  • God still created it all

  • @azariah636 2012 boy, 2012! go back to past!

  • Extremely good talk. Thanks for uploading.

  • Is it wrong to think that they are so cute for some reason :p

  • great video! but not only for the obvious reasons. really interesting how their personalities shines through. mather being the classical nerd clinging on to the chair in a peculiar way trying to finish his sentences and ballard cutting him off the way only a sea captain could do after enough rum. well, at least that it's what i looks like.

  • this was very insightful, puts into perspective the opens road still softly calls like a long forgotten song of childhood ...

  • Minor correction:

January 2012 - There are 2,326 exoplanet candidates with a expectation that less than 10% are false positives (probably less than 5%). Add to this the 709 confirmed exoplanets. In effect, it would have been more accurate to say that we have so far discovered about 3,000 exoplanets, not 1,000.

  • Thank you for this video, National Geographic. I, along with throngs of others, greatly appreciate it. You make TV worth a shit.

  • topics about evolution are always interesting but i always end up asking too many questions without finding definite answers to my queries and if ever there are answers these are usually subjected to debates which likely becomes more confusing.. somehow with scientific investigations i get a clearer picture of how we existed in this planet..

  • ok im 12 a girl and i LOVE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHICS! I watch it with my dad (im no nerd or geek) but seeing history makes my mind go to another world ^_^

  • I can read and write English but when I have to listen, anytime I always don't understand it, especially, when they speak so rapidly O_O(actually I would like to practice much more but I rarely have time to do it.)

Sorry, if I am very poor in English, I tried.

  • @Kanokploy its the only prob with u...its sometimes common to those who r non enlish ppl

  • @mayurbannai3102 u need not worry about that

  • aww soo cute the little polar bear on mama bear

  • the NGL is my favorite channel :)

  • It was obvious that the astronomer had great difficulty with explaining himself but he persevered and was still able to make for an interesting commentary, so props to him for that.

  • I sooo wish for more of this

  • That was good.

  • This is ridiculously awesome.

  • I wish it had pictures!

  • @Kraziidj65 even mini-clips would of made the interview great!

  • The bald guy needs to quit cutting in with HIS interpretation jokes. It only show's his lack of intelligence compared to the one on his right.

  • let's just say fok all this theories PAUSE and let's start building warp drives!!!

  • Man's 1st rule...everyone else is more stupid than ME until they impresses ME.

Hell people millions of years ago are probably smarter than everyone is today.

Yes I believe man existed in all dinosaur periods. No we weren't rats in the dinosaur age like them fools want U to believe.

  • @kiknarse How did man evlove then? Just popped up with dinosaurs? OFC we had to evolve from small mamnals at some point. And all proof of fossiles predicts that!!

  • @MusicHimanshu

    err...GOD made us?

    err...we came here in spaceships?

    Don't know don't care :).

Sure as hell don't believe in evolving from microbes then rats, etc.

  • Comment removed

  • @kiknarse the book might of been written only about 3000 years ago but also according to the book (pre) Genesis, the world has been exterminated 2x already before GOD (re)created human beings, Adam and Eve.

The 1st 2 World War was between GOD and Satan and those "AGE" were countless thousands of years x2 then more thousands of years since came Noah's flood to kill off the son's and daughter's of Satan and his minions.

See humans did NOT evolve from rats!

  • @kiknarse Your problem is that youre thinking in itty bitty Geological and Evolutionary time scales of thousands of years..... Species change (i.e Evolution) happens over timespans of Millions of years, way before your precious 1st world war between God and Satan (which are human names) for beings in existence before recorded history, and before humans even thought of preserving events in verbal form much less anything resembling writing....

  • @ricomon35 You should watch kent hovind Videos 1-7. There 2-3 Hrs each, and Ive gained far more info from him than I could possibly get in college. It taught me alot about evolution in general.

  • boring........ Zzzz...

  • It's like the dog staring up at you staring at your laptop screen.... He will never understand whats on that screen or why it works. But he knows you will eventually let him out to pee if he asks... but if he asks you what you are doing, you couldn't even begin to explain it... So you scratch his ears... Aliens make crop circles.

  • great

  • Thank you for sharing this! NG is the best.

  • I agree....every generation thinks they "more" up to date, informed or educated. We know next to nothing about the oceans but we know even less about the Universe. Considering we're aware of only five percent.....we know nothing about dark energy & dark matter. At least we do know something about the oceans. We understand water, the largest mountain peaks underwater and various plant and animal life. We're on the verge of learning about the Universe.

  • @david25luvit I think the reason we have this misconception that we understand the universe more than our own oceans stems from the sense of security that everything in the universe is in some way easily predictable through equations and theories on what we know about current laws.

Meanwhile, the ocean being very much alive, has a lot more variables which throw a wrench into any kind of predictions we try to make, for the most part. As such was the case with the discovery of life without light.

  • @david25luvit And in terms of making discoveries of the universe vs the discoveries of our own oceans, a majority of our knowledge of the universe seems to be largely based upon unfalsifiable theories supporting more unfalsifiable theories. What I mean is, as long as the laws of physics as we currently know them, don't suggest that it's impossible, it's always probable and as long as it's probable, it's always a possible explanation.

Our oceans aren't so forgiving, they're always disproving us.

  • verrry informative..thanks geo:)

  • More stuff like this needs to get posted/uploaded! Thanks for the awesome video

  • Very interesting !!

  • This is such a strong representation of how you changed from first person editorials, to third person descriptions from Youtube age. Thank you for expanding, as we learn to expand our minds each and everyday!

  • what's gonna happen to the first person to mention god? :) heh how silly these religious people.

  • That nasa man acting shady lol

  • mmmmhhh.... I don't see any Creationist out there...... ;-)

  • When I say my subscription box say "1 second ago", I totally thought I was going to be first for the first time on a big YouTube channel until I realized that it was just glitched.

  • Thanks for the up!

  • i remember why i loved physics so much!

  • best NG upload since a long while! loved it!!!

  • Ballard is awesome but he needs to let Mather speak.

Great show. Minor complaint. A little communications coaching would help.

Ballard and Mather are geniuses of our time!

    Bravo National Geographic!

  • That was interesting, thank you.

  • God. He's the one that gives life.

  • This is an absolutely fascinating, intriguing discussion. They could have gone on for an hour, and I would have sat here totally absorbed.

  • Way. Too. Loonggg

  • great video

  • Why are people complaining? We should be lucky enough that this info is free and NGL have organised all this

  • @wannasurf so youtube and national geogrpahic made no money off the advertising I just watched? interesting...wonder how they keep the lights on. i am thankful but dont say its free.

  • @dsmdeegen Well, it's free to the viewers.

  • @dsmdeegen ohk didnt realise you paid for something..

  • @wannasurf because, haters gonna hate

  • @wannasurf BS stuff so far

  • @kiknarse i dont care.... i didnt make the video

  • this is not what I expected to see

  • John Mather came to one of my classes last semester. He talked about the JWST and signed a picture of an artist's rendition of it for me. It's hanging on my dorm wall. This man is awesomely epic.

  • i am getting really mad at the regional restrictions, like seriously, avoid doing that it really pisses me off and i know im not alone in this one... WE HATE THE REGIONAL RESTRICTIONS i do not see the point in being subscribed if I can only watch 1 out of every 10 videos... not fair :(

  • @elmalacopa One of the zillion things the U.S decides to do to make us move there.

  • scientist jokes.... lol

  • Watched in fullscreen 720p with snacks, I love these kind of discussions.

  • Look up moonmanwalker to see great videos

  • This is what I like to see.

Next some videos about the ocean and about space.

Explore as far as we can!

  • The ocean guy is confused and thinks he's the host

  • I love these lecture/interview videos!! I love free education on the internet!! :)

  • @MujakiKid dude you too!! freaking *high five* i think that's why the internet was invented, for free quality education for everyone. except for those who have to sit and wait for a commercial to run through because they are too dumb to get an ad-blocker.

  • @MujakiKid i too love free education on internet

  • WHY YOU NO 1080P!?

  • Sorry NG, SpaceRip is KILLING you guys on the 1080p thing..

  • What are you going to discover next?

  • THE BEST VIDEO FOR CIENCE!!!! : D

  • too much ocean guy who just seems to be his own biggest fan....

  • Thank you for a thought provoking discussion and for reminding me that there are folks out there on the frontiers of discovery.

  • these guys smoke hella weed

  • So they look at stuff that was created to figure out what created it? Dumb. That's like looking at a flower to find out where the rain cloud came from.

  • @stringanime What? Are you retarded or on drugs?

  • @mam16cm Neither, and anyone serious about an intellectual conversation about what I said, wouldn't say "Duuuh, are you retarded or Duuuuh on drugs?" My statement may be a bad comparison, but at least I am serious.

  • i'm thankful for this video but basically it is just thoughts of babble... no one including them know anything that is happening lol

  • eeerrrrrrmmm i thought sir hubble find out the universe was eccelerating ??

  • This was alright; didn't learn anything new though,

  • I'm sometimes puzzled by the way that they form these hypotheses from differences in temp measurements. Sometimes I think its a big leap from examining ambiguous empirical data to the belief that we fully comprehend some complex mechanism.

  • FUAAAAAAACAA

  • Yay!! We can watch it in Canada...

  • the universe is a sphincter muscle inside of an asshole. It just shoots out bullshit

  • ¿How about his "like-ing" spain wine face?

  • 24:00 We are recycled dinosaurs

  • chuck norris is such a loser he still plays WoW

  • Dont get me wrong , keep on exploring its only to our benefit! :D

  • These people could have been interviewed separately.

  • @Spitfireseven 2 minds are greater than one you need the second one

  • Good interview, but when the one guy starts talking about the earth as a creature, he sounds sort of crazy...

  • @semperFi4ever100 why?? its true. theres life every were on this planet even inside the hardest rocks so dont sound crazy to me.

  • This is one of the best 27 minutes useful video i watched.young youth needs to watch videos like this than being in the weird part of YouTube.

  • @AZchaitanyaaz1 I agree

  • serait-il possible de m,envoyer des videos en francais ou avec sous titre merci de votre bonne collaboration

  • f uck you chuck norris

  • Q = m * c * delta T problem?

When 84 joules of heat are added to 2.0 grams of water at 15 degrees Celsius, what will be the final temperature of the water! about the final temperature of the water will be about 25°C.

This is not my answer I saw this on Yahoo youtube will not let a link be posted

  • The energy of the Earth comes indirectly from the Sun though :) So in the end, EVERYTHING comes from the stars...

  • @88Cortex - Did you forget the Magma Core?? I think you did LOL

  • Both these scientists have "GAG" orders on them by the government and will not report the whole truth. They will report only the UNIMPORTANT data they have discovered. There is an Inner NASA that reports ONLY to the Zionists. NASA = never a straight answer.. check photos by JPL on HALE crater on mars... why isn't this FRONT PAGE ? Why NO mention of the "millions" of sightings in the sky or under the ocean ? National Security is the reason keeping the Facts Top Secret .

  • @greg357159 why ?

  • @HaZeEurope91 If the Western powers ever told their peoples the"TRUTH" they would be immediately removed from power. Our government has been covering up the real story about religions, man's origins and what will soon be upon us all. Trust me when I say man ain't seen nothing yet... the worse is about to come guarenteed .

  • @greg357159 you must have a sad life

  • @111blueduck Your limited mentality will be your undoing. Everything I said is fact whether or not you accept it. A mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open. It's SAD you choose to live in the dark with a rigid closed thought process. Your not sad when you know the truth, on the contrary ... content and satisfied . thanks

  • @greg357159 You need psychiatric help.

  • @culwin Your ignorant and a SHEEPLE. You'll die on your knees pleading for mercy. What ever you think of me is flawed, I could care less. Time will tell.

  • @greg357159 Why waste space with your stupid post?

  • @culwin I pose the same question to you ....

  • so cool

  • more of this plz :>

  • This was cool

  • this would have been even BETTER if it was 1080p . National Geographic please upload future long videos in 1080p please!

  • @stormycliffs 1080p? in a few years we will have 4k hd tv!!!!

  • @stormycliffs

its just a videos of a bunch old guys anyway

  • @stormycliffs there was nothing really visual in this presentation. Anything above 480p for this kind of video is overkill. i dont see how more pixels would have made delivered the conversation's point any better.

  • @stormycliffs spoken like a true freeloader with no videos. LOL

  • @stormycliffs I was just listening to this conversation. That was interesting enough for me.

  • @stormycliffs 1080 to watch a couple old guys talk? yeh mad idea

  • @wannasurf lol i thought it was a 'proper' space documentary i saw the intro scene at 0:08 and thought it was full of scenery like that then posted the comment without seeing any further.

  • 23:50 "I think earth is a creature" and the moderator totally missed it! I guess that would need some more explanation!

  • Dmt will catapult you to the quantom realm :)

  • We will never know the full extent of the universe and existence. Things like science and religion try to answer questions, but can go so far, the question will always push to go further back, and back, and MORE back. what came before beginning? Then my friend asks "Well what came before THAT??" then "What was before THAT? and that? and that???"

"How the fuck do you know THAT?"

    AUUUUGHHHHHHH!! MY MIND! >_<

  • puis-je avoir les videos en francais ou avec sous-titre francais
