As soon as my husband went back to work I payed 2 truck payments at once, only because I was promised an extension on the third payment if I did so. I never got the extension. I spoke with a different agent who stayed on the phone for over an hour , told me I had the extension, two days later I was contacted by the original agent and told I did not get the extension. Well the people that work at call center's arent even actually considered employee's of 'BofA's' .... So none of the same benefits, nothing. They work for companies that have contracts with BofA. And when people call in.. Its not like we actually have the choice of doing what they ask. If we refund certain fee's we can get fired. I was a BofA customer since 1996, and after getting a letter from Viviana Perrotti, the Checking Products Manager at BofA telling me my checking account is now $8.95 a month I had had enough. BofA hit me like this during one of the worst recessions of our time. BofA has done many wrong things to me over the years and this is the last straw. To the customers of Bank of America (no I'm not one), be advised that when you call them chances are you aren't even speaking with a Bank of America employee. At this moment they outsource to a third entity (yes I used to work for that entity). Bank of America steals from their customers. They create overdraft fees by not processing your purchases as they occur. Instead they hold them as "pending transactions" and wait for higher charges to come through and then pay that one so they can overdraft any smaller charges that they didn't process!

Actually, BoA was FORCED to take the bailout in preparation to take on Merrill Lynch - which BoA was also FORCED to take care of. Merrill Lynch had significant more bad debt than was previously realized. The gov't didn't want Merrill Lynch to fall, so they reached out to BoA. BoA stepped up & took the task. Oh, and btw, Ken Lewis, as well as all of the higher up execs, did NOT take their bonuses last year as other companies did. Perhaps a little more solo research instead of believing rumors?

well see when they wipe your account out or you go thru a financial hardship and all those automatic bill payments you have setup start being debited with no available funds to cover them and get hit if overdraft fees on top of overdraft fees and bank of america only want to refund 1 out of 4 $35 overdraft fees. But he is right! If you do not have over $2000 in your account cancel your account you can't afford to have one. Use pre-paid credit cards from walmart. Trust me you'll save hundreds!

Genious, I'd be smart enough to go into my online banking within lets say 1 hour of losing my job and removing and canceling all bill payments. I'd cancel my cable bill, internet (luxury expenses). Option 2: lose my job. call in a week later when the Bill payments go out and i've burried myself.
