  • Thank you very much for the informative videos :)

I was just wondering, what would you say, through your own experience, about their internet surfing abilities, i.e. YouTube, Facebook etc. Also, how responsive and smooth are they compared to one another?

  • has it also got a camera on the back???

  • can any1 plz tell me what is d song shown in d video on the tablet(wid the girl in d whites singing)...plz respnd

  • this is a nice device but a ew months ago it was $200 + on amazon now its like $400.. i have the money now to get it for $200 plus though.. probably gona wait it out

  • then how are your friends going to call back to yyou

  • Just give them your cell phone number. That should do the trick.

  • can this tablet have a phone number??

  • no but you can have a skype account and make internet calls

  • hey

i need advice on where i should buy a Nokia N810. i want one i just need to know where i can get a good price. I want it to be the USA version aswell. i am aware that international versions will have english. my concern is the warrenty. so please help me out. thanks

  • ebay

  • tigerdirect

  • you could buy a n810 on ebay or amazon. But my advice to you is to get a n800, the n800 is cheaper and its the same as n810 theres not really any difference between the two. n810 has a crapy keyborad and gps. once n800 is updated with 0s2008 it will be just like the n810, plus n800 could hold more memory like up to 16 sd cards in each slot which is 32gb. the n810 cant hold all that memory because it has limits and it only takes small sd cards 8 gb maximun, it has 1 slot. so n800 is better.

  • WHY DO YOU HATE THE N810??

i'm probably getting an n800, because a keyboard and gps isn't worth that much more...

    BUT WHY??

  • I dont hate the n810, its the same as n800, well almost the same. n810 has keyboard and gps. but i prefer the touch screen keyboard. most people with n810 dont even use the keyboard. But i just think its better to get a n800 because its cheaper and you get your moneys worth. especially on ebay, n800 will cost 120 to 130 dollars, thats cheap, yet it can do way more than the ipod touch.

  • i see your point... and now that i saw the TWO card slots... it makes sense. and now that the N810 is out, the n800 is going cheap on sites like ebay... and as long as the on-screen qwerty's better than my DSi's im fine by that.

  • cool guy, nice phone.

  • wow how many people are goin to say this is a phone before they relize that the only capability of a phone is SKYPE

i mean come on lokk before u say crap about u say sumthin about an unknown device

  • well you can also tether it to a phone...but I guess either way, you'll still need a separate phone.

  • well it is a pretty cool phone i must say.

  • Thanks for the info.I thought it was a normal phone.

  • Well Done "absolon3" :D

  • can dat thing mae callsz?

  • great :d

  • can you get msn for it?

  • thanks so much your reviews are heaps good

im still wondering what one too get but would you say the n800 was good aswell?

    thankyou

  • It would by okay if you only want a basic internet tablet.

  • N810 is great, but if it can make a normal call, not internet call, it will be perfect device to have.

  • Thanks, clear sound, methodic introduction. Looks professional.

I subscribed, and wonder how do you get so many good devices:), you said you are a student.

  • this guy is a genius.....

    sucker!

  • where can you buy nokia phones in las vegas?....

  • Great Videos! I'm thinking about the n series tablet. I can't stay away from the web (youtube mainly).

  • I know what you mean. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to not have all of this technology in my life...

  • only prob. is I have tmoble, I might switch yet unlocks are always comming.

  • That's funny. I should think of switching to Verizon so that the SIM card switching/unlocked phone business wouldn't be such a temptation.

  • i just learned it has no sim, but i am allowed to get unlocked iphone at end of summer because my plans done.=this was sent to you on the wii, lol

  • Yes, the tablet is not a phone.

WTF? Sent on the Wii?!! WOW! Nintendo has come a long way since the first Super Mario Brothers games.

  • Hey man, I love your reviews. I'd like to get either a sony Ericsson p1i or a Nokia n810, since you've owned both, I want to ask you wich one would you consider the best? I've already a sony w810i so the phone capabilities of the SE p1i are not important.

  • Treo? are u joking? palm suks ass. for that buy a sony clie ux50. give me something better.

  • Sorry, but my device options are very limited at this point even though I still use my Nokia E90 and HTC TyTN 2. I won't be with the Treo 750 for very long, though. I am uploading a new video to my channel right now and you will soon find out why. The old Palm OS may not be good, but Windows Mobile OS on a Treo is very good!

  • good 4 u. i bought the se P990i for $100. and tho its not as good as n810. the p990i is a cell phone with pretty good web/opera browser. youtube mobile rocks on p990i. i wrote this comment on the p990i.

  • I have something even better than that! I recently spent $75 for a refurb AT&T Treo 750, but I was having problems with the qwerty. Through the warranty I am getting a brand new phone.

  • do you keep these products? or do u sell or return them? your credit score must be low lol j/k.

  • Actually, since I consolidated all of my credit debt into a bank loan and totally got rid of all my credit cards my score has increased to the highest it's ever been.

  • I was wondering which do you think is better or which one you like the most

I think your videos are great too

  • The qwerty makes the N810 the best.

  • your reviews rules.

  • how much is the nokia n810?

  • I believe I got mine for a little over $500 at Amazon.

  • wow i was hoping like in the mid-$200's

  • It is now selling at $408 on Amazon.

  • lol that helps, well its cheaper than that sony UX micro pc

  • Great video.

So the main difference between the N800 and the N810 is the keyboard, looks and SD card slot options? I'm looking for a tablet that I can easily take with me so I have internet access everywhere I want, and I wouldn't use the qwerty keypad anyway.

2 more questions: can you do something else than listen music and browse the net, ie. install some games?

and, how does it connect to the net? I know it has wi-fi, but what about other options, do you have to install a SIM card?

  • The only other features I can think of right now are video chatting, Palm emulator, email and wifi calling. There are games pre-installed on the N810 and there may be more available from online alongside other productivity apps.

Aside from wifi for internet connection there is bluetooth tethering with a mobile phone. Since I have an unlimited data plan I always use my E90 as a modem with my N810.

  • To answer the last part of your question, there is no slot on the tablet for a SIM card.

  • which one is better

  • I prefer the N810 for its qwerty.

  • I have a question :

Does the N800 have the same "one touch to zoom full screen" feature that you showed for the N810?

    Kevin

  • yes

  • is der a program or application i can use microsoft word in this devices?

can i send sms or make call if i connect it to my n73?

  • Currently there is no word processing alternative for the tablets, but there are developers working on an upcoming app.

I am not too sure about the second question.

  • is there a built in microphone on the n810?

    what about the n800?

is the 200 dollar price difference a good reason to buy the n800?

    this will influence my purchase.

  • There is a built-in mic on the N800, so I think it is safe to assume the same for the N810. The price difference is pretty much up to how much you're willing to spend for a tablet. I personally didn't want to do without the qwerty so the N810 is a definite winner.

  • thank you for the good video and help.

  • duuuuuuuuuuuude how do you pay for that stuff?

  • I used credit cards which got me into a huge amount of debt that I am currently paying off.

  • lol

  • these things are amazing...great video!

  • I'm to tired to watch both video full lenght.

I have a question though. Can you put in a simcard and browse the web via 3G or EDGE or is it only wifi?

Very nice thingt, internet tablets, but it seems a bit big..

If it doesnt have 3G/EDGE connectivity I really don't see the reason to have one of those instead of an iPod touch or iPhone.

  • There is no sim card slot.

I do understand what you're saying in regards to its usefulness with only wifi. Without a word processor I have to say that I am thinking of returning it.

  • Have you tried using Google Docs on it? No word processor and inability to use Google Docs from it would definitely be a negative for me.

  • I have tried Google docs on my Mac but not the N810. I know that beggars can't be choosy, but I don't like the idea of needing an internet connection and the user experience was not that impressive.

  • However, when I am at home and within my own wifi network this is a good alternative to pulling out my MacBook Pro. I also use it to play music while in the bathroom. There are some uses to it so far, and I am hopeful that there will more freeware released for it.

  • Well if you have a bluetooth enabled phone that has 3G/EDGE then you can dial up to internet using N810.

  • Very nice review, i want to make a little question about the N810, does it have FM radio?, it would be nice to know and to listen to it if on a video. Thanks.

  • I haven't seen FM radio, but there is a listing for Internet Radio in the Media Library.

  • Probably the most informative N810 review I have seen. Well done.

  • Wooow, fantastic review!! Thanks a lot, I am already looking forward to hearing more when you have used the N810 for a few weeks, because this device REALLY looks cool!!

How good is the camera included in the N810 - compared to the cameras of the N93 or N95, coz they seemed pretty impressive.

  • Great Review man. ;)

  • Finally, I was thinking that perhaps I could leave a DVD in my desktop PC and play it through the N810. So perhaps you couuld try that over the WiFi to checkout performance.

Not asking much I know, but do what you can :)

May your bank balance remain (become) healthy so you can continue to purchase cool gadgets to show us...

    Zuber

  • I have never used the Remote Desktop app, so I wouldn't know this.

  • Can you confirm the N810 used the same power socket as the N95. I like the idea of just having one car/mains charger/battery extender on my travels.

Also, it would be great if you could test how seamless you can get using it with the N95 for internet access etc.

I'm looking for leaving the N95 in my pocket. Auto switch from WiFi to N95 no questions etc. Also, what kind of speeds you can achieve over the N95 BT connection. Though that would depend on your contract as well I guess.

  • They do not have the same power sockets:

    N95,AC-5E input AC 100-240V 50-60 Hz, 180mA

    output DC 5.0V, 800mA

    N810,AC-4U input AC 100-240V 50-60 Hz, 150mA

    output DC 5.0V, 890mA

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't use the same charger for both devices.

I currently have not been successful in getting a bluetooth internet tether with the N95 or my TyTN II and I believeit may have to do with getting the info from ATT because nothing I try seems to work.

  • Hi Trent, (Part 1)

Nice to see you're recording again. A couple of questions if you don't mind.

Gave up E90 and thought what the heck and bought a Sony Vaio UX at a barain price. Really cool, though poor keyboard. Turned out to be faulty and have to send it back. No more stock :(

Thinking of going for an N95/N82 + an N810 instead. Maybe using Remote Desktop software for the power stuff.

    Anyway, the questions...

  • yo, u shud get ur own tv show on gadgets. with ur acting, its a possibility!! ur a living legend!

  • Wow! Thanks for the amazing compliment...it is greatly appreciated and I am glad that you enjoy my videos.

  • any major differences between the two OS versions ? I heard the browser on the 810 is Firefox based and the one on the N800 is not! Did you noticed any problem with that browsing the internet on the N800 ? Thanks!

  • This is correct. The browser on the N810 is built from Mozilla, the maker of Firefox. The N800 may not have this browser out of the box, but its firmware can be to match that of the N810. Really no apparent difference between the browsers other than the N810 being marginally faster in surf speeds.

  • So, should I get the now-budget N800 or the new and more expensive N810 ? :-)

  • I really do not see how the N810 beats out the N800 in anything other than updated looks, a qwerty and GPS. If internet surfing is your main deal then go for the N800. Anything more would surely require the qwerty.

  • I KNEW YOU WOULD BE GETTING ONE OF THOSE!!!!!!!!!! :-) I almost sent you an e-mail some time ago suggesting you to get one of them! Also, you should check the Asus Eee!

  • I did check out the specs on the Asus Eee and really was not impressed by what I saw. I think it sounds like a good alternative for kids and people who aren't computer-literate. I cannot help but be reminded of some grade school toy when I see the Asus, but knowing me I could end up reviewing that as well.

  • thats cool

  • trent what about your credit card debt ah i guess you just bought them not use your credit card

  • so i guess u aint gonna show us the W960 then 8(

  • Now that you have deleted the last of your credit card information how will you make online purchases. Or will you stop buying things online for good?

  • I have no choice but to stop buying things for good unless I can afford them with cash (which will be less likely). That's why I splurged for one last time and got this thing.

  • first comment. Great lve the reviews thanx for informing us!
