It's almost as if the mainstream media has no idea what to make of Coheed, so they slap labels like "emo" and "poppy" until they decide to ask their parents what progressive rock is.
I can see how you could call C&C "poppy". Its still rock, for sure, but its got a poppy feel, like "The Running Free" and "Blood Red Summer".
On a different note, I hope they make an album for before "The Second Stage Turbine Blade" and have it have an even more old school sound than it. If you look at the album styles, they get more modern as time goes on in the story.
