LOL it would appear it'sa naming issue. As explained to @hackney5375
Regardless the pics give them away. We have Kings down here - Call them Yellow Tail Kingies / King fish. Another beast that fights like the devil on drugs :)
Kings to you, Mackies to us - Great eating and fun to catch :) Thanks for dropping by and having a look! New Video's under way of these babies!
Damn, we catch Spanish mackerel with 6ft rods, 12lb line, 1/2oz spoons and no leaders. Those are Kingfish Bro. Actually Kings are a little more oily than Spanish macks, but what the hell, Yall are having fun, that's all that matters. Hello from the Texas Gulf Coast! mates!
@studdgage Cheers for that, I just got back from another trip where we got stuck into them with spearguns. They are a great fish to catch and eat, provided the tigers don't get them first :(
Soz to my Friends in the American Oceans , we Call them Spanish Mackeral, you call them Kings, They taste the same no matter what you call them and they are hell good fun to catch. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do , Thanks for watching the vid BTW. Hope you had a laugh!
in all fairness it's difficult to handle a large mackeral over the edge of a boat in hopes to bring it in and ensuring safety for the angler; hooking them is more efficient. but there is veganism and other means of fishing, not just offshore. That's how everyone starts out, then you'll see. lol, juventus stultorum magister...lol
Cheers for the input, soz to say I tried to do the vegan / vege thing. My folks are both vegan. I lasted 4 weeks before I started looking at cows in all the wrong ways. Fair to say we do eat a lot of fish in our house, and we enjoy the catching and eating. Most of the stuff people are seeing us gaff is for eating if people were not clear on that. Most of the fish we catch are by spearing also. Not sure if the latin is directed at me or Ianham so youth or fool we are happy with our results lol.
I think with that comment you have really shown how much big mack experience you have :). The video's are for fun - if you don't like them that's life mate deal with it.
Clubbing - Humane way of dispatching fish quickly. Net - for catch and release without damaging fish. Wasting money? Do we look like we wasted our money - LOL! Best fun a bloke can have catching fish what planet are you from??
Many Thanks for dropping by to watch! 180 mackies - man what did you do with them all - catch and release? You'd be knackered after a session like that LOL
nice video once again dave, spaniads are great fun to catch and even better in the stomach though LOL. where bouts did u get these ones? dad was at the monte bellos a few years ago, got bulk!. were catching them when on the drop wheb bottom bounceing!!! ever considered spearing one of these?
Hey mate, yea spearing them is as exciting as it looks! Don't know about bottom bouncing for these, I think you'll find they hang mid to high water when feeding.
LOL on this trip I had no wing man to do just that, they all recon I was mad as geting in the water with the tigers. Yea up round the island and down the coast the footage was shot
Thanks for stopping by and watching. We were using locally made lures from halco + / - rattles eg Halco Laser Pro Fishing Lure 190 DD via various patterns and repala'seg 0:55 good old red and white shallow diver, skirts and anything thing that makes a truck load of noise and flashes lots! They'll go a mullie, even small tuna - we had one on line chopped by a very large Mackie! Hope you like the video , thanks for stopping by!
They are a great fish to catch and eat, just got back from fishing for them and the sound of that first run is awesome. Managed to foul hook one this year and it nearly killed me trying to get it in! A mate of mine Whackem is in your part of the world and skippers out of FT LA. Check out his site, they do a lot of game fishing! Cheers for watching hope you had a laugh!

Dstick1...what sort of gear were you boys using...looks the business whatever it is...do you use braid or mono???...what lb leader...60???...80???...cheers for the vid...very cool!!!
Hey Benno, Cheers for the feed back. Sorry for the delay in replying - We were away chasing mackies again for last 2 weeks LOL!! We have a few toys we use and depending on how silly we are being will depend the days fun. We run light gear eg 20lb for a laugh, 40 lb for entertainment and 60/80 for feeding up camp! We have used both braid often with 6-8 meters 60/80 lb mono leader and trace on everything, mono we use fluro 40 -80 lb (easy to see the spread) trace to lures. Trick is good hardware!
No Probs, I'm not really the balloon expert to answer those questions. Mostly the Livies I've used get smashed by yellowtails, tuna, sharks, ambers and sambo's. The Mackies like structure lines so hanging livies out can't hurt in those areas I would think! Cheers and good luck - make sure you've got some good gear and a bit of line LOL the 1st run is a ripper!
That's this years Plan! Had no dive buddy to , well no one wanted to hop in with me and watch my back LOL! The Macks were not top of the food chain looking at some of the echos we got that is for sure! Hey Thanks very much for the feedback and stopping by to watch.
yeah 'king oath you want a buddy. Only once I was silly enough to dive by myself out deep, so here I am, in about 30 - 40m, no idea which way the reef is, boat can't see me, 20kg mack bleeding and carrying on, and the first tiger I've seen diving decides to have a look. Never again by myself
