Unfortunately most people in Vietnam don't listen to or even know about her.They're mostly into these cheesy love songs that can drive a sane man up a coconut tree. I know,I was there last year and my wife is Vietnamese.Love the country and its people though.

@Mystep It's sad that she hardly comes back to Vietnam to perform. Last time she did, no proper publicity was given. Vietnamese listeners are not ready for fusion yet. It's true that they are stuck in between strictly traditional way of singing and cheesy pop songs. Fusion is said to be too "high class"

I really want to see Huong Thanh live though.

Il est vraiment excellent. On aurait besoin de plus d'artistes franco-vietnamiens de cette trampe dans ce pays. Mais je pense qu'il aura toujours quand même plus de succès au Vietnam qu'en France.

This is a huge discovery for me. Big wow. I have been trying to survey Viet singers, and she is obviously really great, but the arrangements are really hip, I also like phi nhung, who has some fantastic more traditional arrangements and some :cheesier: ones but charming nonetheless. What fun learning about beautiful new music (for me).
