family services is the biggest part of the problem, not the solution ... they will use any excuse to take people's children away from them ... there is no dishonor in being poor ... and the poor are entitled to their dignity ... if they ask for help, give them what they need but stay out of their lives and do not make the problem worse ... if you want to really screw something up and hurt a lot of people, get the government involved in it ... its none of their business ...

We are a private, non-profit agency in King County, Washington - not the goverment at all. We do exactly what you suggest - we get families set-up in housing, provide accesss to child care, clothing, rental assistance, counseling and parenting support. Many in-depth services that just aren't available at the goverment level.
