Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfuly framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
Carl Sagan - "Our collective free time needs to shift as much as possible to education. Whether you're a young student or finished school long ago, get out to the library whenever you can and work hard to learn everything you can about this world. Each individual and society will benefit from being able to solve more problems and make better decisions. Education is an amazing discovery process that repays you endlessly."
Biblical miracles only happens in the Holy land. UFO sighting happens only in USA. Do i see a connection? Does geography that important on the grand scheme of things?
What Hitchens is saying around the 1:00 mark is inaccurate. I believe that Hubble didn't notice the acceleration of the expansion of the universe, although he did observe the expansion of the universe. This can be quantified in terms of Newtonian cosmology, but that came later. Strictly speaking, Newtonian physics doesn't really account for expansion, but expansion can be modeled in a Newtonian framework. Newton thought the universe was static.
I don't know why I mentioned Newtonian based approximations of the expansion of the universe (I think that is how Hubble thought of it at the time.In Newtonian Cosmology, instead of the universe expanding there is a force pulling galaxies apart).
The important point is that Hubble observed the expansion of the universe not the acceleration of expansion. The accelerated expansion was discovered much more recently. It is the reason dark energy is postulated.
I am a Christian, and I will be the only one to admit. This man is extremely right about a lot of things. He is a very smart man, I am a very open Christian and this man makes a lot of very good points. Kudos to you Mr. Hitchens.
"Strange that in a Christian land it should need to be said, that to punish the innocent and let the guilty go free is unjust!" -- George MacDonald "Justice." The Bible itself says it is unjust, Exod 23:7. C.S. Lewis' encouraged people to read George MacDonald, his favourite author. If only more Christians did. For those who are interesed, MacDonald's "Justice" is available on youtube.
Hitchens gets the Mark Twain quote slightly wrong. He mentions that Twain said the work of Mary Baker Eddy was "chloroform in print" but Twain was actually referring to the Book of Mormon when he wrote that. Small correctional footnote to an otherwise brilliant speech.
what i mean is that the christian doctrine is the following: "God is all-knowing, All-powerful and All-benevoulent", if he toys with us then he is not benevoulent or even remotly nice and if he doesnt know about what happens adn would save us if he did he is not all-knowing and if he knows and cares for us but cannot do anything then he is not all-powerful adn then why call him god? how is he capable of creating the world but not help us out when we need him?
This is what I think, "God created the angles for company. He created our universe for his entertainment. He is all-knowing and capable of doing what he pleases. Sometimes he helps, sometimes he doesn't. "
I think this is how it goes for Christianity though "God is all-knowing, all powerful, and all benevolent. He created the universe and everything in it. He can do what he pleases when he pleases. He has a plan for everyone. He lets some people die and others live. Those that are "saved" who die get to leave this wretched world and go to heaven. Those who aren't saved and die go to hell. Those who get to live instead of die are here to create a living testimony or make an example.
@thealienwarlord Yes, the bible, what an inerrant source of wisdom, truth and beauty... I try to live my life according to Kings 2, 23-24:
From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.
It is only by Youtube that I came across this MAN. It was about 6 months ago and I have watched nearly every video I could find about him since. The first thing I do when I go onto Youtube is search for this guys latest videos. I am Irish and have always sat on the sideline when it came to religion and the belief in a 'god'. Thank you so much for making me think about and question my faith. I now consider myself an atheist and have no problem saying it to anyone. Please get well soon my friend.
@Ballygowanxx Congrats. I am a non-believer in America and I see the biblical assault on reason and intelligence daily. They usurp the temporal for the non-existent spiritual, and since our power can only lie in the former, it will either be misused or neglected subservient to the latter. Faith is archaic. A virus when sufficiently spread renders the host so structurally compromised that it eventually collapses, and becomes itself archaic. Now is not the time to be a spectator.
I found him about 13 months ago. I have watched every YouTube video multiple times it seems, and am so excited when a new one goes up. I have always had very little respect for religion. It is now less than zero on the respect meter. Anything associated with it is just an afront to reason, and it disgusts me that so many politicians and others pander to the crowd that believes in this garbage
bye bye hitch

"Also, yo say what he is saying is inaccurate because you BELEIEVE something? "
I said "believe" because I could be wrong. I was being cautious.

I really like this one because he elaborates more on this subtopic.
In future speeches he has to cut away some of it to make room for more hitch-slaps.
Love you Hitch, get better sooN!!!!

Christians are backwards and weird. All Muslims should hurry up and commit suicide and make the world a nicer place.
