@toolworks I find the message goes a little beyond that: it's not just the strange folk's greed that causes the destruction, but also the over-naiveness of the happy folk, their "blindness". Evil results when some men practice it, and the rest, the good men, do nothing about it (not sure who's quote that is). And in the end, all are destroyed.

I don't think this song should have it's lyrics tied to specific historical events. The way I see it, the message contained is that the naive and ignorant happy folk had their world obliterated due to the greed of the strange folk. There will always be those who put their own commercial desires first, and some innocent people may get caught up in this without realising it. The consequences of the strange folks' greed is indiscriminant.

Gosh, I love this! The drawings are really fantastic-the rounded, Buddha-esque happyfolk and the sharply angular strangefolk. Really nice quality work... Also, the mountain looks like a giant cock which is really pretty fucking funny. Done intentionally, obviously, but still.
