  • Hope you don't mind me stealing 0.21 for Orangutan/Barrel cannon canyon. I will credit you of course.

  • "One day, DK wake up and notice King K. Rool messed up his front yard..."

  • This could've been in the lost world...

Then, after the continue barrel you could fall straight into a bonus barrel...

  • I recently made a first level hack of this DKC, and it's hard too... but it takes too long editing the foreground tiles x3

By the way, it is me or this video plays at real 60 FPS?

  • EPIC F . A . I . L!!! HAHAHA

  • Yes! Checkpoint!

    Death

    Damn it!

  • You crazy bastard you did it, you finally did it. I love this.

  • I for one think this could actually be done rather easily, without the need for tool assistance.

  • It's Donkey Kong Kaizo.

  • Well, I didn't really intend for it to end up that way, but I got carried away :P

I think my second version of the hack is more playable, and when I have time I'll use that as a starting point.

  • Do you plan on having this for download?

  • I'm making an updated video right now...

You can find the topic for my hack at DKC Atlas. I posted an IPS patch there.

  • It's better if you put the link in the URL box when editing the annotations. That way you just have to click it.

  • It doesn't allow non-YouTube URLs, though! D=

  • Stupid YT ¬¬

The put it on the video description :P

  • THAT'S AMAZING! =D *Faves*

  • Yay for the Red Balloon! =)

It should be a Blue one though :P

Anyway... is there some way of fixing the suddenly-appearing sprites, like the barrels...?

  • No, there isn't.

The sprites appear at times which are controlled by the SNES's graphics processor.

In fact, all objects must be sequenced in the order they are used, or you may end up with some objects not appearing at all.

  • So that may be why Rare uses a lot of camera controls? To let the graphical processor "process" sprites when needed, like in Barrel Cannon Canyon?

  • Yes. It's essentially to keep too many sprites from appearing onscreen. The SNES can only handle so much.

I'm thinking about replacing/getting rid of that row of bees and putting something a bit more practical there, like terrain or something. I just need some sort of barrier to be there so that you can't cheat! Or, I could reconfigure the barrels to make you fall whichever way you shoot - that might look/work better.

PS: Why didn't you post on DKC Atlas instead of here?

  • I find faster doing it here =P

    I'll do..
