  • What kind of smoke unit would fit in the Blueline 4-8-2?

  • @adaribros #21

  • Do you have to have DCC to operate this model, or will it run on DC?

  • @F7railfan It can run on DC but only with DC MRC converted to activate function

  • @dcctrain Thanks. I assume with conversion it would run but without sound or smoke, right?

  • @F7railfan No problem, this model came with DCC and sound, I just added smoke unit.

  • Best smoker I've ever seen.

  • @legosluigi it is ROCO track, most HO trains will run on Hornby track.

  • Good video.

  • I HAVE THE O GAUHE #2025 OF THE PRR K-4 FROM LIONEL IN 1949 THERE GREAT ENGINES I RESTORED MINE WILL BE DONG THE GREEN 2400s SERIES PULLMANS LATER ON

  • Nice! I use this locomotive mostly for local and excursion trains on my La Salle Rockford and Central Railroad. Is yours # 5448?

  • Hello.... Is it a Light, Medium, or Haevy steam sound ?

    thank you.....

  • @luchonpistolon it is factory installed sound decoder, no sure but probably Medium, I just did upgrade with Smoke generator and Lights.

  • show!!!

  • Congratulations on a beautiful upgrade. Very impressive! Please explain 1) How does the surface mounted LED light work? and 2) Isn't the Seuthe #21 supposed to be for metal body locomotives?

    Thank you.

  • @cuadrature Thanks, I mounted surface LED into the head light assembly, Seuthe #21 is for metal bodies, I did special holder for it made of aluminum.

  • Did you custom put that smoke unit in?

  • Yes, it is Seuthe #21

  • Newer Spectrum are coming DCC equipped.

  • I though all bachmann PRR K4's were all DCC.

  • ok, love the k4, im getting a spectrum k4 like this but it does not have sound or DCC. can you tell me how i will be able to install dcc and how to get it running. prices on things. im only 14 and sooo confused. thanks for the help

  • It should have 8 pin plug to install sound or not sound decoder.

  • ok

    thanks

  • Hey. I'm 14 too, and I was confused as well. Actually, DCC is pretty pricey. There's an electronic chip you can istall in an engine. That chip (also called a decoder) runs all of the lights and the motor inside of the engine. It can also control the sounds if it's a sound decoder with a speaker. The decoder gets instructions from a DCC command station, basically like a DC power pack, except that you can control two (or sometimes even more) trains at once.

  • (continuing from the last comment)

Each enigne also has an address, usually a number, just like on real railroads. Because of this, even if you have a 1,000 engines on the same track, you can control only one of them, no matter what any other engines are doing, and weather you tell the engine to move, turn on lights, or play a sound, only that engine will respond (except if you have another engine set to the same address)

  • @foxden1992 aas a reply to both them, thanks for the info. ive scouted out a few systems, and from what i see and hear im most likely going to get the NCE power cab system to get started. I looked in a semi local Model R.R. shop. They sell NCE systems and digitrax. im going to get the NCE power cab for $160 and pay about $20 for the decoder and install it in my K4. so i think im on track

  • @CODING247ON360 All information about our store on our Home page on you tube.

  • @CODING247ON360 DCCTRAIN STORE located in Cincinnati, OH

  • @CODING247ON360 i have this exact one, dcc and sound but it is broken and im trying to find the time to fix it and im 14 also :P

  • Its not hard installing DCC you just need the decodor, a speaker and some basic soldering techniques

  • Nice video dcctrain. Can you tell me how did you change the headlight? Also, is there a kit to add the smoke effect?

    Thank you.

  • Thanks; I used surface mount Golden White LED for the head light and Seuthe Smoke generator #21 I did modify body to install it, it is very advanced installation. We are selling parts if you want to do it yourself. Please call if you have question 513.388.9000 12-6PM ET.

  • i got one of these and the locotive chasis would "click" and the body would shift up and then go back down again. any ideas anybody?

  • probably bad assembly and one screw under cabin is lose, also check all steam mechanism assembly it shouldn't be any clicks

  • where did you get it

  • From the shelf an out store. We are Bachmann dealer.

  • how do you put a seuthe in a plastic boilered steamer without cooking the boiler?

  • I modify the boiler body to fit Seuthe #21 it is not touching any plastic parts of the boiler shell.
