Yeah right. If humans had actually bred cats to be obedient they would be. BUT the sole purpose of cats for the longest time was to keep pests out from the grain storages. Cats weren't really even tamed, they themselves started getting more comfortable with humans and thus getting to hunt mice in peace.

(my cats at least come when summoned, plus the bigger one behaves like a dog.)

It's highly unlikely that they know the terms "kill" and "slaughter". It's called survival and instinct. Humans just love to project human labels on to the behavior of wild animals. A cheetah doesn't even know its a cheetah. It just is what it is and it's here and it's beautiful.

@blalst Well that's one thing you really get when you see them in the wild, not just cheetahs but lions and other animals. They kill for their food but there is no maliciousness in their behavior. Again, in many parts of the world the desire or wanting of them is what eventually forced them into localized extinction. Better to work on their behalf like at the cheetah convervation fund, so you can be around them, help them and enjoy seeing them everyday.

@blalst Well, that's not the subject at hand here. I could go into that but it's not worth it. No individual person can assure the survival of a country. I'm not sure about your next comment but a wild cheetah can be quite dangerous to be around espcially if she has cubs she wants to protect. They are not known to be agressive creatures but they can do serious damage. They are so quick and their claws are very sharp so the danger can be quite serious. No comparison to a typical house cat.

Yes they're cute & cuddly, but they're also endangered and an exotic breed; which are illegal to own in the U.S. If you like wild looking house cats, check out some photos of the Ocicat; which are bred to look exotic but you can buy one legally as a pet cat.

She'll lose that as she gets older. In the wild it' helps them survive by making them look like Honey Badgers, a fierce little creature feared by many predators. Mom would leave them in the tall grass and this strip of fur helps them to blend in and hide so Mom could go off and hunt.
