I gotta respect Ski! He remind me of Herbie Hancock. No matter what machine he uses, he always go back to what got him to the dance. For Herbie, it was the acoustic piano. For Ski, the MPC. I love Live and Maschine like the next, but it doesn't hurt to stay true to a workflow that works for you. For me, I started on Reason, still got it in my toolbox.

@prettdboy I dont think so man, yeah he was probably paid to do the video but he does still use the maschine. Maschine can do almost everything a MPC can do. I wouldnt say its limited tho. Maschine and MPCs are good in there own right. I started on a MPC and now use maschine so im speaking from experience

One of the things I didn't like about maschine was that when you chopped a sample, you could only have 16 chops without having to use a keyboard (No banks - Groups are not the same thing) - that's lame! Then you still can't time stretch b/c maschine doesn't timestretch - can you say lame! You also can't layer drum samples on one pad (pad linking takes up your 16 pads) - lame again! Maschine is all gimmick! I can do what maschine does right in logic! Mpc wins!

@prettdboy you need to sit down and learn your maschine more. i dont use the auto chop, i doing every chop manually. i find its faster and easier that way. Time stretch and other functions aren't that serious for me, im not worried tho cuz im sure they'll add it in a update. You can layer your drums on 1 pad without having to use the link function. Its very easy and fast, you can also go into depth on each layer, like pan, gain, revers ect...Maschine is no gimmick, its the first of its kind.

@thekidx69 I manually chop too but sometimes timestretch comes in handy! You would think maschine would have being that Battery 3 and Kontakt have it!!!! Anyways, maschine is a ripp off! I do however think it has room to grow and I have watched it developed over the couple of years that ots been out and I must say that NI does put out good updates for it ... its just right now its still lacking in my opinion...and for the same price ($600) you could get a mpc 2500 which does more!!!

It all depends on what works for you. i payed 350$ for mine, i wouldnt pay 600$, i think you can find them cheaper on ebay. I think whats sets the mpc and maschine apart is that Maschine works better or is integrated more with software. If your an mpc user and you are a sofware based producer you will need: the mpc, Audio interface, midi interface, audio cables and midi cables. Maschine only needs a usb cable
