  • This only works with chrysler ignitions, they are notorious for malfunctions/bent wafers etc. this is a good temporary fix, but the problem won't go away, the ignition still will need replacing. Over time this temp fix will stop working.

  • 45 mins going crazy with my Dodge Caravan... Got fed up.... Searched on youtube find ur video.... Worked like a charm.... Thanks a million....

  • Toattly world,I just used my jand

  • your the best.:-) if I were there I would flash you right now just for the video post.thanks it worked.

  • your vid saved my ass, i hope you win the lottery.

  • why dont you just shake the steering wheel back and forth instead of hitting the key with a screw driver.. 99% of the time it isn't the ignition that is the problem.. it is because your steering wheel is locked...

  • And if that doesn't work, use a Sledgehammer !! !

  • replace your ignition cylinder is the best solution.

  • BTDT... doesn't work for all but this is a good place to start.

  • For some reason, the key in my Mazda Protege5 gets stuck in the ignition (can't turn on or out of ACC and can't pull it out)...will try this!

  • In this the tumblers are getting worn out in the ignition lock mech. So wiggling the key or tapping it like this will remedy the issue temp. Replacement of the lock is the only true solution.

  • worked like a charm on my 07 dodge grand caravan

  • Hardly a fix, just a work-around until the tapping doesn't work for 100 times or more. ""Fixes' like this aren't fixes, just a way to live with the problem a bit longer.

  • This totally worked for me just now! LIFE SAVER! thx!

  • your not turning the key your just jiggleing it, but theres no problem with the ignition, duhhhh

  • 2005 Saturn Ion...worked like a charm, Thanks !!

Now I'm also going to replace it myself :)

  • I have this problem on my 1985 300ZX. The key works all the locks in the car except the ignition. The steering wheel is locked and will not move with the key.

  • This is a temporary solution if you're stranded. The sticking lock will continue to get worse, eventually not being able to turn at all. You can buy a new lock for $45 and permantly fix the problem. These locks are easy to replace. You can do it yourself in about 15 minutes with no special tools or skills. Sticking ignition locks are common in alot of vehicles, such as: [] 1996-2005 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep [] 2000-04 Ford Focus [] 1993-2003 Toyota [] 1996-2005 Saturn and General Motors
