  • I got a c44-9w today!!!

  • I got 20 more locomotives than when I took this video !!!

  • DCC changes nothing, guys.

All DCC does is control your locomotive externally so you can run more than one locomotive on one track at the same time.

DCC does not require a specific kind of power (just DC)

DCC also works on regular power packs without recieving any damage to the chip.

  • will it work for the standard kato power pack cuz i have a dda40x on the way with dcc installed and i'm not sure if i want to do dcc on the layout or not

  • Yeah It will It won't hurt your chip at all.

The chips are designed to work either way.

But, If you do decide on DCC I reccomend the Digitrax Zephyr Dcc System.

  • Thanks for your information.

  • seriously, buy a bachmann power pack for about 50 bucks(or at least thats what it is where i live) and use that. its a whole lot easier.

  • No, I got power pack.

  • what the hell you using a flashlite i never new you could do that

  • Yeah it's pretty simple. You don't even need a flashlight. Just grab any kind of battery and connect each end to the rails.

If your using power from a wall socket, heres a basic story about it:

AC out of wall socket, powerbox converts AC to DC, DC goes to rails, train moves in one direction. Connecting a battery to the rails is DC,

  • But if your engines have DCC and you use DC power, the DCC chips fry. :( not good

  • Not good at all. But how? Do the DCC fitted locomotives need AC or something?

  • They would need DCC power i think

  • DCC power? What's that, batteries put into the loco, connected to the chip?

  • well DCC isnt electriity, its really a system. Digital, Comand, Control

  • its not that they use dc or ac they have a ac current going track but there is a sinal going over the rails and no if you put a dc current on the rail it should not fry the ship nothign should happen unless they have a singal one is because they have a bridge riectifer that converts the ac to dc for the motor ect and the chips on teh board and then one more diod that takes the ac singal that is sent from the controld to the chips brain to decode the signal so now dc should not hurt chip.

  • Wow, I'd never think of that. How clever! Sweet locos. I only have the LiveLike and stuff like that. All my high detail locomotives are dummys. I only have like seven engines.

  • You got the similar roster with me !!

  • get a controler it easyer and you get speed control

  • No ... I gave up ... I just want to collect the models.

  • I think the next purchase should be a model rectifier

  • Pure genius! When there's a will there's a way! Hope you get more trains soon!

  • Thank you. I am still expending my locomotive fleet :)

  • NICE ENGINES!!!

  • Thank you ! Please view my newest locomotive roster at my Xanga ( www.Xanga.com/Kid_Gordon ) September 26, 2008 .

  • try a 9volt bat.

  • I have tried , it is too expensive and dead very quick , haha !

  • ok....what......er.....whats with the flashlight?....help me here.....what are we doing exactly?

  • Umm ... ? Flashlight ... ?

  • Nice! Did you use a flashlight for the 2.5V?

  • Thank you . It is actually a part of my lantern . The Athearn one has retired due to the motor problems .

  • Ok cool!

  • Hey dude, you know what, that is the great part about having a hobby dealing with trains! Some people like filming them, some like driving them, and some, like yourself, like collecting them! I say, welcome to the hobby and congrats on being brighter than most to figure out how to run your loco's almost as if they were on a DCC layout with just a flashlight body and some batteries! Good job!

  • Thank you .

  • No problem man! Don't listen to these people criticizing your hobby! Enjoy it man, however it is that you do, and it looks like you figured it out!

  • LET US ENJOY OUR HOBBY!

  • just cause he doesn't ballast track doesn't mean yu have to go and use it to your advantage who do you think wants to on their ballast there dining room table?!?

  • Thats gay buy yourself a power pack then buys engines, i bought myself a 2-10-2 yesterday.

  • 15 measly bucks just 15 good ones will get you a decent power supply Or just get a starter set.

For 40 you can get a mrc home dinger. 1 purchase

will run every train you ever owned or will own.

    ;)

  • Because I am waiting for a with-sound locomotive , so I may buy a more function control later .

  • When you get a power Pack, or even DCC... you get many cool things like Sound..Working Lights...

  • Yes , I hope to play all these , but no hopes in the coming 10 years , maybe .

  • Yeah right, power pack doesn't more expensive than your loco collection...

Trust me, you will find another excitement..

  • I need to wait now ... I am lack of money ... haha ..

  • LOL quit buying locomotives and buy yourself a power pack!

  • Ha , I would like to collect locomotive rather than run them ..
