  • Can I substitute Boone's Farm Wine for Port Wine?

  • SoOooOOo GooD

  • 0:40 Real SMOOTH!

  • I've seen the cooking bit, but excuse me I see a Black Guy, a Blonde Chick...when can I see the REAL "HEAT"!

  • @TheSoloLand It should start off by HER saying..."Here's something I made EARLIER!"

  • Cute.

  • Katie,

Love the inclusion of the Port wine and orange juice. My girlfriend and I just made a Cranberry sauce video this past Thanksgiving 2011. Would love to feature it alongside yours ;-)

    Cheers

    Kodjo

  • Looks good, I make mine a little different but will have to try this method

  • THAT BLACK GUY'S NAME AINT ANTONIO HIS NAME IS JAMAL RASHAD SMITH AND THAT BOTTLE HE POURED IN ISNT "PORT" ITS ACTUALLY O.E MALT LIQOUR.

  • @916nando ....idiot.

  • "Already measured the orange juice? FUCK NO I don't trust you, gonna double check that shit myself..."

  • I'll have to try it with port next time. :)

  • port port he he lol

  • If this is "Before and After TV", where is the after shot?

  • Good timing!

  • Made this last year while it tasted great for Thanksgiving, however it was a little too much Port and it was quite intense. Good for a small amount once or twice but I got tired of it after a week or so. Next time I'm going to reduce the amount of Port by half the amount they've added here. Use 100 percent cranberry juice to make up the missing amount.

  • Delicious! For more Thanksgiving fun, check out the "Thanksgiving Rap by The Regulars Band." Hope you like it :)

  • I FUCKEN LOVE DIS SHITT!!!!!................

  • great recipe, my daughter makes this each year and we review the video for the heck of it. Thanks for posting.

  • Here:

    1 bag or 3 C. Cranberries

¾ C. packed light brown sugar

    ½ C. orange juice

½ C. Port wine (red wine works also)

    Juice of ½ lemon

    you can thank me later.

  • This is going to be a dumb question, but Im an Irish exchange student in america, and this is my first ever thanksgiving with friends, and my job is to bring the cranberry sauce,

Ive never eaten, let alone prepared cranberry sauce, obviously im going to be using canned sauce. But im just wondering does it need to be heatedor served cold? And if so, how heated does it have to be?

Thanks, from an amateur giver of thanks

  • @LeChuck99

I'm Irish too, but living here 20 years. You just have to warm it up, probably better to do it when you get there (in the microwave even, no dirty pots). But why don't you buy a bag of cranberries in the supermarket and follow the recipe on the packet? You just boil them with sugar and water. Much better than the canned/bottled. And I don't know if your hosts will appreciate bottled cranberry sauce, that's the reason you were asked to bring it! Something home made. Have fun.

  • I use dried crannberiies to ha ha. and White sugar ha ha along with brown sugar and I stur in my lemon and I swear its the best youll ever have. I dont like putting Alcohol in with my fruit. Just saying.

  • Any Negeros on here? Im trying to find a chiterling receipe. chitalin and potatoe salad is the shitt. Please help

  • Orange juice, Brown sugar,Alcohol,Lemon??

i just use water, sugar, and cranberries....

it looked exactly like that and i doubt that tastes any better lol

what ev il try this out

    thanks.. :)

  • I think he over boiled it and then killed the entire dish with the lemon.

  • k were gunna tryy it!!

  • I did this and it worked very well thanks!

  • Yummy! Don't forget the ice cream ;-)

  • Wow! What a great video.. So easy to prepare too.. Just what I was looking for tomorrow:) Thanks guys.

  • what do you serve it with?

  • Roasted turkey, I guess.

  • do you have to add port?

  • THIS RECIPE IS TEARING ME APART, so

  • très appetissant !

    thanks

  • put the pot handle over the counter

  • chch Cumberlandsauce!!

  • oh yeah sure i wont send this message to 5 other vids! OH NO!!! im so scared!!! whatever

  • I like port, is so delicious!

  • this would go nice while its still hot on a buiscuit or toast

  • defenily I'm making this recipe looks delicious...

  • find the sweetest treat you could ever bake at this blog: somedarngoodrecipesdotblogspotdotcom Just replace the "dots" with an actual "."

  • I love sweet treats

  • i like pie :O

  • I was just browsing through youtube

  • hello, please answer this 4 me, katie. what is port?

  • Hi, Port is like a stronger and sweeter version of red wine. You do not need it to make the cranberry sauce, just add a little more o.j. Cheers, Katie

  • hi, port is a portuguese liqueur. which you can find in every supermarket .

  • I made this for Thanksgiving. Used regular sugar and topped it off with lime, instead. It was fantastic.

  • Yum, the lime sounds like a good idea! Katie

  • it turned out soo good! Thanks I pulled it off at the last minute of Thanksgiving I didn't use orange juice or port- but it still turned out delicious!

  • ^ 5

  • I love the sound of the cranberries popping. The brown sugar and port really made a difference from my former boring recipe. Thank you.

  • You are welcome 9aspengold5, thank you for watching and commenting ... Happy Holidays! Katie

  • I thank you YOU TUBE for these recipes that make me eat.But I never drink any wine, beer, alcohol.

  • mmm, i want to lick the spoon!

  • Looks good! I have to try this. Thanks

  • why is this in related videos to starcraft?

  • When I made cranberry sauce, I used a cup of orange juice mixed with apple cider. But when it was done cooking, I had to squeeze it through a strainer to get rid of the skin and seeds.

  • This is a fabulous recipe - I added a couple cinnamon sticks and about 10-12 cloves for some really nice added spice! Smells and tastes divine:-)

  • Great idea Chiropam!, that answers hackface88 question! Thanks, Katie

  • can you add any spices? any suggestions?

  • That sounds very good. I'll try it.

  • this looks good. does the alcohol just burn off, but leave the taste? is it an acceptable recipe for kids as well as adults?

  • Hi mattrmc19, Thanks for watching The alcohol does burn off but you are left with incredible flavor, so it is acceptable for both kids and adults. Happy Holidays! Katie

  • If you want to leave the alcohol in, just add it in after it gels and it cools off to room temperature or less. If you want to add anything extra, you can use any of lemon zest, slivered almonds, nutmeg, cinnamon, rosemary, thyme, ginger or cloves. Experiment! If you want to be bold, add hot chile powder. Or add some other fruits and make a chutney!

  • looks nice , but it's pity i don't have material for cooking

  • I'm making it now, and it smells awesome. Thanks for posting the video!

  • Was it good?

  • It turned out absolutely delicious! I used sherry instead of port, but the rest were as you called out. I hope Antonio doesn't mind that this recipe becomes our 'new' family tradition. Thanks again... it's just what I needed!

  • Hi alisssnow, you are welcome, great substitution idea! I am sure that Antonio will be happy to have you call it your 'new' family tradition! Cheers, Katie

  • nice pot

  • well tyannam if you put like 4 cups of alcohol in a recepy thats only like 2 grames i dont think you would need to but if you do i would recomend not to give it to your children

  • i like the beat i could care less about the cranbeery

  • i kno this is a stupid quest buh, its my first time cooking a holiday meal so im all new to this, cooking in general actually, because thrs alochol in the recipe is it ok to feed to children. or does the alochol content eventually died out when it is done??? :S

  • Alcohol only adds flavor - any sprits in a recipe are very volatile and will 'cook out'.

  • awesome,thanx for ur response :)

  • ( ゜Д゜)
