@torr5962 Hell yeah they did. That song (although the groups only claim to fame ) is considered a hip hop classic. Im sure they are satisified with its success being one of their own greatest hits was sampled. Just check Fagens reaction. lmao
@311Ceriah No doubt it was, since it was just pre-existing great music. They wouldn't have been impressed that something sold well; they usually bucked the commercial trend in their day. If anything pleased them, it was the royalties they finally began to get for the use of their work. "Fagen could joke, perhaps, because after 1992's landmark legal case, Grand Upright Music vs. Warner Bros. Records... samplers have had to be more dutiful in giving samplees due credit." (Samplee = composer)
@basehead617 This is arguably their most famous album, even if it was the beginning of the end of the beginning. They gave quite a 'shit' about all their projects. They are as good of writers as anyone then they hire only the best to play and the best to produce and the best to engineer. Now this does turn some fans off..being 'too perfect'. Now I like my imperfect music too, and even a handful of rap songs. They went over the lyrics because this is a 'making of' video.
just saw them in san diego a few months ago-wow-songs of my life! thank you
