  • he s the man.... he makes me think that not all celebrities are assholes.

  • Kevin Costner saves the planet. How cool is that?

  • Exene Cervenka just released a short western with Kevin Costner in it from 1986! You can download it at baddaymovie proceeds go to Gulf Relief thx Kevin and Exene

  • ha.. i love the cricket at 5:39

  • I thank God for Kevin Costner!Someone with money putting it to the best use.Maybe my magnifying glass heating/home power station will take off.Imagine having no heating or electric bills ever again! With no environmental impact!A simple idea shot down by big business!

  • I hope that they put this machine into use soon. The sooner the better or there will be no Gulf wildlife left

  • Thank heaven for Kevin. I love a man with answers to problems instead of someone who just wants to run their mouths, place the blame and sweep the problem under the rug. You are great Kevin!

  • Costner is a GREEDY SLIMEBUCKET.......and OPPORTUNISTIC PROFITEER........I know this gimmicky machine is somehow tied to him making "Waterworld 2"

  • @Hunkola No the oil companies are greedy slimebucket profiteers...this is the answer to THEIR mess! You are just a narrow minded person with no vision for a solution but all sorts of criticism for anyone else who offers one. Get over it, Kevin can't help it you're not as smart, sucessful and intelligent as he is.

  • @Hunkola

So what are you doing exactly to solve this massive problem of epic proportions?

Nothing? Yeah that's what I thought. STFU

  • Why is the embed code disabled? Everyone should know about this!

  • very good mr costner. very good. let's get this to the gulf PRONTO!!! How can we get them to do this?!

  • He's as smart and intelligent as he is good looking.. Period. :-)

  • I'm ashamed that I didn't take this seriously sooner, I thought it was a crack pot gimmick!

Way to go and put your money were your mouth is!!

  • Good for you, Mr. Costner. Proactive people, that's what we need. Kudos!

  • Go Kevin GO!!!

  • Kevin Costner, my hat is off to you.

  • I hope Kevin Costner doesn't dump that oil

-like he did his first wife.

  • I liked some of Costner's movies...but I'm a big fan now. He seems to be sincere and is really doing something to help the clean up effort.

  • Good dude...smart

  • hey mannnnnnnn.. ur water world day are over...mannnnnnnnn...lol...

  • Kevin Costner invested $20 million in doing something for the environment. He watched the Exxon Valdez disaster on the news and it inspired him to find a solution to cleaning oil spills.

Kevin Costner is a brilliant man. He didn't just stand in front of the camera and make a statement. He is proactive, not reactive.

  • The EPA is holding them back. They have told the executives of the company that cleaning 95% of the oil from the water is not good enough. I say that all the EPA reps that are giving him a hard time with this should be tried as traitors to the people! They are absolutely corrupt and most likely have been paid off handsomely.

  • @Wildrosestands If Costner can get 95% of the oil out,

    his invention should be deployed.

Problem then is, the remaining 5% is enough to poison birds and sea creatures,

it's just as deadly as the 100%.

So, it might make things look cosmeticly better,

but the water will be just as toxic.

So if you remove 95% of the arsenic from my wine, I'm stilldead.

Somebody needs to build on Costner's idea, and figure out how to remove the rest of the oil.

  • @wheelinthesky300 first of all its 99.9% that it cleans and why not let the oil co. get the last 10th of a % out of the water buy the way he spent 20 mil of his own money on this how much did the oil co.spend must not be much because they dont seem to be able to get evan 1% cleaned up or for that matter how much was the check for that you invested for this

  • kudos to you kevin costner.

  • THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO OUR GULF YOU FUCKING BASTARDS I HOPE YOU ROT!!!!!!!! FUCK BP AND FUCK UNITED STATES MEDIA, Government, and ego!!!! FUCK YOU ALL

  • Comment removed

  • People are retarded if they think this will work, it would take 100,000's of these machines to do anything. They'll work great getting the oil out of your pool, but not the ocean.

  • for some reason the media / congress/youtube are down playing this remedy. wtf?

people post this on FB so the world can demand remedial action NOW!!!!! support costner industries....he is real life super hero....

  • with kevin's wetvacs and tom cruiz's moon magic we should be fine

  • Thanks Kevin. Today let’s work to move the US economy toward mass transit systems, possibly electric vehicles and alternative energy. Let’s put USA citizens’ back to work. Gregorio

  • This is Great

  • Good for you Kevin

  • doesnt work.. =( the video..

  • anyone really think that after 5 days this video only has 4500 views? youtube keeps resetting the play counters to make us think no one is concerned. its bullshit. i imagine almost everyone is searching for stuff on this catastrophie and FALSE FLAG ATTACK AGAINST AMERICA!

  • this is the ultimate sequel to waterworld...

    thank you kevin...

  • @acornmorocco xD lmao

  • GO KEVIN!!!... if i had that kinda money i would be doin the same thing,,,,, get Trump in on it and it'll be cleaned up in no time at all!!... Step Up Bill Gates!!

  • if this works ill forgive waterworld

  • 5:34 you can see where anderson cooper blinks when he realizes he's been insulted.

  • I remember reading in WIRED magazine about Costner starting a company trying to invent a cold fusion machine that could be installed in individual homes like a airconditioner to do away with reliance on power companies. This dude has his hand in everything.

  • @beatnix99 WOW! I love Kevin Costner. He's a great actor and seems to be a sweetheart who cares about human beings. Donald Trump and Bill Gates should help IF they can. No disrespect intended.

  • I truly cannot think of anyone else for Man of the Year, except this amazing and kind hearted gentleman, a true American, Kevin Costner. Behind you all the way from Los Angeles, CA

    Daniel F. De Miguel

    Realtor®

  • @dfdemiguel Amen. I agree with you. God bless Kevin Costner!!! I live in South Florida and praying for the pipe to stop releasing oil into the gulf/ocean so we can clean up the mess and no one is hurt or dies.

  • This only has 3607 views? The entire world should see this page. It's beyond my comprehension how this wonderful human being could have pitched this technology to our congress and the titans of the oil industry for well over a decade with no success until this incalculable calamity. Who could have imagined that our finest universities were cranking out such narrow-minded men, so lacking in vision and scope to herald our oil industries?

  • amazing how he's trying to stop this shit and the government is giving him shit. you know why because this oil spill was going to be another way for the government to fuck us and he's fucking up they're little plan.

  • Fantastic to see this video and hear the good news about the implications of Kevin Costner's investment!

  • Finally some good news! Now get to work and put these all over the place.

  • Go forth and CONQUER, Mr. Costner! Kudos to you!

  • 20 million of his own money is what Costner put into the development of this machine. He is my hero.

  • It takes someone with a big heart and someone who won't stop...thank you Mr. Costner. You are truly a hero.

  • God bless you Kevin Costner, America needs people like you!

  • God Bless you Kevin Costner!! We need more like you and more people to help you with your life saving idea!

Whole lot better than burning the oil! Many thanks.

  • R u kidding me, 3000 views? Come on you tube

  • way to go kevin ,what a great thing you are doing, hopefully they will be built in america by americans and not mass produced in china,i can see every oil platform in the world having one or two, maybe even a giant one,we all no that all the oil isnt caught up in oil drilling procedures by those nasty little oil companys,it will be nice having your machine around on every oil derek in the united statesd and the world, after seeing this mess happen ,god bless you my friend!!!

  • God Bless Kevin Costner! While I'm grateful for this invention, it should not provide carte blanche to keep drilling for oil indiscriminately - We need SAFE alternative energy sources. We use seat belts when driving - Why not use SAFETY PRECAUTIONS when operating Oil Rigs which have PROVEN POTENTIAL FOR DISASTROUS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES! LET'S BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR ACTIONS & TAKE HEED TO WHAT GOD IS SHOWING US! LEARN FROM MISTAKES OR BE DOOMED TO REPEAT THEM!

  • He finally got the GO today!! Right after that ass BP CEO got demoted.

Man he's been putting his heart and soul into this for 17 years and the public didnt know. Hes been working those 17 years all over again these past months full time trying to get Obama and congress to listen to him.

  • Handsome and brilliant, a true package, don't you think! Thanks Kevin, for being so dedicated to help...

  • Thank God you and your brother were working on this....it's like a miracle. I hope to God for all of us and especially those directly affected that it works like magic.

Good luck.....Funny they wouldn't buy it from you before this happened and have them ready to go just in case.....Sandy and Paco

  • BWAHAHA!! Exxon-Valdez? Didn't Costner single-handedly sink that boat and then make a movie about it? Was it in Waterworld where he did that? My man!!!

  • Love this guy. he just did not stop at being an actor. he is using/used his publicity to put forth this great effort. I am an indian national. if only any of our bollywood and kollywood actors were proactive like hollywood actors. this is what is great about the US. nearly half of the celebrities are passionate about common man well being. and if I might add, those proactive ones are mostly liberals ;0 . TBH i think liberals have a valid argument except on illegal immigration

  • I greatly appreciate anderson cooper too!

  • kevins REAL plan, they melt all the polar ice caps. there would be so much water that the oil will become obsolete and we all live on atolls.

  • Kevin is certainly aspiring,,,

  • We use centrifuges to separate the water from lube oil on steam turbine compressors where I work. GREAT idea for the spill. Perhaps an entirely new industry can arise from this idea.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • Come on get the overdub on this video fixed!

  • Unless the people of the world begin to understand that preservation and conservation is a very serious issue you will not have to worry about your great, great, great, grandchildren because they will not be around to witness anything anyway.

  • Actually, Kevin Costner bought the patent back in 1992. No, he didn't design it, but at this point, having bought the patent was looking pretty far down the road. Better it be Kevin Costner who bought it, than some crooked politician, or Tony Hayward himself. Or worse, some middle eastern oil company.

  • If I had to guess, I would say that Kevin Costner bought this idea and manufacturing rights from an inventor. He's a bright guy, but I wouldn't say that bright.

  • This is great technology and BP bought it because it addresses their primary concern. Oil Recovery. They will turn this into a profitable enterprise in the end. I hope they don't sell the company to some sole less bastard corporation.

  • So, they bought 32 of them? Shouldn't they have bought 32,000?!

  • Im not a big environmentalist but Costner puts his money where his mouth is unlike many others , props. Always been a big fan of his work.

  • @samt8405

You do have a good point.

  • As usual, a famous actor picks up the tab.

  • Where is the rest of Hollywood on this?

God bless you Kevin for being a true american patriot and really putting your money where your mouth is.

Not like those self-absorbed hypocrites like Leonardo Di Caprio and his like!

  • @NWsubmom

They're busy trying to figure out how to sell the public on re-electing Obama.

  • Every person in Dept of Interior MMS should be fired. Costner had this machine and all the FAILURES in the Oil industry were too knuckleheaded to have the vision of Mr Costner of the potential to stop a catastrophe.

Anybody who is knowledgeable in the Oil business should feel guilty for not imagining something a Hollywood Actor imagined. Shame on all those that failed this country.

  • @valhala56 It's all on purpose bro. And to cause a higher purpose. I hop we can stop them before we find out.

  • @valhala56 Well stated, I agree completely with you!!

  • @valhala56

I ditto that. We have the greatest minds in the world right here in this country, yet when we are facing a national crisis, we have 60 days of red tape, double talk, and politicians walking around with their suit jackets tossed over one shoulder shaking their heads and doing NOTHING. We have lost the sense that one person can be heard. I live in Florida. This one man is doing more to save jobs and homes here than all the government programs put together.
