  • I am on the look out for a HG BB cream for myself. Is there one of these that would be good for dry acne prone skin? Also are any long lasting and don't transfer?

  • i do agree people with fair(white) skin is hard to find suitable BB cream. I'm asian but i have very fair skin the same as your's, i have tried a couple BB cream, result is good but not up to pefection. I think the word your trying to said is 'flawless' asian love to have that natural look like you did not have much makeup on :)

  • i do agree people that have fair(white) skin is kind of hard to find suitabke BB cre

  • Etude house's BB cream magic has 2 available products; the refreshing and Moisturizing. I'm currently using the refreshing one and i guarantee you it will give you a natural dewy look. i recommend the refreshing one to those oily type skin like me, and moisturizing to the dry types.

    :)

  • the language on the back of your products is korean (hangul) haha^_^ and yeah, some BB creams come in shiny, and some come in Matte... and sometimes they dont even give you a heads up on the packaging on if it is shiny or matte :P

  • Talk too much?

  • Where did you got the missha bb cream?

  • @023chelsea Always check the bottom bar ;) xoxo

  • Can u do a review including boscia bb cream & Smashbox bb cream please?

  • there is also skin 79 . the teenage version is not as covering but the hot pink/gold has a good coverage+ skintone. im as white as you are and most of them oxidize pretty well on me. they also stay for a whole day unlike the tinted moisturizer . my proof is that i was stuck out in the rain one day and all my make up was deleted except for the bb cream foundation. 1 last comment is regarding to the whitening effect- they DO want the skin to look more white . it has a long history. of course

  • @malvadaDiabolica you cant make your skin whiter than it is , but you can try anything with make up. now the whole whitening stuff is deeply rooted with the attempt to look more western (rather than like the imperial family that never worked in the fields and got no suntan). if you are white it will match your color if you are darker it will just brighten up your face a little bit.

  • You can also put a powder over it to make it match!

  • what so funny bout your vid is that, i've searched for bb cream info before, and what you said is all in wikipedia.... hahahahahaah...

  • @drasoureen And...? It isn't as if the information I gave is new or secret. Of course it's listed on Wikipedia and about 8574 other sites.

  • @pinkiecharm no no don't get me wrong. it just felt like dejavu, one time i was reading it and this time i was hearing it... i didn't mean to mock you or anything. sorry neway.

  • Thank you for an informative video --- I'm googling the Etude house bb cream one now XP ( thank god there's a store in Canada that sells Korean products) they have a site online and they deliver overseas let me know if you want their website ^^

  • @PearlDeAmethyst which store is this? can i have their site?? thank you^^

  • hey there ! i'm korean and we're OBSESSED with whitening and guys put BB cream too . if your skin is not fair or shiny enough then i guess you are considered not pretty here , thats why BB cream comes in one standard coulour i guess . in my opinion skin food is the best too but etude is more popular here .

  • I LIKE BB CREME

    Karen (FRANCE)

  • BB creams are much better than foundations

  • A lot of bb creams are light so I don't know what ones you picked but they tend to fit my very milky skin either perfectly or make it look even lighter.

  • I use Skin Food Agave Cactus Sun BB Cream... It's soooo perfect for me! I have yet to try the Etude version. I'm waiting for my SF to run out so that I can buy it. I'm sooo in love with Etude House! I'm so glad we have both Skin Food and Etude House here.

  • I'm super excited I found your channel and this video. We have the same skin tone and you had a great review...thank youuu!!

  • Comment removed

  • Before someone asks you to review the Dr Jart Water Fuse...let me warn you that it may be too dark and yellow toned for you. :( It only suits me with a light tan.

  • You probably already know this but Smashbox has started selling a bb cream on QVC.

I got my first BB Cream today from South Korea called Super Magic BB Cream. I love it. It looked gray when it first came out of the tube but then became my skin color by the time I finished applying it. It makes me glow-y in a good way.

  • I saw a Maybelline BB cream last week in China

  • I'm from Asia. And I use BB cream and your video is so clear about it. I prefer more on BB cream because it does lighten my face than using foundation.

  • Skin 79 is a famous one that has a website for the US. It's apparently the company behind creating it, lancome also has a BB cream with whitening and high SPF properties if you're interested! Clinique and Vichy also have their versions.

  • I love the fact that you always have alllllll the information in the info bar. What your wearing wat the product costs. its awesome.

  • You are so Awesome. LMAO..."if I were any more white I would probably Be Clear"...LOL

  • Thank you so much for this!

  • i think the reason why u r having trouble with the coloring is because of the fact that bb creams are aimed towards asian skin tones. Asians have a yellow undertone and have light to beige skin.

  • @BlackRoses525 Thank you and yes, I did mention that in the video. Lately I have seen a handful of BB Creams with a more pink base so that's good news. :)

  • @pinkiecharm Skinfood makes a bb cream that is more pink/peach toned, it's called something to do with peach in the name. It's great- very fair coloured (the first shade - shade 1) and does not oxidize

  • @pinkiecharm could you do an updated version? I'd love to see which BB creams you found that work for you.

  • the magic one is in korean

and everyone wants something they dont have :/

asians want light skin, whites want tan skin, and so on and so forth..

  • are they paraben-free? coz the skin79 bb cream has a lots of different types of parabens and so i decided to not buy it.

  • i only trust u for reviews and any other things!!!

  • Nice :-)

  • How on Earth do you get this to blend along your jawline?

  • Did any of these clog your pores / cause breakouts at all?

  • You look glowing, really naturally pretty whatever eye makeup you have on really suits you you just look really healthy. I have the skin 79 bb cream I found it has helped with diminishing scars from spots in matter of a week but, the color does not suit my naturally tanned skin

  • have you ever tried skin food's salmon concealer? im trying to find a salmon concealer like eve pearl, but w/o the eve pearl price!

  • @aliadri22 hi,i am not irene, but tried to answer if you don't mind..i have skin food salmon concealer. the color is nice, salmon, great to corect the blue undereye circle, the teksture is nice, because it is a gel formula.but they lack of pigmentation, for my severe dark circle, i need at least 3layer of it..or,for not-too-crazy-layering-morning, just wear a regular concealer, than layer it with this salmon concealer..hope that help

  • I like your eyebrows.

  • They totally hitch up the prices for the states! It costs 180HKD on the yesstyle.com.hk site which is equivalent to around 22-23 dollars.

  • Could you do a Dr Jart review in the future pretty please. Also i really love your hair that colour and the lip gelee complements it so well :)

  • MAKEUP COLLECTIONNN

  • haha youre funny when you said youd probably be clear i laughed :) im asian and i dont think i want to try bb creams because i want to be tanner! lol i guess i have the american ideals being american... plus im pretty pale dont need to be more pale

  • ghahahha IM KOREAN!

  • Now you need to do a video like this on foundation(joking!, unless you'd like to, because I would enjoy that video).

  • How do you think any of the BB creams will hold up to a lot of sweat? I usually wear full coverage foundation even in the summer and with a helmet on when I'm training horses in saddle, sweat causes any foundation on my forehead to transfer onto my helmet. I get the same feeling without the transfer of product by just doing everyday barn duties. Or do you think a tinted moisturizer would be better?

  • I love your eyebrows!

  • If you looked any more white you would be clear ;). So cute! Loved this video SO HELPFUL. But then again so are ALL your videos. !

  • Etude sucks. I had used it three times and I was so sure that it is not a right product for me.

  • @prettynrich there are many brands anyway

  • would u suggest this for acne prone skin types?

  • for super fair woman (MC 5 - 10), missha have #13 in their color selection. it´s really light and pink toned.

  • You must try the Missha Perfect Cover BB cream. They make a really pale one called #13 Milky Beige, which is a teeny bit lighter than NC15 and it doesn't have major pink undertones. The only thing that's really off putting about the Perfect Cover is that it looks grey coming out of the tube (from the so called whitening properties; it doesn't whiten at all lol) and contains mineral oil. I love BB creams and wear them pretty much everyday. Lioele also make a really nice BB cream.

  • it's funny how you didn't run into skin79 bb creams :) I've just purchased one (VIP Gold, for dryer skins), I really love it. and prefer I it to tinted moisturizers, it feels more soft and has more of a natural finish - the tinted moisturizers end up drying on my skin and looking like I have patches of pigment :S... unlike you, I'm medium toned and the bb cream looks a bit too light on me. and somewhat ashy. but it dries a bit darker and cancels the redness :) great and honest review, as always.

  • yey for BB creams!!!!! :D at last a review/overview!!! :D

  • @SassyBanjo she compared it to a tinted. moust. tho and not to foundation. fondations give more coverage than BB creams. tinted moust. have skincare benefits.

  • i have same issues with BB creams. They dry out my skin and even then i got so many breaks out due them even tho i dont have a senstive skin. I think ppl overhyping them. a tinted mouster. does same job and even better. BB creams are just popular in korea cause celebreties advertise them. yet 99% of them had a plastic surgery and go 3 times a day into salons, thats why they look so flawless, and not cause of this poo

  • Thank you for this video! I keep hearing about BB creams more and more but so far I didn't research them more because it sounded like a "too good to be true" product and I was/ still am wondering if it's not for a reason that they were originally a medication thing for specific temporary and punctual use, and not so much intended for regular all-over use.. Definitely interesting and tempting though!

  • Do they generally have or not have silicone in them? Do they generally have chemical or natural sunscreens? I have sensitivities to silicone. Besides non English on labels, do most have ingredients lists on them? Thank you.

  • @sserena13 Honestly, it's hard to answer your questions because 99% of the text on these BB Creams is in a language I can't read. I don't know about the silicone and I would assume the sunscreen is chemical but again, I can't say for sure about either because I can't read the labels. Of the ones I have only three of them seem to have an ingredients list but again, I can't say for sure because of the language issue.

  • @sserena13 They generally don't, but some do. Natural sunscreens, usually. Some have english lables, some don't you can usually find a translation, but always double check.

  • @sserena13 a lot of bbcream have silicon and mineral oil in them.and some of them have sunscreen

i have tried 'em from-brand-to-brand,and sick on how i break out from them because of their silicone and sunscreen.even from the bbc that claim 'healing blemishes',i break out like crazy.only dodo bbc, that don't have any healing properties and sunscreen that didn't break me out,but the oil control sucks, and it oxidize like crazy

personally i prefer foundation after my 2-crazy-bbc-years

    hope that help

  • @sserena13 I don't believe the BB creams generally have silicone in them. The BB creams that say their suppose to make your skin firm and restore elasticity may have silicone in it. You should go to Colorful Circle's website and read up on the different varieties of BB cream they sell to see which one is best for you!

  • @AkashaDaniBabe1 Most BB Creams I have tried do have silicone in them/are silicone based...Missha, Etude House, Skin79, Mentholatum, Hera...quite a lot.

  • @AkashaDaniBabe1 Oh, and the L'egere, Dr Jart and Skinfood have silicones too. :)

  • Respond to this video... You should check out Colorful Circle.com they sell BB cream and they have reasonable prices. My first time on their site I was testing out the shopping cart. Say for example I bought something that was $20 and I look down further and it says with tax its $40,I was hoping that it wouldn't apply to me since I'm not in that country. Whew, it didn't I was so relieved! I was thinking, lol It's gonna stay right where it is I'm not paying that much on taxes!

  • I've always wanted to try BB creams.

lol yes Korea goes crazy over dramas, the actresses always have FLAWLESS skin in them.

  • Thanks for the great review! Boscia is well known since it's available at Sephora, and they just came out with a BB cream at boscia.net today, literally! I know the BB creams don't work as well for you as tinted moisturizers, but if you end up seeing it in the future at Sephora, would you mind reviewing it? Thanks!

  • I love your reviews =)

  • I never knew what the fuss was about with whitening products for women of color anyway! It's the same concept as light skinned women who use tanning products or go tanning.

  • Which ones were drying for you? I have dry skin too.

  • i only use BB cream for my under eye circles to brighten 'em but i wont use it all over my face.

  • this is my favorite video! not only are you talking about bb creams which i like because i an asian and i use it =p but also because i feel that your skin looks so amazing here with the bb cream on! =] you look so fresh and flawless.

  • Is this supposed to have any prolonged benefits? Like over time?

Or is it just like a primer...makes you look good only while it is on?

  • Boscia just came out with one too :D :D

    I frakkin' love BB Creams!

  • BB Creams are amazing. :]

I personally prefer the Skin 79 Diamond BB cream.

Anyways. I always get my BB creams off amazon. FYI, there's a set of 4 that will let you try some BB creams if you're new to them its like $14 - $15 but the shipping's free so yay :D

  • Sasa.com is a good place to find these.

  • Thank you!

  • Awesome, thorough, well-explained review. You rock!

  • Can you review the one from Sephora?

  • i´m very pale , what the bb cream is the very light shade? thanks

  • Great review as always! I was wondering if you have every tried the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer being that you like Kiehl's and are the queen on tinted moisturizers lol. For $25 you get 2.5 oz.'s of product which to me seems like a steal compared to other department store brand TM's!

  • very useful!! thanks irene!!

  • Do you think you could do a review on the Urban Decay Lush Lash System?

  • i love BB creams they are easy to use and i don't have to do anything with my skin other than moisturize, bb cream and blush. my skin is flawless and it never breaks me out. it doesn't dry cakey, or settle into my skin (like mac face products). the colour select is sparse for sure, but they are blendable to match most skintones. i respect your opinion, but my experience with them has been fabulous. i use the Missha Bb cream, and the skin food BB mushroom bb cream.

  • you said some are drying, I think its because its fit to asian skin since a lot of asians have oily skin.

  • <3 ty for BB Cream Review

  • If anyones looking for a darker BB cream, check out L'egere White Multi Blemish Balm ^^ I think they have a newer one? I hear its good for NC 35 which is good :) also try Hanskin Super + bb cream

  • Check out Jen from frmheadtotoe on youtube. She did a huge review on BB cream both on Asian and White skin.

  • Do any of the BB creams you used have a strong odor?

  • Wow the stupid word corrector on my iPad! I mention to ask if you could do a review on the korres lip butters? Haha sorry

  • Can u do a review on the lorded lp butters please!!!! :) thanks! Love the reviews

  • Very helpful information :D I was just wondering today what a BB cream was lol

  • UNFAITHFUL!!!!

  • which one would you say was the darkest bb cream?

  • Lol "im gona b clear", anyways yes thats right we asians want to be lighter, and ya'll wants to be tanner :) hehe, its just natural fpr humans. Also im so scared to try this cuz im very prone to acne, but what can u sugest to me for covering my acne? Any product. Any brand. Tnx

  • @emptyshoppingbag hi (: im very acne proned myself and i am asian. I tried the Misscha BB cream and i am IN LOVE with it. it hasnt once broke me out (: it even helped with my acne. but of course everyone has different body chemistry so i cant say it will work the same for you. but it is light so it probably wont break you out (: i hope this is somewhat helpful lol

  • @luvlycarla101 aaw. thank u. i hopeto try it real soooooon.. thank u

    xoxo

  • Oh how annoying it must be to have to defend yourself to over critical viewers...

  • The "dark-looking" ones probably ended up working on you because a lot of BB creams come out of the tube sort of dark and blend on lighter, but IDK. I'm really white and I still don't know if I should buy one, but I really want to!!

  • @laracroftroxmysox That's true and I did mention that in the video. :)

  • @pinkiecharm Really? I'm sorry. :( I did watch the whole video, but I guess I missed the part where you mentioned that.

  • @laracroftroxmysox You should try one out :) They usually oxidize slightly even if they look ghaastly when applying! It self adjusts in 10 minutes or so

  • @simplicityx0 I'm still trying to find one that's lighter than NC15. I've looked at many swatches and I think I found one by L'egere, but it's not REALLY a BB cream. XD Oh, well!

  • @laracroftroxmysox ooh you are so pale ! LOL :P I have one for you ! Its skin foods bb creams in shade 1 :) ihave some other reocommendations too ! HEHE

  • @laracroftroxmysox you can get some really really pale ones if you look. Women over there like to look paler and so there are many out there that are really really pale. have a shop around and there should be one to suit your skintone, ebay may be a good place to look for swatches/sample sizes.

  • @LittleKitten6 Have you bought any from eBay? Any good sellers?

  • @laracroftroxmysox Try Skinfood Mushroom Multi BB Cream. Its Korean, but It works really well for people who are super pale. Works for me at least.

  • @laracroftroxmysox Hi, you should go to a website that sells BB cream and read up on it. I went to Colorful Circle's site and read what the BB creams do and they are detailed they show you what it is, what it does, how to apply it, how it looks in certain skin and which skin tone it goes best with. Some of them have tints those are the ones that act as a foundation the ones without the tint act as a primer!

  • @AkashaDaniBabe1 Thank you for the suggestion! :D

  • After having lived in South Korea (& being a cosmetic junkie), I often went to Skin Food. The BB creams were about 8$ USD in the store. Must've been the import/exporting costs?

From my first-hand experience, BB Creams come in 2 shades (typically). 01 and 02. 01 tends to be the "brightening" shade and "02" tends to be the "foundation" shade.

As an extremely fair-skinned girl, I find BB creams are wonderful and luminous. I actually haven't worn foundation in over 2 years.

    To each his own. ^_^

  • So helpful, as always!

    Hard to find in stores

  • I think this is a very good review. :) ThankyoU!

  • where do you film?

  • great video! love bb creams, but I find some of them to be too grey for me :(

  • Asian women want their skin to look lighter because only "farmers" get tan; "rich" people can stay inside. It's just like how fuller figures were appreciated in Rome--only the wealthy could eat enough. I tend not to wear face products other than setting powder, but I enjoyed this video :)

  • @aliceinvunderland It was in the Renaissance period and not during Ancient History that fuller figures were considered the symbol of beauty. Get your facts.

  • @JolineGalliano Well I'm terribly sorry that I don't have my facts. I hope you can forgive my egregious error.

  • rofl.... "if i looked anymore white, i would probably be clear" lol i <3 you!!!

  • which one improved your redness the most?

  • I love your reviews! And it's great that you get to know a product before you talk about it. I think you reviewed the BB creams very well! I have the red tube Missha and I'm waiting for the L'Egere white multi to come in the mail. I wish my skin is lighter so I don't have to pack on the bronzer when I use BB creams(I am asian). So I only use it in the winter when I'm a bit paler and my skin is extra dry. Anyway, thanks for the great review!

  • So sticking with the Tinted Moisturizer, what is your Most favorite one out of Laura Mercier Oil Free, Tarte, Stila, & Smash Box???? Those are the 4 I am trying to decide out of?

  • I use the Super Beblesh Balm BB cream from Skin 79 (pink one). Its the best product I've ever found for my skin. I dare say I will never go back to regular foundation ever again. I love it and what it does for my skin. Thanks for the review! Hugs, Summer :)

  • Your skin looks really good. I've noticed it in some of your most recent videos! Thanks for this video so informative!

  • i have the skin97 pink one ordered, my first one so am eager to try it :)

  • theres a missha store in sydney yay!

  • I love the L'egere White Multi BB cream, it gives pretty good coverage

Uh... There are Asian people who are naturally pale as well, without the pink.

  • @cjx3pooh Yes, I'm aware of that. My point was that because these tend to run dark and with a strong yellow or brown-ish tint (maybe I didn't mention that, I don't recall) those who ARE Caucasian and extremely fair (like me) may feel this isn't something they can wear.

  • First off, Thank you soooo much for doing this video. I just bought my first BB cream about two weeks ago. It's ok, but not too impressed. Maybe I am not doing something right. I do have a question, a lot of ppl say you need to let it sink in for about 5- 10 minutes. So should I wait that time and then apply blush etc or does it matter? Thanks in advance! ;-)

  • What kind of skin type should you have to use BB creams? Because I have heard most of them are very moisturizing which is bad for my skin type because I have very oily skin.

  • I prefer my Missha Perfect M BB Cream in #13 to my MUFE HD foundation. Seriously. It gives great coverage, and the #13 shade is perfect for my super fair skin tone. It's SPF 40, and evens out my skin tone. I swear it's also helped my breakouts. My skin has markedly improved since I started using it. You can find it on ebay for less than $15... I'd recommend checking it out.

  • You should try the Laneige Snow BB! They already have a great reputation in Korea and in the states for their great higher end skin care line. (Etude House for example is considered to be cheaper skincare.) It's a little bit lighter than normal BB creams. It blends very well and gives a bit more coverage than the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer but less than the original Missha BB Cream. The Snow BB has SPF 40 PA+++ but give less white cast than many many other BB's with even lower SPF's.

  • I tried the Dr. Jart BB cream and it made me look greasy. When my boyfriend asked why I was sweating (when I was actually freezing), I immediately started looking for the receipt.

  • your skin looks great

  • Did I see you leaving bath and body works at the south center mall last weekend??!

  • im so happy to see the bb creams coming to the states :)

  • Do any bb creams cover dark under eye circles, without being cakey, while keeping your skin really moisturized?

  • Caucasians aren't the only people with light skin....lol

  • @ONENONLY91744 I don't believe I ever said that.

  • Omg you are now my favorite beuty guru you make viedos on every thing i was looking for!!!! YAYYYY

  • Thank you for doing this video! I am so interested. Which one of your selection would you say is the "lightest" or "fairest" shade? (I'm going for a porcelain doll kind of look). THANK YOU!!!

  • I wear the Misha(red tube) one every day, I love that it's not too heavy but it completely covers my redness. I do find it quite difficult to wear a blush over it, the blush doesn't show at all, which I guess makes sense since it cancels the redness so well. lol I have combo/oily skin and it controls my oil really well.

  • Sorry for commenting a lot, but does this rub off? I wear a hijab and I don't want to get it all over it.

  • Missha has their own USA official website!

I am Korean, and Missha is one of my favorite low-end brand!!!!

and skinfood is not that expensive brand in Korea, it's similar as Missha ..

  • there's a whole lot of BB creams at korean markets :D you should go check it out if there are any korean markets where you live.

  • You're gorgeous! I'm so jealous :c

  • Should give Dr. Jart a try :)

  • Just fyi, the most popular missha brand type bb cream seems to be the perfect cover spf, which comes from: misshaus.com

I believe shipping is about 7 in usd from them.

  • I just Bought Dr.Jart BB creams at sephora, i got the premium and the water fuse, and i ADORE them, i use the water fuse as a base for the premium and its awesomeeeee. You should check it out.

  • Almost all Korean BB Creams lighten skin.

  • FINALLY! I'm so happy you did this, I liiiiveee off my bb cream.

  • OMG THANKYOUUUUU!!!!!

  • you sure are right when you say its mostly in the Asia area i goggled what a BB cream would look like and all i got were Asian looking people. Theres nothing wrong with Asians they just are the spokes person for this BB cream at the moment

  • cool .

  • sephora sells bb cream now the dr. Jart and it comes in different formulars

  • @LaLaDavis1636 Yes, I know, that's why I mentioned it in the video description. That's why it's ALWAYS important to check the video description. ;)

  • @pinkiecharm yup!

  • skin79 makes a lot of great b.b. creams as well~

  • omg this is awesome! didn't think a lot of non-asians used b.b. cream

but your vid was very informative :) and im glad that b.b. cream is becoming more known outside of asian countries
