I know that they do grow to more than 100lbs.(60ish kg). they live for a really long time, and they're not allowed to be harvested on the Great Lakes.,at least on the Canadian side! I've heard from some anglers, that they do exist in inland lakes as well. (Great lakes are not considered "inland") Either wa, that's a GIANT!

I personally was out with freds fishing adventures caught a sturgeon 6'8'' and weighed roughly 168lbs never been caught before so Im wondering 2 more feet roughly 200lbs more kind of tough to say the least

The Fraser River Sturgeon is a protected species and that fish is prbably 120 years old. As you can see they are amazing and retention of the Sturgeon is not allowed.

The Fraser has some unbelievably huge Sturgeon in it. And it is all catch and release, no angler would ever kill one of those beauties (no good eatin anyway), turn him back loose for someone else to catch another day. This fish isn't even the biggest I've seen come out of that water, but it sure was a beauty!

I reeled in an 8 foot sturgeon but it didn't take very long, from what I remember the guys rod I was using was a lot thicker then the one these guys are using. Are there different kinds of rods for sturgeon? Just curious.
