön *__*

    Love it

  • wat does hitler have to do with this song. yea nothing

  • Was yea ra mea kiafa sarla

  • @Ginobi666 Was yea erra mea kiafa sarla (:

  • I cry cause I imagine too much when I watching the lyrics

  • you know godwin's law actually exists when you see it apply to something as obscure as ar tonelico -.-

  • Jesus, guys, get over it. You're comparing a real life historical figure to a fictional magical singer born and raised in a fictional magical world. Do you realize how much that makes almost no rational sense at all? Besides, Mir went through actual traumatizing shit, Hitler on the other hand was just an angry emo because he got rejected by an art school and suddenly blamed all of his misfortune on the Versailles Treaty. That's that so you should leave it at that.

    END OF DISCUSSION.

  • @ojamajokaori Calm down, Jesus : / We're just having a normal debate, no one's over reacting except you < _ <

  • this song is really good I've got all the songs from the series ar tonelico 2

  • "Click on song" Well this is a nice song

"Looks at comments, sees discussion about Hitler" what the hell guys

  • I went on an Ar Tonelico Hymnos marathon the other day thus listening to ALL of the hymns... among all the Hymnos that i listen to, this is the best

  • what language is this?

  • @bobjimjones its hymnos

  • i listened to this song about 12 times non stop before making this comment

  • LOL Neph9, LOL. That comment is just hilarious, I thought exactly the same! xD

Mir is nothing like Hitler, because she is - as much as I got to know her in At2 - a good person deep inside. Now stop comparing my beloved Mir to that unrelated dude!

  • the songs and the games are too awesome to stop especially all the songs i can never get them out of my head.

  • 3 people are viruses :P

  • Is the singer actually singing in Japanese and the Hymmlish is just Japanese dialogue respelled and spaced out differently?

  • @HackedStats Nope, it's a completely different language.

    Check out conlang.wikia.com/wiki/Hymmnos

  • >click on a link

    >oh great, I love this song

    >scroll down, discussion about Hitler

    what the fuck guys.

  • @Neph9 LMAO WHAT +1

    HOW DO YOU EVEN

    OHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOODDD!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS SONG IS STAGGERINGLY BREATHTAKING AND I CANNOT STOP LISTENING TO IT.

  • To you guys talking about hitler and mir... how does doing what you believe to be right make you an evil person? Who have the right to judge that? Hitler did what he believed to be right, he wasnt evil, just a fked up person whom most of us hate ^^'

Mir was controlled by her emotions, her hatred took over and pretty much created its own personality. It was first after that her true self had been able to surface abit that she realised her error.

  • in other words, mir and hitler are completely different, u cant compare them. everything about them are different.

  • @chrnokun88 You do make a good point.

  • @chrnokun88 What made Hitler evil and 'wrong' was the fact that his beliefs required the sacrifice of another person's beliefs. No one has the right to take away another persons life or rights in order to make their own come true. Hitler did have beliefs, yes, but the moment he cruelly forced them upon others and killed in order to attain them, he became evil.

And yes, you're right now that you mention it~ : ) Thanks for your opinion ^^

  • I can't understand why people can dislike this kind of music. I can listen to this for hours, but when trying to let other people listen to it, they're like WTF?

    I love this language <3

  • Heard this song on AnimeNfo Radio haha, and this is one of the most amazing songs I've heard in a while... gotta love the radio for using such good songs.

  • plz plz plz can someone tell me where this song is from!!!!!!???

  • @Msflawlesscrystal Ar Tonelico of course!^^

Sang by Mir, aka Jaqli. 1 of the character of this game.

  • @Msflawlesscrystal You do know that there is a title for this song right above the video right....?

  • I like exec_sphilia more after knowing the meanings of the lyric.

  • Ar Tenelico always has such hardcore songs :)

  • @jupiterisdagirl It's what you call Rock-Opera

  • @Vza004

Interesting. I love collaborated genres :)

  • Comment removed

  • wow..very nice

but, it's more like a conversation isn't it?

  • Holy crap this song is a fucking hardcore.

  • Did somebody know how to translate hymmnos the easy way?

  • @hakimfullmetal19

No. You have to learn the words and use your artistic interpretation of it.

  • Comment removed

  • Holy shit this song is fucking hardcore.

  • That song is fuckin' hardcore.

  • And any further comments are redundant.

  • Indeed, comrade. Indeed.

  • Yep translation aside the only real beef with this game is that the booses die too fast to enjoy these songs properly while fighting them, especially if the kill switch that is Replakia shows up. An example in this one I had to hear the whole thing sepeartely from the game to hear the guitar bit in it. The synthesises and antics therein personally are one of the game's better sellers that go unmentioned, absolutely hilarious stuff there ^^

  • I think there was a mention somewhere that the difficulty in AT3 will be higher than its predecessors.

  • I just fought my way to a camp/save circle, then healed after every battle until I emptied the gauge. The only way they could make it more difficult for me is to remove free healing in dungeons. Or, you know, avoid bugs that make the game freeze after turn three. Although, Replekia made a lot of battles go very quickly.

  • Ar Tonelico has some of the most ,if not the most awesome boss music in all rpg, and I'm serious.

  • Oh my. I hadn't actually known the lyrics until now. As the first Hymn sung by the legend herself, I've been in love for quite some time. It's quite the conversation between girls.

  • Agreed, once she sang, the other two Reyvateils became Moot! I love MIr.

  • I'm glad I'm not alone. I have a seriously soft spot for this particular series, at first because of Lyner's kick assery, but after the real introduction of Mir, I found my lady4life, or so I believe. All that awaits is to see if the new legends in part III live up to the rep.

  • I LOVE MIR TOO XDD Ah, she's so misunderstood and so awesome. This song, to me, shows her raw emotions. She's connecting with the Infel Phira on such a deep level~ She's singing out her true, untamed emotions T__T So beautiful~ You think of Mir as such a hateful and evil person, but when you hear this song, you feel all the pain she had to bear.

  • @SeanAbesto

Actually, this isn't for establishing any connections to other servers, but only for the Reyvateils to communicate directly through their emotions.

  • @SeanAbesto I stopped thinking of Mir as an evil and hateful person toward the end of the first game....

  • @SeanAbesto

Yes. Clearly, to halt the Holocaust, EXEC_RE=NATION/. and EXEC_SPHILIA/. could be sung to Hitler and open his mind to human- I mean, the Jews. If only real life were so easy.

You think of Hitler as such a hateful and evil person, but when you read Mein Kampf, you feel all the pain he had to bear. He writes his true, untamed emotions.

    How wretched.

  • @amitabho123 Hitler is an evil and hateful person. Although he, like all humans, definetly had pain to bear, did his pain need to amount to the millions of lives sacrificed? Although everyone is entitled to their opinions, thoughts and beliefs, no one should be harmed or have to suffer as a sacrifice for their own, or for someone else's, personal visions. Mir/Jacqli caused heartache and chaos for everyone, but the fact that she's been through a lot and connects with the Heart of Gaea means--

  • @amitabho123 --means absolutely nothing. No one can atone for the sin of taking away anothers life, no matter what they went through or how hard their life is. Mir/Jacqli will have to live through the emotional pain of both her own past and the guilt of the anarchy she caused. Hitler might have had a difficult and painful past, but the suffering of one life, compared to the gruesome murder of millions, in my opinion, is an unjust and selfish exchange no matter what said person went through.

  • @SeanAbesto There is no such thing as atonement. It is a simple matter of wishing that you never did what you did and wanting to be forgiven. I don't know if Hitler ever regretted what he did but Mir and other characters like her have. I wish humans in real life could be more like that as well as being more forgiving. In reality, we aren't very forgiving at all. It's sad really.

  • @ZafonSkyknight "There is no such thing as atonement" Beautiful words~

We're not very forgiving, you're right... What's ironic is that we're capable of writing stories and designing games based around the concepts we lack, without ever learning a lesson from them ourselves. We ARE sad...

  • @SeanAbesto You, sir. Fucking win. No sarcasm

  • @haxerx123 Thank you, thank you -bows, bows- : D Don't you agree though? I mean, we've been writing and thinking and feeling for so long that this world needs to CHANGE for the better, but after thousands and thousands of years of wishing, not a single time have we felt an inch of transformation. We pride ourselves on being concious and willing and sentient, when we can't even feel the need to help ourselves become, quite simply, 'nice'. That's why I immerse myself in fiction~ For the lessons.

  • @SeanAbesto True. It's sad but the real world isn't receptive to change. Mainly because they feel insecure as they don't know what the change might bring in for them. Though for my case I immerse myself in fiction cause I couldn't be bothered anymore.

  • @SeanAbesto And that with the writing stories without learning something from them...it is a nice thought, but I think it is more that a single human may be able to comprehend these concepts of better life and higher logic, while humanity as an entirety is not.

That is why, when you are trying to change the world, there is no way to avoid reckless methods.

  • @SeanAbesto

I am not sure if you understand. Mir killed a ridiculous amount of people. Her pain is nothing to the murder of millions. Just like Hitler, she deserves to burn forever.

  • @amitabho123 I don't disagree with your point of view, but I don't completely agree either. Hitler suffered, but in that suffering, he brought down millions of people. Mir suffered, and in her suffering, she slew people as well. The difference here is that Mir, unlike Hitler, was awakened to the pain she caused and tried, to the best of her capabilities, to fix her mistakes and make the world better. Atonement is impossible, but trying to be 'good' is better then not trying at all, no?

  • @SeanAbesto Okay people. Mir is not like Hitler at all she is like Xandra. Both she and Xandra were horribly mistreated and as a result they made the floating islands fall, and they got redeemed. Hitler was just a guy who had serious mental issues.

  • @SariaSchala I can't agree here either~ Hitler was convinced his way of thinking was right. He didn't have mental issues. I mean, we are living every day with some form of pre-determined thoughts and values, but who's to say they're right? I'm not approving of Hitler's ways, but it's just not in my personality to judge people higher than others. Everyone's equal, and should be conceived as such. Hitler WAS, however, to some extent, very, very, very wrong.

  • @SeanAbesto Just a philosophical question - my pre-determined values is the idea that everyone is one big family and we are all good people at heart and that hatred is a completely man-made concept. I love everything and everyone. I'm the sort of person who believes if you are nice to someone, they'll be nice back.

    How could that be wrong?

  • @SariaSchala Because I've been nice to people and they were assholes back to me.

  • @SariaSchala Because sometimes people... just break. And they go on to break other people.

It is human nature to reflect the way we are treated, and surpassing this nature is very difficult. Many choose not to.

And this is a very sad thing.

  • @SeanAbesto i have to interject here. hitlers suffering was nearly all self induced. the only "suffering" that wasnt caused by his own deeds was being rejected from an art school. aside from that if i remeber correctly the only other thing that happened to him is that he was imprisoned for trying to overthrow the government. although you have many good points, mir's suffering and his are on tremendously different levels.

  • @tehloserisyou You're right, but I guess suffering is suffering nonetheless, whether self-inflicted or not. Something made Hitler cause pain to himself, the same way people caused pain to Mir, and that suffering is what brought on the negativity they both unleashed. Anyways, I agree that they're pain is on completely different levels... But this debate has gone on for long enough xD Hitler was evil, Mir sings beautifully~ Done and done xD

  • @SeanAbesto I have a question here. What if someone was forced to kill another person because they were possessed? This happened to one of my characters. In this case, I think the murder is the fault of the possessor and that's the end of it - what do you think?

  • @SariaSchala I think you'd be right~ I think the possessor would be to blame, not the possessed... then again, it's kind of a gray area question because what if the person who was possessed WANTED to murder the other person? It all becomes kind of iffy and uncertain when you add in other elements though, but I'm with you on this one : ) The possessor is at fault~

  • One of my favorite hymmnos, the lyrics just touch you on a personal level. ^_^

  • just splendid ...

can anyone recommend me other Akiko's songs beside the ones used in AT 1&2 &OVA ?

  • RAKA and Harmonia albums are just filled with her awesomeness. I'd recommend those two.

  • @LavenderYuki

    thanks, ill try them :D

  • a rather unique conversation between Jacqli and Luca's/Cloche's Heart of Gaea...

This is quite possibly my favorite Hymmnos song.

  • Comment removed

  • This is one powerfull song, in any way.

In special when the e-guetar comes in.

    It's like an...hm...how should I say...emotional climax?

  • There isnt an anime for AT2 yet. Wouldnt be surprsied if they made an OVA for it like they did for AT.

  • Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I just found the game stuff, so I'm going to see if I can buy a copy.

  • All in all, good game. Im not going to lie, it's actually a bad port/localization, (like, "Wow Gust is getting kinda lazy" bad), but dont let it deter you from atleast TRYING the game.

    I will say that it's either love-it-or-hate-it.

  • Well, the original was NISA, and that company rocks! First heard of them when I bought a $5 new copy of Disgaea 2 (!!). I love that game!

So, even though it's another company, I hope I like this one too.

  • It's simply amazing and describes Cloche/Luca's feelings very well but I doubt Jacqli was feeling the same as them x)

The best part is that it was free of charge Hooray!! ~

    (Sorry for the english ^^')

  • still, it fits very well with her. the bird theme follows Harmonious very well. and, considering her history, i imagine she would understand someone who was feeling sadness, fear and hatred, and who was being chained in a shell

  • So amazing. Unlike most theme songs this one actually sounds better now that I've seen the lyrics. Much better infact, I had no idea this beautiful melody was about two people having a conversation.

  • I love how the songs retain their poetic value even when translated from hymnos.

  • Thank you for putting the lyrics on!, I always love Shikata Akiko songs, especially this one, and now knowing the meaning makes me love it even more

  • Saw now it´s not Akiko who´s singing.. ^^;, but still I like songs of this type, contaning many languages in one(hymnos) and i´m really grateful for the lyrics

  • This one is actually by Noriko Mitose. Though Akiko Shikata is good too.

  • Yeah, been seeing Noriko´s songs on youtube and she´s pretty good

  • Wow...! I can actually picture this Hymme conversation between Luca/Cloche and Jaquli during the battle. It's really good. Thanks for the translation!

  • Comment removed

  • Jacqli's song's always good.. ever since the first AT..

  • Wow thank you very much! Is this the song that plays when you try to take the heart of gaia the first time?

  • yep, it is

What Jacqli sang that time XDD

  • OMG so thats why you had to fight that cage monster, Damn, thats a great song, another reason why I love Ar Tonelico

  • Thank you so much for putting this up in English.

  • wow, it must've been hard making this version of the song

    i'm really grateful though
