Lovely.... simply Lovely.. ... She was the only one who could make smoking so glamourous.. well she and Rita Hayworth, but Marlena was the first..... and I need to add that in those days cigarrets didn't have all those additives they have today that make them so deadly.. just pure tabacco.. Marlene, I miss YOU.... Thank you for the song.
@WalterLiddy Of course Dietrich Singing is an oxymoron (like Military Intelligence,'?'s Love-Life; long ago, 'Nourishing SchoolDinner' was Borderline, etc..make up your own, it's fun!!) But it never killed anyone with the exception of course, of 'M.I.'...Pure entertainment. The face that launched a Thousand quips. And maybe a few whips, too...)O(
@GORBI601 As a matter of fact, I AM mad...but YOU know that; what's YOUR excuse? (Please, don't call yourself ''nobody''...I'm sure SOMEBODY understands you...)
@PennyTraition Yes, My darling! Marlene is much safer than any poisonous substance known to man, woman, beast or beastess ! I do think of you much my sweet pennyTraition ! as always "I wish YOU LoVe" my dear ! xoXox
@sunchilde68: Eryk Hanut! I wish YOU love, too. But I hope you not only know, but understand that by now...thanks for the support. Always. Meanwhile, Marlene; you are still my Heroine. I love the 'Conversations With Marlene' book; also several others, such as her autobiography...I still like Steven Bach's book and all the films I have. Original 1930s/40s Hollywood 'zines...However, Diana McLelland's book 'The Girls:Sappho Goes To Hollywood' terrific. The Blue Angel liberated female sexuality )O(
Don't get me wrong - I like Dietrich a lot, both as an actress and as a person, but whatever gave her the notion that she could sing? It's embarassing.
@WalterLiddy It's obvious you have no notion of what being a STAR means... she may not have had the best voice in showbiz but she certainly knew how to deliver a song straight to every cell in your body.. and she had an aura that trancends all through time. Marlene was and is the BEST.
