@12lbq With the amount of avionics and equipment necessary to fly military helicopters, the amount of batteries necessary to run it would make it extremely heavy, and extremely large, to get the amount of power necessary. It's not that practical of an application.

Yes, for the Army you have to take the AFAST test, it is guelling needless to saw, then you have to go to Basic Training, then Warrant Officer school, then Flight school at Mother Rucker (Ft Rucker), then if you pass all of that you get your Pilots wings.

Hey guys, I'm retired Army helicopter pilot and I can attest to the fact that everything you saw on this video is the real deal. Yes, the apache can do all of that, so can the Westland Lynx, and I have seen the BO-105 do it as well. It's the rigid rotor concept that allows for it. Great Video!  LC

I'm not sure what the Apache has, if it's fully articulated or soft-inplane, but the Lynx and the BO-105 are both rigid. I currently fly the Bell 407 which has the soft-inplane system, and I recently saw a video of one of them performing a roll and loop as well.

Some heli's are definitely designed for those sort of 'tricks', but they don't use those to evade missiles. They use chaff and flares and evasive flight patterns, but nobody in their right mind would do a roll to avoid a missile. There wouldn't be nearly enough time for that sort of showboating.
