My initial impressions about Dharamsala as a serene place with mountains, crystal lakes, sadhus, pagodas were shattered. I see constructio workers from south india, thriving businesses, expensive lodges, blaring vehicles, well settled middle class communities, none of the serenity I expected.

A beautiful place! These refugees have lived here more than 50 years, and they should own the dominion of this land. The mountain city of Dharamsala is beautiful although the streets can be pretty crowded with a sea of red robes. Dharamsala is less peaceful compared to the past though, with many instances of violence or protests either due to the independence cause or the protector controversy
I hope it will soon be over. I hope the Dalai Lama will do something about it.
