I remember reading an article on Sakamoto and his "Royal Space Force" soundtrack back in the 80's, in an anime fanzine. The author stated that YMO were "lightyears" ahead of everybody else, even the great Kraftwerk, in terms of not just technology, but also musical content and style. I have always believed that to be true. Watching these videos just brings that point home with all the more resonance. Absolutely spectacular stuff ...

This is by far my favorite version and song by YMO. For about the last year I have REALLY gotten back into them. (When I was a kid in the 80s I had a copy of a tape my band director gave me becuase I told him I like 'keyboard music').

If this version of the song was available on DVD or d/l, Id gladly pay for it.

YMO is soooo badass. Thanks for posting this, it has really gotten me back into playing music again.

Unfortunately it looks like you have a bootleg of this DVD - note the chinese characters in the bottom right at 9:27 - bootleggers often do stuff like this, I guess so other bootleggers can't bootleg the bootlegs :)

The only legit DVD release of this is by Sony Music Japan, SRBL-1033 (Alfa made VHS and LD releases in '80s and '90s).

There's other YMO bootlegs doing the rounds, namely Propaganda and the version of Complete Hurrah with TV-YMO stuck on the end - there may be more too

OMG i love them so much. I sit here and watch these videos and truly feel they are genius. All the crap people used to listen to in the 80's.. these guys were light years ahead of anything anyone had ever done. God bless them! meeting them in 2008 was THE most exciting thing ever. Cue is as good a pop song as I've heard. I love Riu on the drums - a musical genius making the simplest of drum parts look really complicated! The HAS version of Cue is quite brilliant...
