I am recently becoming interested in learning all that I can about hypnosis and NLP..I have been getting the most value out of NLPSalads vids and the steve G vids...
I just wanted to comment here...DANG! @ 0:25 Adam was his!!!
So...by the looks of it..., Would this be a slow induction or a rapid induction?
pretty cool. I live in Japan so I'm guessing the handshake wouldn't work for me. It seems like it would be a lot harder, but do you think it would be possible to do this with a Japanese bow?
It works the same, you don't have to touch their arm, you can distract them while they bow and say "what's that over there" and as they are breaking from the routine of bowing and begin to look, their mind switches modes and then you can tell them to sleep.
im a beginner in hypnosis and im struggling a bit coz usually my things go wrong 7/10 times! cud anyone xplain a simple induction 2 me or recommend a book or website plz? thx!
It's not magic and it's not difficult to learn. If you're interested in learning more about Hypnotherapy or hypnosis, find a course, ask lots of questions before you pay for it and do it.
No. But even if you outwardly profess "I don't want to be hypnotized" the mind betrays your body if your subconscious mind really is open to it. It is simple psychology.
Yes, but only if they dont know you are trying. And like Openuris said, you have to be very good. You can also be hypnotised to do things you dont want to do.
no, you cannot. Hypnosis is very misunderstood. No one can be forced to do something against their will under hypnosis. they are still fully concious when under.
In fact you just have to change the context in wich they think they are, then make them do what ever you want. Change the context where its normal to do that thing you want them to do.
For everyone that wants to know what the NLP take is on this, look for the term "reframing". About this induction: It's okay, but I would have started much more with presuppositions, verbal pacing, etc. "As you're looking at your hand, you will notice everything around your focuspoint to get out of focus and you're eyes will work harder and you're eyes will get tired and want to close, but you will not close them until your fingers touch your face." But hey, he does the job I guess.
hypnosis is only suggestion and lapsing. ask any honest hypnnotist. notice how is voice becomes more soothing, femine and suggesting," as you put down your hand, let yourself sink lower into the sleep" stuff like that. its telling ppl to do things and making them believe it. simple, understand that and ppl do whatever you wawnt, it also works better with suggestible people. or idiots.
he's right though "its telling ppl to do things and making them believe it." this is the "critical factor" one hears so much about and however you achieve this whether confusion or rapport it is the essence of persuasion
@ScrubsTheOpera Very true, as I have been hypnotized by a freind who said this to me. He was surprised at how easily it was with me, then he realized what he had thought for years, that I had a high IQ. around 140
But it's important to note here, as he did then that one can only be hynotized if they are open to it, a willing subject, or, unsuspecting.
BTW, I'm a high IQ means nothing in life. The smartest people are the ones that make the most of what God has given them.
Nah, suggestability has nothing to do with being an idiot, infact quite the opposite, as hypnosis is accelerated learning people who learn better (and who are usually more intelligent people) are better subjects.
maybe you get the point of my comment. maybe you don't. Intelligent people allow themselves to accept suggestions when it benefits them, while less intelligent people often resist things that are for their own betterment. Having an attitude of resistance and aggression to one's family, to one's teachers and to authority figures. Being uncooperative does not benefit them, they have no better alternative, and they don't get very far.
its about disrupting a pattern and blanking the mind, this can be achieved by saying somthing outragous, droping a pen etc. and then delivering a suggestion. this bypasses the critical factor and goes straight to the subconcious and is therefore acted upon by your subject.
for better resalts get into rapport first (match breathing pace, body language and voice tone).
the handshake is a action that your subconsious controls so by interupting the handshake he interupts his mind when the subconcious is in control and therfore is more suceptable to suggestions.
this guy make u put ure hand to ure face derren brown takes ure belongings.
It's Saturday night in Montreal and I really enjoyed watching all those videos wirh you performing. I just discovered a lot of good staff that I just didn't know of. So thanks a lot .
Hey jamie, i've been thinking about taking a hypnosis course for years. Its always facinated me. How long does it take till you can actually hypnotise your first person. I tried a really bad fast induction on a friend one time. Needless to say it didnt work :P
wow...dass awesome!!!!...so what he's talkin about is, that when someone gets ready do something subconscious, dass da best time to interupt???....okay...if I'm wrong...pleez steer me in da right direction...dis is awesome...wow!!!!>...
Jamie seems to be a good instructor. Not only with powerful demonstrations. Jamie also offers the techniques behind it. The why it works is equally important. Keep up the quality material. Thank you
Derren Brown uses this technique in a lot of his tricks. For example, in the Russian Scam and when he tricks Simon Pegg into beleiving he's always wanted a BMX bike.
Yes and no - this was the second day of a 2-day hypnosis programme, so everyone in the room was a) pretty tranced out and b) pretty anchored to my voice tone, which made it pretty easy to guide people into an even deeper trance when demonstrating the various inductions.
the guy was already there but it still works with those who aren't. You just don't need all the language patterns. Just say the hand will touch your face. Three times faster.
you sound like paul mckenna; your tone and induction were almost identical to his tapes. i listen to him regularly and you had me falling over onto my keyboard
Thanks for this video! It's helped me a lot but i'm still a bit nervous about trying out the induction. I have never successfully hypnotised anyone but I really want to learn. Thanks

this is what ive found is effective
focus on the breath
imagine lieing on a beach as the sun heats up a part of your body it becomes relaxed and heavy
count backwards from 300 in your mind
(say at one point when it counts its fine and when it doesnt count thats fine too)
hope this helps :)

Actually, people with a higher IQ are more easily hypnotized. They can focus better and have more creativity.

If you give a person enough good reasons for them to listen to you and you understand various principles, yes it is possible. Thaaaaat's right.

yea if you're really, really good. Often times if they don't want to, then it won't work.

Jamie, you're really a kind of a role model. I've never seen someone who can speak so long without repeating every 2nd sentence.
